2 Thessalonians 2
1 But, britheren, we preien you bi the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, and of oure congregacioun in to the same comyng,
Și vă implorăm, fraților, referitor la venirea Domnului nostru Isus Cristos și adunarea noastră la el,
2 that ye be not mouyd soone fro youre witt, nether be aferd, nether bi spirit, nether bi word, nether bi epistle as sent bi vs, as if the dai of the Lord be nyy.
Ca voi să nu vă lăsați repede clătinați în minte, nici tulburați, nici prin duh, nici prin cuvânt, nici prin epistolă ca de la noi, de parcă ziua lui Cristos este aici.
3 No man disseyue you in ony manere. For but dissencioun come first, and the man of synne be schewid, the sonne of perdicioun,
Nimeni să nu vă înșele în niciun fel, pentru că ziua aceea nu va veni înainte să vină o apostazie și să fie revelat omul păcatului, fiul pieirii,
4 that is aduersarie, and is enhaunsid ouer `al thing that is seid God, or that is worschipid, so that he sitte in the temple of God, and schewe hym silf as if he were God.
Care se opune și se înalță pe sine însuși peste tot ce este numit Dumnezeu sau lucru ce este demn de închinare; așa că el, ca Dumnezeu, șade în templul lui Dumnezeu, arătându-se pe sine însuși că este Dumnezeu.
5 Whether ye holden not, that yit whanne Y was at you, Y seide these thingis to you?
Nu vă amintiți că, atunci când încă eram cu voi, v-am spus acestea?
6 And now what withholdith, ye witen, that he be schewid in his tyme.
Și acum știți ce îl oprește ca el să fie revelat la timpul său.
7 For the priuete of wickidnesse worchith now; oneli that he that holdith now, holde, til he be do awei.
Fiindcă misterul nelegiuirii lucrează deja, numai că cel ce îl oprește acum îl va opri până când va fi luat din cale.
8 And thanne thilke wickid man schal be schewid, whom the Lord Jhesu schal sle with the spirit of his mouth, and schal distrie with liytnyng of his comyng;
Și atunci va fi revelat cel nelegiuit, pe care Domnul îl va mistui cu duhul gurii sale și îl va nimici cu strălucirea venirii sale,
9 hym, whos comyng is bi the worching of Sathanas, in al vertu, and signes,
Cel nelegiuit, a cărui venire este după lucrarea lui Satan, cu toată puterea și semnele și minunile mincinoase,
10 and grete wondris, false, and in al disseit of wickidnesse, to hem that perischen. For that thei resseyueden not the charite of treuthe, that thei schulden be maad saaf.
Și cu toată înșelătoria nedreptății în cei ce pier, pentru că nu au primit dragostea adevărului, ca să fie salvați.
11 And therfor God schal sende to hem a worching of errour, that thei bileue to leesing,
Și din această cauză Dumnezeu le va trimite o puternică amăgire, ca ei să creadă o minciună,
12 that alle be demed, whiche bileueden not to treuthe, but consentiden to wickidnesse.
Ca să fie damnați toți cei ce nu au crezut adevărul ci și-au găsit plăcerea în nedreptate.
13 But, britheren louyd of God, we owen to do thankyngis euermore to God for you, that God chees vs the firste fruytis in to heelthe, in halewing of spirit and in feith of treuthe;
Dar noi suntem datori să aducem totdeauna mulțumiri lui Dumnezeu pentru voi, frați iubiți de Domnul, pentru că Dumnezeu v-a ales de la început pentru salvare prin sfințirea Duhului și credința adevărului,
14 in which also he clepide you bi oure gospel, in to geting of the glorie of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
La care v-a chemat prin evanghelia noastră, pentru obținerea gloriei Domnului nostru, Isus Cristos.
15 Therfor, britheren, stonde ye, and holde ye the tradiciouns, that ye han lerud, ethir bi word, ethir bi oure pistle.
De aceea, fraților, stați neclintiți și țineți tradițiile pe care le-ați învățat, fie prin cuvânt, fie prin epistola noastră.
16 And oure Lord Jhesu Crist him silf, and God oure fadir, which louyde vs, and yaf euerlastinge coumfort and good hope in grace, (aiōnios g166)
Iar însuși Domnul nostru Isus Cristos și Dumnezeu, adică Tatăl nostru, care ne-a iubit și ne-a dat mângâiere veșnică și bună speranță prin har, (aiōnios g166)
17 stire youre hertis, and conferme in al good werk and word.
Să vă mângâie inimile și să vă întărească în fiecare cuvânt bun și lucrare.
