Acts 17
1 And whanne thei hadden passid bi Amfipolis and Appollonye, thei camen to Thessolonyk, where was a synagoge of Jewis.
೧ಪೌಲ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀಲರು ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಅಂಫಿಫೊಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪೊಲೋನ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಥೆಸಲೋನಿಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಒಂದು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರವಿತ್ತು.
2 And bi custom Poul entride to hem, and bi thre sabatis he declaride to hem of scripturis,
೨ಪೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮೂರು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ವಾದಿಸಿ,
3 and openyde, and schewide that it bihofte Crist to suffre, and rise ayen fro deth, and that this is Jhesus Crist, whom Y telle to you.
೩ಆಯಾ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ; ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಬಾಧೆಯನ್ನನುಭವಿಸಿ ಸತ್ತು, ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವುದು ಅಗತ್ಯವೆಂತಲೂ “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುವ ಯೇಸುವೇ ಆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂತಲೂ” ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
4 And summe of hem bileueden, and weren ioyned to Poul and to Silas; and a greet multitude of hethene men worschipide God, and noble wymmen not a fewe.
೪ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರೂ ದೈವಭಕ್ತರಾದ ಗ್ರೀಕರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರೂ ಒಡಂಬಟ್ಟು ಪೌಲ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀಲರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡರು.
5 But the Jewis hadden enuye, and token of the comyn puple summe yuele men, and whanne thei hadden maad a cumpenye, thei moueden the citee. And thei camen to Jasouns hous, and souyten hem to brynge forth among the puple.
೫ನಂಬದಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಟ್ಟು ಪೇಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡುವ ಕೆಲವು ಪುಂಡರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ಗದ್ದಲ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಪೌಲ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀಲರನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸಭೆ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ತರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾ ಯಾಸೋನನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿದರು.
6 And whanne thei founden hem not, thei drowen Jasoun and summe britheren to the princis of the citee, and crieden, That these it ben, that mouen the world, and hidir thei camen,
೬ಅವರು ಸಿಕ್ಕದೆ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಜನರು ಯಾಸೋನನನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ ಊರಿನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ; “ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಕಲ್ಲೋಲ ಮಾಡಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೂ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
7 whiche Jason resseyuede. And these alle don ayens the maundementis of the emperour, and seien, that Jhesu is anothir king.
೭ಯಾಸೋನನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಯೇಸುವೆಂಬ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನು ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಯ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದರು.
8 And thei moueden the puple, and the princis of the citee, herynge these thingis.
೮ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕಳವಳಪಟ್ಟು
9 And whanne satisfaccioun was takun of Jason, and of othere, thei leten Poul and Silas go.
೯ಯಾಸೋನ ಮೊದಲಾದವರಿಂದ ಜಾಮೀನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
10 And anoon bi niyt britheren leten Silas go in to Beroan. And whanne thei camen thidur, thei entriden in to the synagoge of the Jewis.
೧೦ಆ ಸಹೋದರರು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌಲ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀಲರನ್ನು ಬೆರೋಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು.
11 But these weren the worthier of hem that ben at Thessolonik, whiche resseyueden the word with al desire, eche dai sekinge scripturis, if these thingis hadden hem so.
೧೧ಆ ಸಭೆಯವರು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿ ಇವರು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತು ಹೌದೋ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗ್ರಂಥಗಳನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಥೆಸಲೋನಿಕದವರಿಗಿಂತ ಸದ್ಗುಣವುಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
12 And manye of hem bileueden and of hethen wymmen onest and men not a fewe.
೧೨ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಲೀನರಾದ ಅನೇಕ ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ಹೆಂಗಸರು, ಗಂಡಸರು ನಂಬಿದರು.
13 But whanne the Jewis in Tessalonyk hadden knowe, that also at Bero the word of God was prechid of Poul, thei camen thidir, mouynge and disturblynge the multitude.
೧೩ಆದರೆ ಪೌಲನು ಬೆರೋಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಥೆಸಲೋನಿಕದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೂ ಬಂದು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸಿ ಕದಡಿದರು.
14 And tho anoon britheren delyuerden Poul, that he schulde go to the see; but Sylas and Tymothe dwelten there.
೧೪ಕೂಡಲೇ ಸಹೋದರರು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ತನಕ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಆದರೆ ಸೀಲನೂ, ತಿಮೊಥೆಯನೂ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತರು.
15 And thei that ledden forth Poul, ledden hym to Atenes. And whanne thei hadden take maundement of him to Silas and to Tymothe, that ful hiyyngli thei schulden come to hym, thei wenten forth.
೧೫ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಥೇನೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು, ಸೀಲನನ್ನೂ, ತಿಮೊಥೆಯನನ್ನೂ ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಬೇಗ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪೌಲನಿಂದ ಹೊಂದಿ ಹೊರಟುಬಂದರು.
16 And while Poul abood hem at Atenys, his spirit was moued in him, for he saiy the citee youun to ydolatrie.
೧೬ಪೌಲನು ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಥೇನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವಾಗ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳೇ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಕುದಿಯಿತು.
17 Therfor he disputide in the synagoge with the Jewis, and with men that worschipiden God, and in the dom place, by alle daies to hem that herden.
೧೭ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯ ಮತಾವಲಂಬಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಪೇಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದವರ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದನು.
18 And summe Epeicureis, and Stoisens, and filosofris disputiden with hym. And summe seiden, What wole this sowere of wordis seie? And othere seiden, He semeth to be a tellere of newe fendis; for he telde to hem Jhesu, and the ayenrisyng.
