Deuteronomy 11
1 Therfor loue thi Lord God, and kepe thou hise comaundementis and cerymonyes, domes and heestis, in al tyme.
“Anh em phải kính yêu Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, tuân hành mọi điều răn, luật lệ, và chỉ thị của Ngài.
2 Knowe ye to day tho thingis whiche youre sones knowen not, `whiche sones sien not the doctryn of youre Lord God, hise grete dedis, and strong hond, and `arm holdun forth,
Hôm nay tôi không nói với con cái anh em, vì chúng nó chưa biết, chưa thấy sự vĩ đại, quyền lực siêu nhiên của Chúa,
3 myraclis and werkis, whiche he dide `in the myddis of Egipt to Farao, kyng, and to al `the lond of hym, and to al the oost of Egipcians,
không thấy những phép lạ Ngài làm ở Ai Cập để trừng phạt Pha-ra-ôn và toàn lãnh thổ vua này,
4 and to horsis, and carris; hou the watris of the reed see hiliden hem, whanne thei pursueden you, and the Lord `dide awei hem `til in to `present dai;
những việc Ngài làm cho quân đội, kỵ binh, và chiến xa Ai Cập khi họ đuổi theo Ít-ra-ên, Ngài xua nước Biển Đỏ vùi lấp, tiêu diệt họ.
5 and whiche thingis the Lord dide to you in wildernesse, til ye camen to this place;
Những việc Ngài làm cho anh em, từ lúc còn đi trong hoang mạc cho đến khi vào tận nơi này,
6 and to Dathan and Abiron, `the sones of Heliab, that was `the sone of Ruben, whiche the erthe swolewide, whanne his mouth was openyd, with `the housis and tabernaclis, and al the catel `of hem which thei hadden, in the myddis of Israel.
việc Ngài làm cho Đa-than và A-bi-ram (con Ê-li-áp, cháu Ru-bên) khi họ đang ở giữa toàn dân, đất đã nứt ra nuốt sống họ cùng với mọi người trong gia đình họ, lều trại và súc vật của họ.
7 Youre iyen sien alle the grete werkis of the Lord,
Những việc phi thường Chúa Hằng Hữu làm đó, anh em đã chứng kiến tận mắt rồi!”
8 whiche he dide, that ye kepe alle hise heestis whiche Y comaunde to dai to you, and that ye moun entre, and welde the lond,
“Vì thế, anh em phải vâng giữ mọi mệnh lệnh của Ngài mà tôi truyền lại hôm nay, để có đủ sức đi chiếm đất bên kia sông,
9 to which ye schulen entre, and ye lyue therynne in myche time; which lond, flowynge with mylk and hony, the Lord bihiyte vndur an ooth to youre fadris and to `the seed of hem.
và được sống lâu dài trên đất phì nhiêu tốt đẹp mà Chúa Hằng Hữu hứa cho các tổ tiên, và cho anh em là hàng con cháu.
10 For the lond, to which thou schalt entre to welde, is not as the lond of Egipt, `out of which thou yedist, where whanne the seed is cast in the maner of gardyns, moist waters ben led;
Vì đất anh em sẽ chiếm cứ không giống như đất Ai Cập, nơi anh em sống trước kia. Ở Ai Cập, khi gieo giống, người ta phải đạp nước và săn sóc như chăm bón vườn rau vậy.
11 but it is hilli, and feldi, and abidith reynes fro heuene,
Trái lại, đất anh em sắp hưởng gồm những đồi cao và thung lũng, là xứ có nhiều mưa,
12 which lond thi Lord God biholdith, and hise iyen ben therynne, fro the bigynnyng of the yeer `til to the ende therof.
là nơi được Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, chăm sóc, trông nom quanh năm suốt tháng.
13 Therfor if ye schulen obeie to myn heestis whiche Y comaunde to dai to you, that ye loue youre Lord God, and serue hym in al youre herte, and in al youre soule;
Và, nếu anh em hết lòng, hết linh hồn tuân theo mọi mệnh lệnh của Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em mà tôi truyền lại cho anh em hôm nay, hết lòng yêu mến và phụng sự Ngài,
14 he schal yyue to youre lond reyn tymeful and late, that ye gadere wheete, and wyn, and oile,
thì Ngài sẽ cho mưa thuận gió hòa, và anh em sẽ thu hoạch ngũ cốc, rượu, dầu đầy vựa lẫm.
15 hey of the feeldis to feede beestis, that ye bothe ete and be fillid.
Ngài cũng làm cho đồng cỏ tốt tươi để nuôi bầy gia súc của anh em. Như vậy, anh em sẽ thật no đủ.
16 Be ye war, lest perauenture youre herte be disseyued, and ye go awei fro the Lord, and serue alien goddis, and worschipe hem;
Nhưng phải thận trọng, không được thay lòng đổi dạ, bỏ Chúa Hằng Hữu, đi phụng sự và thờ các thần khác.
17 and the Lord be wrooth, and close heuene, and reynes come not doun, nether the erthe yyue his fruyt, and ye perische swiftli fro the beste lond which the Lord schal yyue to you.
