10 Forsothe the herte of Dauid smoot hym, `that is, his concience repreuyde hym, aftir that the puple was noumbrid; and Dauid seide to the Lord, Y synnede greetli in this dede; but, Lord, Y preye that thou turne awei the wickidnesse of thi seruaunt, for Y dide ful folili.
Pea naʻe valoki ʻa Tevita ʻe hono loto hili ʻa ʻene lau ʻae kakai. Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita kia Sihova, kuo u fai angahala lahi ʻi he meʻa ʻaia kuo u fai: pea ko eni, “ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ou kole kiate koe ke ʻave ʻae hia ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeiki; he kuo u fai vale lahi ʻaupito.”
11 Therfor Dauid roos eerli, and the word of the Lord was maad to Gad, the prophete and seere, and seide, Go thou,

13 And whanne Gad hadde come to Dauid, he telde to Dauid, and seide, Ether hungur schal come to thee in thi lond seuene yeer; ethir thre monethis thou schalt fle thin aduersaries, and thei schulen pursue thee; ether certis thre daies pestilence schal be in thi lond; now therfor delyuere thou, `ether auyse thou, and se, what word Y schal answere to hym that sente me.

Pe te ke fie hola ʻi he māhina ʻe tolu mei he ʻao ʻo ho ngaahi fili, ka nau tulia koe? Pe[te ke fili ]ke ai ha mahaki fakaʻauha ʻi ho fonua ʻi he ʻaho ʻe tolu? Fakakaukau eni ki ai, pea vakai pe ko e hā ha lea te u toe lea ʻaki kiate ia naʻa ne fekauʻi au.”
14 Forsothe Dauid seide to Gad, Y am constreyned on ech side greetli; but it is betere that Y falle in to the hondis of the Lord, for his emercies ben manye, than in the hondis of men.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita kia Kata, “Kuo ʻefihiaʻi lahi ʻaupito au: tuku eni ketau hinga atu ki he nima ʻo Sihova: he ʻoku lahi ʻa ʻene ʻaloʻofa: kaeʻoua naʻaku tō atu ki he nima ʻoe tangata.”

18 Forsothe Gad, the prophete, cam to Dauid in that dai, and seide to hym, Stie thou, and ordeyne an auter to the Lord in the corn floor of Areuna Jebusei.

Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ʻAlauna, “Ko e hā kuo haʻu ai ʻa hoku ʻeiki ko e tuʻi ki heʻene tamaioʻeiki?” Pea naʻe pehēange ʻe Tevita, “Koeʻuhi ke u fakatau meiate koe ʻae hahaʻanga uite, ke fokotuʻu ai ha feilaulauʻanga kia Sihova, ke ngata ai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha mei he kakai.”
22 And Areuna seide to Dauid, My lord the kyng take, and offre, as it plesith hym; thou hast oxis in to brent sacrifice, and a wayn and yockis of oxis in to vss of wode.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ʻAlauna kia Tevita, “Tuku ke toʻo ʻe hoku ʻeiki ko e tuʻi mo ne feilaulau ʻaki ha meʻa ʻoku lelei kiate ia: vakai, ʻoku ʻi heni ʻae fanga pulu ki he feilaulau tutu, mo e nāunau ʻoe haha uite, mo e nāunau ʻoe fanga pulu ke fefie ʻaki.”

24 To whom the king answeride, and seide, Not as thou wolt, but Y schal bie of thee for prijs, and Y schal not offre to `my Lord God brent sacrifices youun freli. Therfor Dauid bouyte the corn floor, and `he bouyte oxis for fifti siclis of siluer.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi kia ʻAlauna, “ʻE ʻikai pehē; ka te u fakatau moʻoni ia meiate koe ʻaki ha totongi: pea ʻe ʻikai foki te u ʻatu ha feilaulau tutu kia Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, ʻi ha meʻa kuo u maʻu taʻetotongi.” Pea ko ia naʻe fakatau ai ʻe Tevita ʻae hahaʻanga uite, pea mo e fanga pulu, ʻaki ʻae sikeli siliva ʻe nimangofulu.
25 And Dauid bildide there an auter to the Lord, and offride brent sacrifices and pesible sacrifices; and the Lord dide merci to the lond, and the veniaunce was refreyned fro Israel.
Pea naʻe fokotuʻu ʻi ai ʻe Tevita ha feilaulauʻanga kia Sihova, pea ne ʻatu ʻi ai ʻae ngaahi feilaulau tutu mo e ngaahi feilaulau fakamelino. Pea pehē, naʻe fakakolekolea ʻa Sihova koeʻuhi ko e fonua, pea naʻe taʻofi ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha mei ʻIsileli.