೧೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಪಿಕೂರಿಯನ್ನರು, ಸ್ತೋಯಿಕರು ಎಂಬ ತತ್ವವಿಚಾರಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಚರ್ಚೆಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು; “ಈ ವಾಚಾಳಿ ಏನು ಹೇಳ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ?” ಅಂದರು. ಅವನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ತವರು ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವರೆಂಬುದರ ಕುರಿತು ಸಾರುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ; “ಇವನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶದ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚಾರಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು” ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
19 And thei token, and ledden hym to Ariopage, and seide, Moun we wite, what is this newe doctryne, that is seid of thee?
೧೯ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅರಿಯೊಪಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ; “ನೀನು ಹೇಳುವ ಈ ಹೊಸ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದೇ?
20 For thou bringist ynne summe newe thingis to oure eeris; therfor we wolen wite, what these thingis wolen be.
೨೦ಅಪೂರ್ವವಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅದೇನು ಎಂಬುದರ ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ” ಅಂದರು.
21 For alle men of Athenys and comlingis herborid yauen tent to noon other thing, but ether to seie, ethir to here, sum newe thing.
೨೧ಅಥೇನೆಯರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪರಸ್ಥಳದವರೂ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನೂ, ಕೇಳುವುದನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಸಮಯ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
22 And Poul stood in the myddil of Ariopage, and seide, Men of Athenys, bi alle thingis Y se you as veyn worschipers.
೨೨ಪೌಲನು ಅರಿಯೊಪಾಗದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ; “ಅಥೇನೆಯ ಜನರೇ, ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಾದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅತಿ ದೈವಭಕ್ತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತೋರುತ್ತಿದೆ.
23 For Y passide, and siy youre maumetis, and foond an auter, in which was writun, To the vnknowun God. Therfor which thing ye vnknowynge worschipen, this thing Y schew to you.
೨೩ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಾ ನೀವು ಪೂಜಿಸುವ ದೇವತಾ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಒಂದು ಬಲಿಪೀಠವು ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು; ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ‘ತಿಳಿಯದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ’ ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿತ್ತು; ಆದಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರೋ ಅದನ್ನೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಕೇಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
24 God that made the world and alle thingis that ben in it, this, for he is Lord of heuene and of erthe, dwellith not in templis maad with hoond,
೨೪“ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಗುಡಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವವನಲ್ಲ;
25 nethir is worschipid bi mannus hoondis, nether hath nede of ony thing, for he yyueth lijf to alle men, and brethinge, and alle thingis;
೨೫ತಾನೇ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಜೀವಶ್ವಾಸ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೀವಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವವನಾಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಕೊರತೆಯಿದ್ದವನಂತೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ ಸೇವೆಹೊಂದುವವನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
26 and made of oon al the kinde of men to enhabite on al the face of the erthe, determynynge tymes ordeyned, and termes of the dwellynge of hem,
೨೬ದೇವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಅವರವರು ಇರತಕ್ಕ ಕಾಲಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಗು ಅವರವರ ನಿವಾಸಗಳ ಮೇರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಷ್ಕರ್ಷಿಸಿ ಭೂಮಂಡಲದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿ,
27 to seke God, if perauenture thei felen hym, ether fynden, thouy he be not fer fro eche of you.
೨೭ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅವರು ತಡವಾಗಿಯಾದರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಾರೇನೋ ಎಂದು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೂ ದೂರವಾದವನಲ್ಲ.
28 For in hym we lyuen, and mouen, and ben. As also summe of youre poetis seiden, And we ben also the kynde of hym.
೨೮ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಾವು ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಚಲಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು, ‘ನಾವು ಆತನ ಸಂತಾನದವರೇ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
29 Therfor sithen we ben the kynde of God, we schulen not deme, that godli thing is lijk gold, and siluer, ethir stoon, ethir to grauyng of craft and thouyt of man.
೨೯“ನಾವು ದೇವರ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಶಿಲ್ಪವಿದ್ಯೆಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕೆತ್ತಿರುವ ಚಿನ್ನ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನವೆಂದು ನಾವು ಭಾವಿಸಬಾರದು.
30 For God dispisith the tymes of this vnkunnyng, and now schewith to men, that alle euery where doon penaunce; for that he hath ordeyned a dai,
೩೦ಆ ಆಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕಾಲಗಳನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಗಣನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಈಗಲಾದರೋ ಆತನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
31 in which he schal deme the world in equite, in a man in which he ordeynede, and yaf feith to alle men, and reiside hym fro deth.
೩೧ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಆತನು ನಿಷ್ಕರ್ಷೆಮಾಡಿದ ಪುರುಷನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನೀತಿಗನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನವನ್ನು ಗೊತ್ತು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನನ್ನು ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇದನ್ನು ನಂಬುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ದೃಷ್ಟಾಂತವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
32 And whanne thei hadden herd the ayenrysing of deed men, summe scorneden, and summe seiden, We schulen here thee eft of this thing.
೩೨ಸತ್ತವರು ಎದ್ದುಬರುವ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಕೆಲವರು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿದರು, ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವರು; “ನೀನು ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಅಂದರು.
33 So Poul wente out of the myddil of hem.
೩೩ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಪೌಲನು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
34 But summen drowen to hym, and bileueden. Among whiche Dynyse Aropagite was, and a womman, bi name Damaris, and othere men with hem.
೩೪ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ನಂಬಿದರು; ನಂಬಿದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಿಯೊಪಾಗದ ಸಭೆಯವನಾದ ದಿಯೊನುಸ್ಯನೂ, ದಾಮರಿಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಯೂ ಹಾಗು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರೂ ಇದ್ದರು.