Nếu thế, cơn thịnh nộ của Ngài sẽ nổi lên, Ngài sẽ đóng trời lại, trời sẽ không mưa, đất không sản xuất, và anh em sẽ chết đi nhanh chóng trên đất lành Ngài vừa cho.
18 Putte ye thes wordis in youre hertes and soules, and honge ye `tho wordis for a signe in the hondis, and sette ye bitwixe youre iyen.
Vậy, phải ghi những mệnh lệnh này vào lòng dạ, khắc vào thẻ bài đeo nơi tay làm dấu và đeo lên trán làm hiệu.
19 Teche youre sones, that thei thenke on tho wordis, whanne thou sittist in thin hows, and goist in the weie, and lyggist doun, and risist.
Đem những mệnh lệnh này dạy cho con cái mình am tường. Luôn luôn nhắc nhở đến những mệnh lệnh này, dù lúc ngồi trong nhà, lúc đi đường, khi ngủ cũng như khi thức.
20 Thou schalt write tho wordis on the postis, and yatis of thin hous,
Ghi những mệnh lệnh ấy lên cửa và trên cổng nhà,
21 that the daies of thee and of thi sones be multiplied in the lond which the Lord swoor to thi fadris, that he schulde yyue to hem, as long as heuene is aboue erthe.
như vậy, ngày nào đất còn ở dưới trời thì anh em và con cháu mình sẽ được trường thọ, vui hưởng xứ tốt đẹp Chúa Hằng Hữu hứa cho.
22 For if ye kepen the heestis whiche Y comaunde to you, and ye do tho, that ye loue youre Lord God, and go in alle hise weies,
Nếu anh em thận trọng tuân hành các mệnh lệnh này, kính yêu Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, đi theo đường lối Ngài, khắng khít với Ngài,
23 and cleue to hym, the Lord schal destrie alle these hethen men bifor youre face, and ye schulen welde tho folkis that ben grettere and strongere than ye.
thì Ngài sẽ đuổi hết dân các nước kia đi, cho anh em chiếm hữu lãnh thổ của những quốc gia lớn và mạnh hơn Ít-ra-ên.
24 Ech place which youre foot schal trede, schal be youre; fro the deseert, and fro the Liban, and fro the greet flood Eufrates `til to the west see, schulen be youre termes.
Nơi nào anh em đặt chân đến sẽ thuộc về anh em, biên giới của lãnh thổ Ít-ra-ên sẽ chạy từ hoang mạc cho đến Li-ban, từ Sông Ơ-phơ-rát cho đến bờ tây Địa Trung Hải.
25 Noon schal stonde ayens you; youre Lord God schal yiue youre outward drede and inward drede on ech lond which ye schulen trede, as he spak to you.
Không ai chống nổi anh em, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, gieo rắc sự khủng khiếp, hãi hùng vào lòng dân ở tất cả những vùng đất anh em đặt chân đến, như Ngài đã hứa.
26 Lo! Y sette forth in youre siyt to day blissyng and cursyng;
Hôm nay, tôi để anh em chọn lựa giữa phước lành và nguyền rủa:
27 blessyng, if ye obeien to the heestis of youre Lord God, whiche Y comaunde to you to dai;
Nếu anh em tuân lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu, thi hành luật lệ tôi truyền hôm nay, thì anh em sẽ hưởng phước lành.
28 cursyng, if ye heren not the heestis of youre Lord God, but goen awei fro the weie which Y schewe now to you, and goen after alien goddis whiche ye knowen not.
Nhưng nếu anh em không tuân lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, lại đi phụng thờ các thần lạ, thì anh em sẽ bị nguyền rủa.
29 Sotheli whanne thi Lord God hath brouyt thee in to the lond, to which to enhabite thou goist, thou schalt sette blessyng on the hil Garisym, cursyng on the hil Hebal, whiche hillis ben biyende Jordan,
Khi Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, đem anh em vào chiếm cứ đất hứa, anh em sẽ đặt lời chúc phước lành trên Núi Ga-ri-xim, và lời nguyền rủa trên Núi Ê-banh.
30 aftir the weie that goith to the goyng doun of the sunne, in the lond of Cananey, that dwellith in the feeldi places ayens Galgala, which is bisidis the valey goynge and entrynge fer.
(Hai núi này ở bên kia Sông Giô-đan, về phía tây của con đường cái, nơi có người Ca-na-an ở, trong đồng bằng đối diện Ghinh-ganh, gần rặng cây sồi của Mô-rê.)
31 For ye schulen passe Jordan, that ye welde the lond which youre Lord God schal yyue to you, and that ye haue and welde that lond.
Anh em sắp qua Sông Giô-đan, lập nghiệp trong đất mà Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, hứa ban. Khi anh em vào đất hứa và sống tại đó,
32 Therfor se ye, `that ye fille the cerymonyes and domes, whiche I schal sette to dai in youre siyt.
anh em phải luôn luôn nhớ tuân hành mọi điều răn, luật lệ tôi truyền hôm nay.”
