2 Thessalonians 1

1 Poul, and Siluan, and Tymothe, to the chirche of Tessalonicensis, in God oure fadir,

Pavel in Silván ter Timótej, cerkvi Tesaloníčanov v Bogu, našem Očetu in Gospodu Jezusu Kristusu:

2 and in the Lord Jhesu Crist, grace to you and pees of God, oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.

›Milost vam in mir od Boga, našega Očeta in Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.‹

3 We owen to do thankyngis eueremore to God for you, britheren, so as it is worthi, for youre feith ouer wexith, and the charite of ech of you to othere aboundith.

Dolžni smo, da se vedno zahvaljujemo Bogu za vas, bratje, kakor se spodobi, zato ker ta vaša vera silno raste in je ljubezen vsakogar izmed vas vseh do drug drugega obilna,

4 So that we silf glorien in you in the chirchis of God, for youre pacience and feith in alle youre persecuciouns and tribulaciouns.

tako, da se mi sami ponašamo z vami po Božjih cerkvah, zaradi vaše potrpežljivosti in vere, v vseh vaših preganjanjih in stiskah, ki jih prenašate;

5 Whiche ye susteynen in to the ensaumple of the iust dom of God, that ye be had worthi in the kingdom of God, for which ye suffren.

kar je razpoznaven simbol pravične Božje sodbe, da boste lahko šteti vredne Božjega kraljestva, za katerega tudi trpite.

6 If netheles it is iust tofor God to quite tribulacioun to hem that troblen you,

Čeprav je pri Bogu pravična stvar, da poplača stisko tem, ki vas stiskajo;

7 and to you that ben troblid, rest with vs in the schewing of the Lord Jhesu fro heuene, with aungelis of his vertu,

vam pa, ki ste stiskani, počitek z nami, ko se bo Gospod Jezus, razodet iz nebes, s svojimi mogočnimi angeli,

8 in the flawme of fier, that schal yyue veniaunce to hem that knowen not God, and that obeien not to the euangelie of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.

v plamenečem ognju maščeval na teh, ki ne poznajo Boga in ne ubogajo evangelija našega Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa;

9 Whiche schulen suffre euere lastinge peynes, in perischinge fro the face of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his vertu, (aiōnios g166)

ki bodo kaznovani z večnim uničenjem proč od Gospodove prisotnosti in proč od slave njegove moči; (aiōnios g166)

10 whanne he schal come to be glorified in hise seyntis, and to be maad wondurful in alle men that bileueden, for oure witnessing is bileuyd on you, in that dai.

ko bo prišel, da bo proslavljen v svojih svetih in da bo občudovan v vseh teh, ki verujejo (ker so verovali našemu pričevanju med vami) na tisti dan.

11 In which thing also we preien euere more for you, that oure God make you worthi to his cleping, and fille al the wille of his goodnesse, and the werk of feith in vertu;

Zatorej tudi vedno molimo za vas, da vas bo naš Bog imel za vredne te poklicanosti in izpolnite vso dobro voljo njegove dobrote ter delo vere v môči;

12 that the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist be clarified in you, and ye in hym, bi the grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.

da bo v vas lahko proslavljeno ime našega Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa in vi v njem, glede na milost našega Boga in Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.
