Amos 2
1 The Lord God seith these thingis, On thre grete trespassis of Moab, and on foure, Y schal not conuerte it, for it brente the boonys of the kyng of Idumee til to aische.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor: El pueblo de Moab ha pecado en repetidas ocasiones, por lo tanto no vacilaré en castigarlos, porque han profanado los huesos del rey de Edom, quemándolos y convirtiéndolos en cal.
2 And Y schal sende fier in to Moab, and it schal deuoure the housis of Carioth; and Moab schal die in sown, in the noise of a trumpe.
Por eso enviaré fuego sobre Moab, y consumiré los castillos de Queriyot; y el pueblo de Moab morirá en medio de la agitación, gritos de batalla y sonido de trompeta.
3 And Y schal leese a iuge of the myddis therof, and Y schal sle with it alle the princes therof, seith the Lord.
Yo eliminaré a su rey y a todos sus príncipes con él, dice el Señor.
4 The Lord seith these thingis, On thre grete trespassis of Juda, and on foure, Y schal not conuerte hym, for he hath caste awei the lawe of the Lord, and kepte not the comaundementis of hym; for her idols, after whiche the fadris of hem yeden, disseyueden hem.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor: El pueblo de Judá ha pecado repetidas veces y no vacilaré en castigarlos, porque han rechazado la ley del Señor y no han guardado sus mandamientos. Sus mentiras los han descarriado. Las mismas mentiras que creyeron sus antepasados.
5 And Y schal sende fier in to Juda, and it schal deuoure the housis of Jerusalem.
Por eso enviaré fuego sobre Judá y consumiré los castillos de Jerusalén.
6 The Lord seith these thingis, On thre grete trespassis of Israel, and on foure, Y schal not conuerte hym, for that that he seelde a iust man for siluer, and a pore man for schoon.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor: El pueblo de Israel ha pecaso muchas veces y por ello no vacilaré en castigarlos, porque vendena personas buenas por plata, y a personas pobres por un par de sandalias.
7 Whiche al to-foulen the heedis of pore men on the dust of erthe, and bowen awei the weie of meke men; and the sone and his fadir yeden to a damesele, that thei schulden defoule myn hooli name.
Ellos pisotean las cabezas de los pobres en el polvo, y tratan a los necesitados con in justicia. Un hombre y su padre tienen relaciones sexuales con la misma criada, y profanan así mi nombre santo.
8 And thei eeten on clothis leid to wedde bisidis ech auter, and drunken the wyn of dampned men in the hous of her God.
Se extienden sobre cualquier altar, vestidos con ropa tomada de sus deudores como pago, en el templo de su dios beben vino arrebatado de las personas a quienes multaron.
9 Forsothe Y distriede Ammorrei fro the face of hem, whos hiynesse was the hiynesse of cedris, and he was strong as an ook; and Y al to-brak the fruyt of hym aboue, and the rootis of hym bynethe.
Sin embargo, yo exterminé a los amorreos delante de ustedes, aunque eran tan grandes como los cedros y tan fuertes como los robles. Los destruí desde la raíz y así mismo su tallo.
10 Y am, that made you to stie fro the lond of Egipt, and ledde you out in desert bi fourti yeer, that ye schulden welde the lond of Ammorrei.
Yo fui quien te sacó de la tierra de Egipto y te conduje por el desierto durante cuarenta años, a fin de que pudieras conquistar el país de los amorreos.
11 And Y reiside of youre sones in to profetis, and Nayareis of youre yonge men. Whether it is not so, ye sones of Israel? seith the Lord.
Designé a algunos de tus hijos como profetas, y a algunos de tus jóvenes como nazareos. ¿No es así, pueblo de Israel?
12 And ye birliden wyn to Nayareis, and comaundiden to profetis, and seiden, Profecie ye not.
Pero tú has hecho pecar a los nazareos, dándoles vino para beber; y a los profetas les has dicho: “No nos hables de la palabra de Dios”.
13 Lo! Y schal charke vndur you, as a wayn chargid with hei charkith.
Ahora miren lo que voy a hacer: Los aplastaré justo donde están, como lo haría un carro cargado de gavillas de grano.
14 And fliyt schal perische fro a swift man, and a strong man schal not holde his vertu, and a stalworthe man schal not saue his lijf;
Ni siquiera los más veloces podrán escapar; y los hombres fuertes perderán su fuerza. Incluso el guerrero más fuerte podrá salvar su vida.
15 and he that holdith a bowe schal not stonde, and a swift man schal not be sauyd by hise feet; and the stiere of an hors schal not saue his lijf,
El arquero no podrá mantenerse en pie. Ni siquiera los más rápidos podrán huir, y tampoco los que van a caballo podrán salvarse.
16 and a stronge man of herte schal fle nakid among stronge men in that dai, seith the Lord.
Ese día, hasta los guerreros más valientes huirán desnudos, dice el Señor.
