2 Samuel 15
1 Therfor aftir these thingis Absolon made a chaar to hym, and knyytis, and fifti men, that schulden go bifor hym.
Späterhin begab es sich, daß Absalom sich Wagen und Pferde anschaffte, dazu fünfzig Mann, die vor ihm herliefen.
2 And Absolon roos eerli, and stood bisidis the entryng of the yate in the weie; and Absolon clepide to hym ech man, that hadde a cause that he schulde come to the doom of the kyng, and Absolon seide, Of what citee art thou? Which answeride, and seide, Of o lynage of Israel Y am, thi seruaunt.
Und Absalom pflegte sich frühmorgens neben dem Thorweg aufzustellen, und wenn nun irgendjemand einen Rechtshandel hatte, der ihn veranlaßte, den König um eine Entscheidung anzugehen, so Absalom ihn an und fragte: Aus welcher Stadt bist du? Antwortete er nun: Dein Sklave ist aus einem der Stämme Israels!
3 And Absolon answeride to hym, Thi wordis semen to me good and iust, but noon is ordeyned of the kyng to here thee. And Absolon seide, Who schal ordeyne me iuge on the lond,
so sagte Absalom zu ihm: Was du sagst ist ja schön und wahr, aber auf seiten des Königs ist niemand, der dir Gehör schenkt!
4 that alle men that han cause come to me, and Y deme iustly?
Und weiter sagte Absalom: Ach, wenn man doch mich zum Richter im Lande bestellte, daß zu mir käme, wer irgendeinen handel oder eine Rechtssache hätte, damit ich ihm zu seinem Rechte verhälfe!
5 But whanne a man cam to Absolon to greete hym, he helde forth the hond, and took, and kisside that man;
Und wenn dann jemand herantrat, um ihm zu huldigen, so streckte er seine Hand aus, hielt ihn fest und küßte ihn.
6 and Absolon dide this to al Israel, that cam to doom to be herd of the kyng; and Absolon drow awei the hertis of men of Israel.
In dieser Weise benahm sich Absalom gegenüber jedermann aud Israel, der den König um eine Entscheidung anging, und so bestrickte Absalom die Herzen der Israeliten.
7 Forsothe aftir foure yeer Absolon seide to kyng Dauid, Y schal go, and Y schal yelde my vowis, whiche Y vowide to the Lord in Ebron;
Nach Verlauf von vier Jahren nun sprach Absalom zum Könige: Ich möchte gerne gehen und mein Gelübde, das ich Jahwe gelobt habe, in Hebron einlösen.
8 for thi seruaunt vowynge vowide, whanne he was in Gessur of Sirie, and seide, If the Lord bryngith ayen me in to Jerusalem, Y schal make sacrifice to the Lord.
Dein Sklave hat nämlich, als ich in Gesur in Aram weilte, folgendes Gelübde gethan: Wenn mich Jahwe in der That nach Jerusalem zurückführt, so will ich Jahwe meine Verehrung bezeigen.
9 And the kyng seide to hym, Go thou in pees. And Absolon roos, and yede in to Ebron.
Der König erwiderte ihm: Geh' unbesorgt! So machte er sich denn auf den Weg nach Hebron.
10 Forsothe Absolon sente aspieris in to al the lynage of Israel, and seide, Anoon as ye heren the sown of clarioun, seye ye, Absolon schal regne in Ebron.
Dabei sandte aber Absalom geheime Boten unter alle Stämme Israels aus und ließ verkündigen: Wenn ihr Posaunenschall hört, so sagt euch: Absalom ist in Hebron König geworden!
11 Forsothe twei hundrid men clepid of Jerusalem yeden with Absolon, and yede with symple herte, and outirli thei knewen not the cause.
Mit Absalom gingen zweihundert Männer aus Jerusalem weg, die geladen waren und arglos hingingen, ohne daß sie das Geringste wußten.
