2 Samuel 23
1 Forsothe these ben the laste wordis, whiche Dauid, the sone of Ysai, seide. The man seide, to whom it is ordeyned of Crist, of the God of Jacob, the noble salm makere of Israel;
੧ਇਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਬਚਨ ਹਨ। ਦਾਊਦ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਸੀਲਾ ਕਵੀਸ਼ਰ ਸੀ।
2 The spiryt of the Lord spak bi me, and his word bi my tunge.
੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ।
3 Dauid seide, God of Israel spak to me, the stronge of Israel, the `iust Lord of men, `is Lord in the drede of God.
੩ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭੈਅ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
4 As the liyt of the morewtid, whanne the sunne risith eerli, is briyt with out cloudis; and as an erbe cometh forth of the erthe bi reynes.
੪ਉਹ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਸੂਰਜ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਦਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ, ਅਤੇ ਘਾਹ ਵਰਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਧੁੱਪ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
5 And myn hows is not so greet anentis God, that he schulde make with me euerlastynge couenaunt, stidefast and maad strong in alle thingis; for al myn helthe hangith of him, and al the wille `that is, al my desir, goith in to hym, and no thing is therof, that makith not fruyt.
੫ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਨੇਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਠੀਕ-ਠਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਚਾਹ ਹੈ। ਭਲਾ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ?
6 Forsothe alle trespassouris schulen be drawun out as thornes, that ben not takun with hondis.
੬ਪਰ ਬੇਧਰਮ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਸੁੱਟੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਓਹ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਫੜ੍ਹੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ।
7 And if ony man wole touche tho, he schal be armed with irun, and with tre formed in to spere; and the thornes schulen be kyndlid, and schulen be brent `til to nouyt.
੭ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਹੇ ਜਾਂ ਬਰਛੀ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
8 These ben the names of the stronge men of Dauid. Dauid sittith in the chaier, the wiseste prince among thre; he is as a moost tendir worm of tree, that killide eiyte hundrid with o fersnesse.
੮ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਹ ਹਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਤਾਹਕਮੋਨੀ ਯੋਸ਼ੇਬ-ਬੱਸ਼ਬਥ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹੋ ਹੀ ਅਦੀਨੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਜਨੀ ਸਦਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਅੱਠ ਸੌ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਰਛਾ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕੋ ਵਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।
9 Aftir hym was Eleazar, the sone of his fadirs brother Abohi; among thre stronge men, that weren with Dauid, whanne thei seiden schenschip to Filisteis, and weren gaderid thidir in to batel.
੯ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਦੋਦੋ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਅਹੋਹੀ ਦਾ ਪੋਤਰਾ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ, ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਲਲਕਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
10 And whanne the men of Israel hadden stied, he stood, and smoot Filisties, til his hond failide, and was starke with the swerd. And the Lord made greet helthe in that dai; and the puple that fledde turnedc ayen to drawe awei the spuylis of slayn men.
੧੦ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਐਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਠ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਵੱਡੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਲੁੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਆਏ।
11 And aftir hym was Semma, the sone of Age, of Arari. And Filisteis weren gaderid in the stacioun; forsothe there was a feeld ful of lente; and whanne the puple fledde fro the face of Filisteis,
੧੧ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਹਰਾਰੀ ਅਗੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਪੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਸਰ ਬੀਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਪੱਠੇ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ।
12 he stood in the myddis of the feeld, and bihelde it; and he smoot Filisteis, and the Lord made greet helthe.
੧੨ਉਹ ਉਸ ਪੈਲੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
13 Also and thre men yeden doun bifore, that weren princes among thretti, and camen to Dauid in the tyme of reep in to the denne of Odollam. Forsothe the castels of Filisteis weren set in the valei of giauntis.
੧੩ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੀਹਾਂ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਦੁੱਲਾਮ ਦੀ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਢੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਫ਼ਾਈਮ ਦੀ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
14 And Dauid was in a strong hold; sotheli the stacioun of Filisteis was thanne in Bethleem.
੧੪ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ
15 Therfor Dauid desiride water of the lake, and seide, If ony man wolde yyue to me drynk of watir of the cisterne, which is in Bethleem, bisidis the yate.
