Deuteronomy 23
1 A geldyng whanne hise stoonys ben brokun, ethir kit awey, and his yerde is kit awei, schal not entre in to the chirche of the Lord.
Ei kuohitun ja raajarikon pidä tuleman Herran seurakuntaan.
2 A child borun of hordom schal not entre in to the chirche of the Lord, `til to the tenthe generacioun.
Eikä pidä myös äpärän tuleman Herran seurakuntaan, eipä vielä kymmenenteen polveenkaan asti pidä jonkun heistä Herran seurakuntaan tuleman.
3 Ammonytis and Moabitis, yhe aftir the tenthe generacioun, schulen not entre into the `chirche of the Lord with outen ende;
Ammonilaiset ja Moabilaiset ei pidä tuleman Herran seurakuntaan, ei kymmenenteenkään polveen asti, ja ei ikänä tuleman Herran seurakuntaan,
4 for thei nolden come to you with breed and watir in the weie, whanne ye yeden out of Egipt; and for thei hireden ayens thee Balaam, the sone of Beor, fro Mesopotanye of Sirye, that he schulde curse thee;
Sentähden ettei he kohdanneet teitä tiellä leivällä ja vedellä, kuin te läksitte Egyptistä, ja että he palkkasivat teitä vastaan Bileamin Beorin pojan Mesopotamian Petorista, kiroomaan sinua.
5 and thi Lord God nolde here Balaam, and God turnede `the cursyng of Balaam in to thi blessyng, for he louyde thee.
Mutta Herra sinun Jumalas ei kuullut Bileamia, vaan Herra sinun Jumalas muutti sinulle kirouksen siunaukseksi; sillä Herra sinun Jumalas rakasti sinua.
6 Thou schalt not make pees with hem, nethir thou schalt seke goodis to hem, in alle the daies of thi lijf in to with outen ende.
Älä toivota heille rauhaa eli jotakin hyvää, kaikkena elinaikanas ijankaikkisesti.
7 Thou schalt not `haue abhomynacioun of a man of Ydumye, for he is thi brothir, nethir of a man of Egipt, for thou were a comelyng in the lond of hym.
Edomilaista älä kauhistu; sillä hän on sinun veljes. Älä myös Egyptiläistä kauhistu; sillä sinä olit muukalainen hänen maassansa.
8 Thei that ben borun of hem, schulen entre in the thridde generacioun in to the `chirche of the Lord.
Ne lapset, jotka heistä syntyvät kolmannessa polvessa, tulkaan Herran seurakuntaan.
9 Whanne thou schalt go out `in to batel ayens thin enemyes, thou schalt kepe thee fro al yuel thing.
Kuin lähdet leiristäs vihollisias vastaan, kavahda itsiäs kaikkinaisesta pahuudesta.
10 If a man is among you, which is defoulid in `sleep of nyyt, he schal go out of `the castels;
Jos joku on teidän seassanne, joka ei ole puhdas, että hänelle yöllä jotakin tapahtunut on; hänen pitää menemän pois leiristä, ja ei leiriin sisälle tuleman.
11 and he schal not turne ayen bifore that he be waischun in watir at euentid, and aftir the goyng doun of the sunne he schal go ayen in to the castels.
Ja hänen pitää ehtoona itsensä vedellä pesemän, ja sittekuin aurinko laskenut on, palatkaan leiriin.
12 Thou schalt haue a place without the castels, to which thou schalt go out to nedeful thingis of kynde;
Ulkona leiristä olkoon sinulla paikka, johonkas menet tarpeilles.
13 and thou schalt bere a litil stake in the girdil; and whanne thou hast sete, thou schalt digge `bi cumpas, and `thou schalt hile with erthe thingis `defied out,
Ja sinulla pitää oleman vähä kalikka vyölläs, ja kuin menet tarpeilles, kaiva sillä, ja istuttuas, peitä saastaisuutes.