12 Also Absolon clepide Achitofel of Gilo, the councelour of Dauid, fro his citee Gilo. And whanne he offride sacrifices a strong swerynge togidere was maad, and the puple rennynge togidere was encreessid with Absolon.
Auch schickte Absalom hin und ließ, während er die Opfer darbrachte, Ahitophel aus Gilo, den Berater Davids, aus seiner Vaterstadt Gilo rufen. Und die Verschwörung gewann Kraft, und vom Volke wandten sich immer mehr auf Absaloms Seite.
13 Therfor a messanger cam to Dauid, and seide, With al herte al Israel sueth Absolon.
Als nun bei David Leute eintrafen, die ihm die Nachricht brachten: Die Israeliten haben ihr Herz Absalom zugewandt!
14 And Dauid seide to hise seruauntis that weren with hym in Jerusalem, Rise ye, and flee we; for noon ascaping schal be to us fro the face of Absolon; therfor haste ye to go out, lest he come, and ocupie vs, and fille on vs fallynge, and smyte the citee bi the scharpnesse of swerd.
da sprach David zu seinen Hofbeamten allen, die in Jerusalem bei ihm waren: Auf! laßt uns fliehen, denn sonst gibt es für uns keine Rettung vor Absalom: macht euch sofort auf den Weg, damit er uns nicht plötzlich überfällt, das Unheil über uns hereinbrechen läßt und in der Stadt ein Blutbad anrichtet!
15 And the seruauntis of the kyng seiden to hym, We thi seruauntis schulen performe gladli alle thingis, what euer thingis oure lord the kyng schal comaunde.
Die Beamten des Königs erwiderten dem Könige: Ganz wie mein königlicher Herr sich entscheidet - wir sind ja deine Sklaven!
16 Therfor the kyng yede out, and al his hous, on her feet; and the king lefte ten wymmen concubyns, `that is, secundarie wyues, to kepe the hous.
So zog denn der König aus und sein ganzer Hof folgte ihm auf dem Fuße nach; doch ließ der König zehn Kebsweiber zurück, das Haus zu bewachen.
17 And the king yede out, and al Israel, on her feet, and the kyng stood fer fro the hous.
So zog der König aus und seine sämtlichen Beamten folgten ihm auf dem Fuße nach. Beim letzten Hause machten sie Halt,
18 And alle hise seruauntis yeden bisidis him, and the legiouns of Cerethi and of Ferethi, and alle men of Geth `strong fiyters, sixe hundrid men, that sueden him fro Geth, yeden on foote bifor the kyng.
während das ganze Volk und alle Krether und Plether neben ihm vorübermarschierten; ebenso marschierten auch sämtliche Leute des Gathiters Ithai, sechshundert Mann, die unter seiner Führung aus Gath hergekommen waren, vor dem Könige vorüber.
19 Forsothe the kyng seide to Ethai of Geth, Whi comest thou with vs? Turne thou ayen, and dwelle with the kyng, for thou art a pilgrym, and thou yedist out fro thi place.
Der König redete Ithai aus Gath an: Weshalb gehst du auch mit uns? Kehre um und bleibe beim Könige: du bist ja ein Ausländer und ohnehin aus deiner Heimat verbannt.
20 Thou camest yistirdai, and to dai thou art compellid to go out with vs. Sotheli Y schal go, whidur Y schal go; turne ayen, and lede ayen thi britheren with thee, and the Lord do mercy and treuthe with thee, for thou schewidist grace and feith.
Gestern kamst du, und heute sollte ich dich mit uns auf die Irrfahrt gehen heißen, während ich gehe, wohin ich eben gehe? Kehre um und nimm deine Landsleute mit dir zurück; Jahwe aber wird Gnade und Treue an dir erzeigen!
21 And Ethai answeride to the kyng, and seide, The Lord lyueth, and my lord the kyng lyueth, for in what euer place thou schalt be, my lord the kyng, ether in deeth ethir in lijf, there thi seruaunt schal be.
