2 Samuel 23

1 Forsothe these ben the laste wordis, whiche Dauid, the sone of Ysai, seide. The man seide, to whom it is ordeyned of Crist, of the God of Jacob, the noble salm makere of Israel;

Estas son las postreras palabras de David. Dijo David hijo de Isaí: y dijo aquel varón que fue levantado alto, el ungido del Dios de Jacob, el suave en cánticos de Israel:

2 The spiryt of the Lord spak bi me, and his word bi my tunge.

El Espíritu de Jehová ha hablado por mí, y su palabra ha sido en mi lengua.

3 Dauid seide, God of Israel spak to me, the stronge of Israel, the `iust Lord of men, `is Lord in the drede of God.

El Dios de Israel me ha dictado: El Fuerte de Israel habló: Señoreador de los hombres, justo señoreador en temor de Dios.

4 As the liyt of the morewtid, whanne the sunne risith eerli, is briyt with out cloudis; and as an erbe cometh forth of the erthe bi reynes.

Y como la luz de la mañana cuando sale el sol, de la mañana sin nubes resplandeciente, cuando cae lluvia sobre la yerba de la tierra:

5 And myn hows is not so greet anentis God, that he schulde make with me euerlastynge couenaunt, stidefast and maad strong in alle thingis; for al myn helthe hangith of him, and al the wille `that is, al my desir, goith in to hym, and no thing is therof, that makith not fruyt.

No será así mi casa para con Dios: mas él ha hecho conmigo concierto perpetuo, ordenado en todas las cosas y seguro; por lo cual a toda mi salud, y a toda mi voluntad no así hará producir.

6 Forsothe alle trespassouris schulen be drawun out as thornes, that ben not takun with hondis.

Mas los hijos de Belial serán como espinas arrancadas todos ellos, las cuales nadie toma con la mano:

7 And if ony man wole touche tho, he schal be armed with irun, and with tre formed in to spere; and the thornes schulen be kyndlid, and schulen be brent `til to nouyt.

Mas el que quiere tocar en ellas, ármase de hierro, y de una asta de lanza, y son quemadas en su lugar.

8 These ben the names of the stronge men of Dauid. Dauid sittith in the chaier, the wiseste prince among thre; he is as a moost tendir worm of tree, that killide eiyte hundrid with o fersnesse.

Estos son los nombres de los varones valientes que tuvo David. El que se asentó en cátedra de sabiduría, principal de los tres, Adino Hesneo, que una vez fue sobre ochocientos muertos.

9 Aftir hym was Eleazar, the sone of his fadirs brother Abohi; among thre stronge men, that weren with Dauid, whanne thei seiden schenschip to Filisteis, and weren gaderid thidir in to batel.

Después de este fue Eleazar, hijo de Dodo, hijo de Ahohi, entre los tres valientes que estaban con David, cuando desafiaron a los Filisteos, que se habían juntado allí a la batalla, cuando subieron los de Israel.

10 And whanne the men of Israel hadden stied, he stood, and smoot Filisties, til his hond failide, and was starke with the swerd. And the Lord made greet helthe in that dai; and the puple that fledde turnedc ayen to drawe awei the spuylis of slayn men.

Este levantándose hirió a los Filisteos hasta que su mano se cansó, y quedó su mano pegada a la espada. Aquel día Jehová hizo gran salud, y el pueblo se volvió en pos de él solamente a tomar el despojo.

11 And aftir hym was Semma, the sone of Age, of Arari. And Filisteis weren gaderid in the stacioun; forsothe there was a feeld ful of lente; and whanne the puple fledde fro the face of Filisteis,

Después de este fue Samma, hijo de Age, Arareo: Que habiéndose juntado los Filisteos en una aldea, había allí una suerte de tierra llena de lentejas, y el pueblo había huido delante de los Filisteos:

12 he stood in the myddis of the feeld, and bihelde it; and he smoot Filisteis, and the Lord made greet helthe.

Este entonces se paró en medio de la suerte de tierra, y defendióla, e hirió a los Filisteos, y Jehová hizo una gran salud.

13 Also and thre men yeden doun bifore, that weren princes among thretti, and camen to Dauid in the tyme of reep in to the denne of Odollam. Forsothe the castels of Filisteis weren set in the valei of giauntis.

Estos tres que eran de los treinta principales, descendieron y vinieron en tiempo de la siega a David a la cueva de Odollam: y el campo de los Filisteos estaba en el valle de Rafaim.

14 And Dauid was in a strong hold; sotheli the stacioun of Filisteis was thanne in Bethleem.

David entonces estaba en la fortaleza, y la guarnición de los Filisteos estaba en Belén.

15 Therfor Dauid desiride water of the lake, and seide, If ony man wolde yyue to me drynk of watir of the cisterne, which is in Bethleem, bisidis the yate.

Y David tuvo deseo, y dijo: ¡Quién me diera de beber del agua de la cisterna de Belén, que está a la puerta!