14 where thou art releuyd. For thi Lord God goeth in the myddis of castels, that he diliuere thee, and bitake thin enemyes to thee, that thi castels be hooli, and no thing of filthe appere in tho, lest he forsake thee.
Sillä Herra sinun Jumalas vaeltaa sinun leiris lävitse pelastamaan sinua ja antamaan sinun vihollises sinun etees, sentähden pitää sinun leiris pyhä oleman, ettei häpiää näkyisi sinun seassas ja hän kääntäis itsensä sinusta pois.
15 Thou schalt not bitake a seruaunt to his lord, which seruaunt fleeth to thee;
Älä isännän haltuun anna orjaa, joka häneltä sinun tykös karannut on.
16 he schal dwelle with thee in the place that plesith hym, and he schal reste in oon of thi citees; and make thou not hym sori.
Hän olkaan sinun tykönäs, sinun keskelläs siinä paikassa, joka hänelle kelpaa, jossakussa sinun portissas, itsellensä hyväksi, älä sorra häntä.
17 Noon hoore schal be of the douytris of Israel, nether a letchour of the sones of Israel.
Ei pidä yhtäkään porttoa oleman Israelin lasten tytärten seassa, eikä yhtään huorintekiää Israelin poikain seassa.
18 Thou schalt not offre the hire of `an hoore hows, nether the prijs of a dogge, in the hows of thi Lord God, what euer thing it is that thou hast avowid; for euer eithir is abhomynacioun bifor thi Lord God.
Älä kanna porton palkkaa eikä koiran hintaa Herran sinun Jumalas huoneesen, jonkun lupauksen edestä; sillä ne molemmat ovat Herralle sinun Jumalalles kauhistus.
19 Thou schalt not leene to thi brothir to vsure money, neither fruytis,
Älä korkoa ota veljeltäs rahasta, syötävästä tahi muusta, josta korko otetaan.
20 nethir ony othir thing, but to an alien. Forsothe thou schalt leene to thi brothir without vsure that that he nedith, that thi Lord God blesse thee in al thi werk, in the lond to which thou schalt entre to welde.
Muukalaiselta ota korko, mutta älä veljeltäs, että Herra sinun Jumalas siunais sinua kaikessa aivoituksessas siinä maassa, johonkas tulet omistamaan sitä.
21 Whanne thou makist auow to thi Lord God, thou schalt not tarie to yelde, for thi Lord God schal `requyre, ether axe, that; and if thou tariest, it schal be arretid to thee in to synne.
Kuin Herralle sinun Jumalalles lupauksen lupaat, niin älä viivytä maksaa sitä; sillä Herra sinun Jumalas on sen totisesti vaativa sinulta, ja se on sinulle synti.
22 If thou `nylt bihete, thou schalt be with out synne.
Vaan jollet sinä lupaa, niin ei ole sinulla syntiä.
23 Forsothe thou schalt kepe, and `do that that yede out onys of thi lippis, as thou bihiytist to thi Lord God, and hast spoke with thin owne wille and thi mouth.
Pidä se, mikä sinun huulistas on käynyt ulos, ja tee, niinkuin sinä Herralle sinun Jumalalles hyvällä ehdolla luvannut olet sitä, minkä sinä suullas puhunut olet.
24 If thou entrist in to the vynere of thi neiybore, ete thou grapis, as myche as plesith thee; but bere thou not out with thee.
Kuin menet lähimmäises viinamäkeen, niin sinä saat syödä viinamarjoja himos jälkeen, ettäs ravitaan; mutta älä pane mitäkään astiaas.
25 If thou entrist in to `the corn of thi freend, thou schalt breke `eeris of corn, and frote togidere with `the hond; but thou schalt not repe with a sikil.
Koskas menet lähimmäises laihoon, niin sinä saat katkoa tähkäpäitä kädelläs, mutta älä sirpillä lähimmäises laihoa niitä.