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਤਰਸਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਖੂਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਘੁੱਟ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਲਾਵੇ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
16 Therfor thre stronge men braken in to the castels of Filisteis, and drowen watir of the cisterne of Bethleem, that was bisidis the yate, and brouyten to Dauid; and he nolde drinke,
੧੬ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫਾਟਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਪੀਤਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਡੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
17 but offride it to the Lord, and seide, The Lord be merciful to me, that Y do not this; whether Y schal drynke the blood of these men, that yeden forth, and the perel of soulis? Therfor he nolde drynke. Thre strongeste men diden thes thingis.
੧੭ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਲੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਗਏ! ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ।
18 Also Abisay, brother of Joab, the sone of Saruye, was prince of thre; he it is that reiside his schaft ayens thre hundrid men, whiche he killide; `he was nemid among thre,
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਸੌ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਰਛਾ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾਮੀ ਬਣਿਆ।
19 and was the noblere among thre, and he was the prince of hem; but he cam not to the thre firste men.
੧੯ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪਤਵੰਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਨਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।
20 And Banaye, the sone of Joiada, strongeste man of grete werkis, of Capseel, he smoot twei liouns of Moab, `that is, twei knyytis hardi as liouns; and he yede doun, and smoot a lioun in the myddil cisterne in the daies of snow.
੨੦ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਕਬਸਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੋਤਰਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਹਾਦੁਰੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਫ਼ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ।
21 Also he killide a man of Egipt, a man worthi of spectacle, hauynge a spere in the hond; therfor whanne he hadde come doun with a yerde to that man, bi miyt he wrooth out the spere fro the hond of the man of Egipt, and killide hym with his owne spere.
੨੧ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਉਸ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬਰਛਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲਾਠੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਣ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਰਛਾ ਖੋਹ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ।
22 Banaye, sone of Joiada, dide these thingis;
੨੨ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੀ।
23 and he was nemyed among thre stronge men, that weren among the thretti noblere men; netheles he cam not til to the thre. And Dauid made hym a counselour of priuyte to hym silf.
੨੩ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੀਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪਤਵੰਤਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਨਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ, ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਖਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
24 Asahel, the brother of Joab, was among thretti men; Eleanan, the sone of his fadris brother, of Bethleem; Semma, of Arari;
੨੪ਯੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਅਸਾਹੇਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੀਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ ਨਾਲੇ ਬੈਤਲਹਮੀ ਦੋਦੋ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲਹਨਾਨ,
25 Elcha, of Arodi; Helas, of Phelti;
੨੫ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਹਰੋਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਕਾ ਹਰੋਦੀ
26 Hira, sone of Aches, of Thecua; Abiezer, of Amatoth;
੨੬ਹਲਸ ਪਲਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕੇਸ਼ ਤਕੋਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਈਰਾ
27 Mobannoy, of Cosathi; Selmon, of Achotes;
੨੭ਅਬੀਅਜ਼ਰ ਅੰਨਥੋਥੀ ਮਬੁੰਨਈ ਹੁਸ਼ਾਥੀ
28 Macharai, of Nethopath;
੨੮ਸਲਮੋਨ ਅਹੋਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਹਰਈ ਨਟੋਫਾਥੀ,
29 Heled, the sone of Baana, and he was of Netophath; Hiray, sone of Rabai, of Gebeeth, of the sones of Beniamyn; Banay, of Effrata;
੨੯ਬਆਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੇਲਬ ਇੱਕ ਨਟੋਫਾਥੀ ਤੇ ਰੀਬਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇੱਤਈ ਜੋ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ।
30 Hedday, of the stronde of Gaas;
੩੦ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਪਿਰਾਥੋਨੀ ਤੇ ਗਾਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਦਈ,
31 Abiadon, of Arbath; Asmaneth, of Berromy;
੩੧ਅਬੀਅਲਬੋਨ ਅਰਬਾਥੀ ਤੇ ਬਹਰੂਮੀ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਵਥ,
32 Eliaba, of Sabony; sones of Assen, Jonathan, and Jasan; Semma, of Herodi;
੩੨ਅਲਯਹਬਾ ਸ਼ਅਲਬੋਨੀ ਤੇ ਯਾਸੇਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ
33 Hayam, sone of Sarai, of Zaroth;
੩੩ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਹਰਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਰਾਰ ਅਰਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਆਮ।
34 Eliphelech, sone of Saalbai, the sone of Maachati; Heliam, sone of Achitofel, of Gilo;
੩੪ਉਸ ਮਆਕਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਪੋਤਾ ਅਹਸਬਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਲਟ ਤੇ ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਗੀਲੋਨੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਆਮ,
35 Esrai, of Carmele; Pharai, of Arbi;