16 Therfor thre stronge men braken in to the castels of Filisteis, and drowen watir of the cisterne of Bethleem, that was bisidis the yate, and brouyten to Dauid; and he nolde drinke,

Entonces estos tres valientes rompieron en el campo de los Filisteos, y sacaron del agua de la cisterna de Belén, que estaba a la puerta, y tomaron, y trajéronla a David: mas él no la quiso beber, sino derramóla a Jehová, diciendo:

17 but offride it to the Lord, and seide, The Lord be merciful to me, that Y do not this; whether Y schal drynke the blood of these men, that yeden forth, and the perel of soulis? Therfor he nolde drynke. Thre strongeste men diden thes thingis.

Lejos sea de mí, oh Jehová, que yo haga esto. ¿La sangre de los varones que fueron por ella con peligro de su vida tengo de beber? Y no quiso beber de ella. Estos tres valientes hicieron esto.

18 Also Abisay, brother of Joab, the sone of Saruye, was prince of thre; he it is that reiside his schaft ayens thre hundrid men, whiche he killide; `he was nemid among thre,

Y Abisaí hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, fue el principal de tres: el cual alzó su lanza contra trescientos, los cuales mató, y tuvo nombre entre los tres.

19 and was the noblere among thre, and he was the prince of hem; but he cam not to the thre firste men.

El fue el más noble de los tres, y el primero de ellos, mas no llegó a los tres primeros.

20 And Banaye, the sone of Joiada, strongeste man of grete werkis, of Capseel, he smoot twei liouns of Moab, `that is, twei knyytis hardi as liouns; and he yede doun, and smoot a lioun in the myddil cisterne in the daies of snow.

Banaías, hijo de Joiada, hijo de un varón esforzado, grande en hechos, de Cabseel. Este hirió dos leones de Moab. Y él mismo descendió, e hirió un león en medio del foso en el tiempo de la nieve.

21 Also he killide a man of Egipt, a man worthi of spectacle, hauynge a spere in the hond; therfor whanne he hadde come doun with a yerde to that man, bi miyt he wrooth out the spere fro the hond of the man of Egipt, and killide hym with his owne spere.

Y el mismo hirió a un Egipcio, hombre de grande estatura; y el Egipcio tenía una lanza en su mano: y él descendió a él con un palo, y arrebató al Egipcio la lanza de la mano, y con su misma lanza le mató.

22 Banaye, sone of Joiada, dide these thingis;

Esto hizo Banaías, hijo de Joiada, y tuvo nombre entre los tres valientes.

23 and he was nemyed among thre stronge men, that weren among the thretti noblere men; netheles he cam not til to the thre. And Dauid made hym a counselour of priuyte to hym silf.

De los treinta fue el más noble; mas no llegó a los tres primeros. Y púsole David en su consejo.

24 Asahel, the brother of Joab, was among thretti men; Eleanan, the sone of his fadris brother, of Bethleem; Semma, of Arari;

Asael hermano de Joab fue de los treinta: Elhanán, hijo de Dodo, de Belén:

25 Elcha, of Arodi; Helas, of Phelti;

Semma de Harodi: Elica de Harodi.

26 Hira, sone of Aches, of Thecua; Abiezer, of Amatoth;

Heles de Falti: Ira, hijo de Acces, de Tecua:

27 Mobannoy, of Cosathi; Selmon, of Achotes;

Abiezer de Anatot: Mobonnai de Husa:

28 Macharai, of Nethopath;

Selmón de Ahoh: Majarai de Netofat:

29 Heled, the sone of Baana, and he was of Netophath; Hiray, sone of Rabai, of Gebeeth, of the sones of Beniamyn; Banay, of Effrata;

Heleb, hijo de Baana de Netofat: Itai, hijo de Ribai, de Gabaat, de los hijos de Ben-jamín:

30 Hedday, of the stronde of Gaas;

Banaia de Faraton: Heddai del arroyo de Gaas:

31 Abiadon, of Arbath; Asmaneth, of Berromy;

Abi-albón de Arbat: Azmavet de Barumi:

32 Eliaba, of Sabony; sones of Assen, Jonathan, and Jasan; Semma, of Herodi;

Eliaba, de Salaboni. Los hijos de Jasén, Jonatán:

33 Hayam, sone of Sarai, of Zaroth;

Semma de Orori: Ahiam, hijo de Sarar, de Arar:

34 Eliphelech, sone of Saalbai, the sone of Maachati; Heliam, sone of Achitofel, of Gilo;

Elifelet, hijo de Aasbai, hijo de Macati: Eliam, hijo de Aquitofel, de Gelon:

35 Esrai, of Carmele; Pharai, of Arbi;

Hesrai de Carmelo: Farai de Arbi:

36 Ygaal, sone of Nathan, of Soba;

Igaal, hijo de Natán, de Soba: Bani de Gadi:

37 Bonny, of Gaddi; Silech, of Ammony; Naarai, of Beroth, the squyer of Joab, the sone of Saruye;

Selec de Ammón: Naharai de Berot, escudero de Joab, hijo de Sarvia:

38 Haray, of Jethri; Gareb, and he was of Gethri;

Ira de Jetri: Gareb de Jetri:

39 Vrye, of Ethei; alle weren seuene and thretti men.
