Deuteronomy 11
1 Therfor loue thi Lord God, and kepe thou hise comaundementis and cerymonyes, domes and heestis, in al tyme.
Por eso amarás a Yahvé vuestro Dios, y guardarás siempre sus instrucciones, sus estatutos, sus ordenanzas y sus mandamientos.
2 Knowe ye to day tho thingis whiche youre sones knowen not, `whiche sones sien not the doctryn of youre Lord God, hise grete dedis, and strong hond, and `arm holdun forth,
Conoce hoy — pues no hablo con vuestros hijos que no han conocido y no han visto el castigo de Yahvé vuestro Dios, su grandeza, su mano poderosa, su brazo extendido,
3 myraclis and werkis, whiche he dide `in the myddis of Egipt to Farao, kyng, and to al `the lond of hym, and to al the oost of Egipcians,
sus señales y sus obras, que hizo en medio de Egipto al faraón, rey de Egipto, y a toda su tierra;
4 and to horsis, and carris; hou the watris of the reed see hiliden hem, whanne thei pursueden you, and the Lord `dide awei hem `til in to `present dai;
y lo que hizo al ejército de Egipto, a sus caballos y a sus carros; cómo hizo que las aguas del Mar Rojo se desbordaran mientras os perseguían, y cómo Yahvé los ha destruido hasta el día de hoy;
5 and whiche thingis the Lord dide to you in wildernesse, til ye camen to this place;
y lo que ha hecho con vosotros en el desierto hasta que habéis llegado a este lugar
6 and to Dathan and Abiron, `the sones of Heliab, that was `the sone of Ruben, whiche the erthe swolewide, whanne his mouth was openyd, with `the housis and tabernaclis, and al the catel `of hem which thei hadden, in the myddis of Israel.
y lo que hizo con Datán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab, hijo de Rubén; cómo la tierra abrió su boca y se los tragó, con sus casas, sus tiendas y todo ser viviente que los seguía, en medio de todo Israel;
7 Youre iyen sien alle the grete werkis of the Lord,
pero vuestros ojos han visto toda la gran obra de Yahvé que hizo.
8 whiche he dide, that ye kepe alle hise heestis whiche Y comaunde to dai to you, and that ye moun entre, and welde the lond,
Por lo tanto, guardad todo el mandamiento que hoy te ordeno, para que seáis fuertes, entréis y poseáis la tierra que pasáis a poseer;
9 to which ye schulen entre, and ye lyue therynne in myche time; which lond, flowynge with mylk and hony, the Lord bihiyte vndur an ooth to youre fadris and to `the seed of hem.
y para que prolonguéis vuestros días en la tierra que Yahvé juró a vuestros padres que les daría a ellos y a su descendencia, una tierra que fluye leche y miel.
10 For the lond, to which thou schalt entre to welde, is not as the lond of Egipt, `out of which thou yedist, where whanne the seed is cast in the maner of gardyns, moist waters ben led;
Porque la tierra que vas a poseer no es como la tierra de Egipto de la que saliste, en la que sembraste tu semilla y la regaste con tu pie, como un jardín de hierbas;
11 but it is hilli, and feldi, and abidith reynes fro heuene,
sino que la tierra que vas a poseer es una tierra de colinas y valles que bebe agua de la lluvia del cielo,
12 which lond thi Lord God biholdith, and hise iyen ben therynne, fro the bigynnyng of the yeer `til to the ende therof.
una tierra que Yahvé vuestro Dios cuida. Los ojos del Señor, tu Dios, están siempre sobre ella, desde el principio del año hasta el final del año.
13 Therfor if ye schulen obeie to myn heestis whiche Y comaunde to dai to you, that ye loue youre Lord God, and serue hym in al youre herte, and in al youre soule;
Si escuchas atentamente mis mandamientos que hoy os ordeno, de amar a Yahvé vuestro Dios y de servirle con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma,
14 he schal yyue to youre lond reyn tymeful and late, that ye gadere wheete, and wyn, and oile,
yo daré la lluvia para tu tierra en su tiempo, la lluvia temprana y la lluvia tardía, para que recojas tu grano, tu vino nuevo y tu aceite.
15 hey of the feeldis to feede beestis, that ye bothe ete and be fillid.
Daré hierba en tus campos para tu ganado, y comerás y te saciarás.
16 Be ye war, lest perauenture youre herte be disseyued, and ye go awei fro the Lord, and serue alien goddis, and worschipe hem;
Tened cuidado, no sea que vuestro corazón se engañe y os apartéis para servir a otros dioses y los adoréis;
17 and the Lord be wrooth, and close heuene, and reynes come not doun, nether the erthe yyue his fruyt, and ye perische swiftli fro the beste lond which the Lord schal yyue to you.
y se encienda la ira de Yahvé contra vosotros, y cierre el cielo para que no haya lluvia, y la tierra no dé su fruto; y perezcáis rápidamente de la buena tierra que Yahvé os da.
18 Putte ye thes wordis in youre hertes and soules, and honge ye `tho wordis for a signe in the hondis, and sette ye bitwixe youre iyen.
Por lo tanto, guardaréis estas palabras mías en vuestro corazón y en vuestra alma. Las ataréis como señal en vuestro mano, y serán como frontales entre tus ojos.
19 Teche youre sones, that thei thenke on tho wordis, whanne thou sittist in thin hows, and goist in the weie, and lyggist doun, and risist.
Se las enseñarás a tus hijos, hablando de ellas cuando te sientes en tu casa, cuando andes por el camino, cuando te acuestes y cuando te levantes.
20 Thou schalt write tho wordis on the postis, and yatis of thin hous,
Las escribirás en los postes de tu casa y en tus puertas;
21 that the daies of thee and of thi sones be multiplied in the lond which the Lord swoor to thi fadris, that he schulde yyue to hem, as long as heuene is aboue erthe.
para que vuestros días y los de vuestros hijos se multipliquen en la tierra que Yahvé juró darles a vuestros padres, como los días de los cielos sobre la tierra.
22 For if ye kepen the heestis whiche Y comaunde to you, and ye do tho, that ye loue youre Lord God, and go in alle hise weies,
Porque si guardáis con diligencia todos estos mandamientos que os ordeno — de amar a Yahvé vuestro Dios, de andar por todos sus caminos y de aferraros a él —
23 and cleue to hym, the Lord schal destrie alle these hethen men bifor youre face, and ye schulen welde tho folkis that ben grettere and strongere than ye.
entonces Yahvé expulsará a todas estas naciones de delante de vosotros, y desposeeréis a naciones más grandes y poderosas que vosotros.
24 Ech place which youre foot schal trede, schal be youre; fro the deseert, and fro the Liban, and fro the greet flood Eufrates `til to the west see, schulen be youre termes.
Todo lugar que pise la planta de tu pie será tuyo: desde el desierto y el Líbano, desde el río Éufrates hasta el mar occidental será tu frontera.
25 Noon schal stonde ayens you; youre Lord God schal yiue youre outward drede and inward drede on ech lond which ye schulen trede, as he spak to you.
Ningún hombre podrá hacer frente a vosotros. El Señor, vuestro Dios, infundirá vuestro temor y vuestro miedo en toda la tierra que pises, como te ha dicho.
26 Lo! Y sette forth in youre siyt to day blissyng and cursyng;
He aquí que hoy pongo delante de vosotros una bendición y una maldición:
27 blessyng, if ye obeien to the heestis of youre Lord God, whiche Y comaunde to you to dai;
la bendición, si obedecéis los mandamientos de Yahvé vuestro Dios que hoy te ordeno;
28 cursyng, if ye heren not the heestis of youre Lord God, but goen awei fro the weie which Y schewe now to you, and goen after alien goddis whiche ye knowen not.
y la maldición, si no obedecéis los mandamientos de Yahvé vuestro Dios, y os apartaréis del camino que hoy os ordeno, para ir en pos de otros dioses que no has conocido.
29 Sotheli whanne thi Lord God hath brouyt thee in to the lond, to which to enhabite thou goist, thou schalt sette blessyng on the hil Garisym, cursyng on the hil Hebal, whiche hillis ben biyende Jordan,
Sucederá que cuando el Señor tu Dios te lleve a la tierra que vas a poseer, pondrás la bendición en el monte Gerizim y la maldición en el monte Ebal.
30 aftir the weie that goith to the goyng doun of the sunne, in the lond of Cananey, that dwellith in the feeldi places ayens Galgala, which is bisidis the valey goynge and entrynge fer.
¿No están al otro lado del Jordán, detrás del camino de la puesta del sol, en la tierra de los cananeos que habitan en el Arabá, cerca de Gilgal, junto a los robles de Moreh?
31 For ye schulen passe Jordan, that ye welde the lond which youre Lord God schal yyue to you, and that ye haue and welde that lond.
Porque vosotros pasáis el Jordán para entrar a poseer la tierra que Yahvé vuestro Dios te da, y la poseerás y habitarás en ella.
32 Therfor se ye, `that ye fille the cerymonyes and domes, whiche I schal sette to dai in youre siyt.
Deberás cumplir con todos los estatutos y las ordenanzas que hoy te propongo.