Ithai erwiderte dem Könige: So wahr Jahwe lebt, und so wahr mein königlicher Herr lebt: an dem Ort, an dem mein königlicher Herr sein wird - es sei zum Tode oder zum Leben, - dort wird auch dein Diener sein!
22 And Dauid seide to Ethay, Come thou, and passe. And Ethai of Geth passide, and the kyng, and alle men that weren with hym, and the tother multitude.
Da sprach David zu Ithai: Wohlan denn, ziehe vorüber! So zog Ithai aus Gath samt allen seinen Leuten und dem ganzen Troß, der bei ihm war, vorüber.
23 And alle men wepten with greet vois, and al the puple passide; and the kyng yede ouer the strond of Cedron, and al the puple yede ayens the weie of the olyue tree, that biholdith to deseert.
Das ganze Land aber weinte laut auf, während alles Volk vorbeimarschierte. Der König aber stand im Bachthale des Kidron, während alles Volk in der Richtung nach dem Ölbaume, der in der Steppe steht, vor ihm vorübermarschierte.
24 Forsothe and Sadoch the preest cam, and alle the dekenes with hym, and thei baren the arke of boond of pees of God, and thei diden doun the arke of God; and Abiathar stiede, til al the puple was passid that yede out of the citee.
Da waren auch Zadok und Abjathar mit allen Leviten, die trugen die Gesetzes-Lade Gottes; sie setzten aber die Lade Gottes nieder, bis alles Volk aus der Stadt vollständig vorüber gezogen war.
25 And the kyng seide to Sadoch, Bere ayen the arke of God in to the citee; if Y schal fynde grace in the iyen of the Lord, he schal lede me ayen, and he schal schewe to me that arke and his tabernacle.
Aber der König gebot Zadok: Bringe die Lade Gottes nach der Stadt zurück: Wird Jahwe mir gnädig gesinnt sein, so wird er mich zurückführen und mich ihn selbst und seine Wohnung schauen lassen.
26 Sotheli if the Lord seith, Thou plesist not me; Y am redi, do he that, that is good bifor hym silf.
Ist aber sein Gedanke: Ich habe kein Gefallen an dir - da bin ich, er verfahre mit mir wie es ihm gut dünkt!
27 And the kyng seide to Sadoch, preest, A! thou seere, `that is, profete, turne ayen in to the citee, with pees; and Achymaas, thi sone, and Jonathas, the sone of Abiathar, youre twei sones, be with you.
Sodann sagte der König zum Hohenpriester Zadok: Kehre ruhig nach der Stadt zurück, und dein Sohn Ahimaaz und Jonathan, der Sohn Abjathars, eure beiden Söhne, mit euch;
28 Lo! Y schal be hid in the feeldi places of deseert, til word come fro you, and schewe to me.
merket: ich will bei den Furten in der Steppe verweilen, bis von euch ein Bescheid kommt und mir Nachricht giebt.
29 Therfor Sadoch and Abiathar baren ayen the arke of God in to Jerusalem, and dwelliden there.
So brachten Zadok und Abjathar die Lade Gottes nach Jerusalem zurück und blieben dort.
30 Forsothe Dauid stiede on the hil of olyue trees, stiynge and wepynge, with the heed hilyd, and `goynge with nakid feet; but also al the puple that was with hym, stiede with the heed hilid, and wepte.
David aber stieg den Ölberg hinan, im Gehen weinend und mit verhülltem Haupt. Und zwar ging er barfuß, und alles Volk, daß ihn begleitete, hatte das Haupt verhüllt und stieg unter beständigem Weinen hinauf.
31 Forsothe it was teld to Dauid, that Achitofel was in the sweryng togidere with Absolon; and Dauid seide, Lord, Y byseche, make thou fonned the counsel of Achitofel.
Als man aber David hinterbrachte: Ahitophel ist unter den Verschwörern auf Absaloms Seite! Da rief David: Bethöre doch, Jahwe, Ahitophels Rat!
32 And whanne Dauid stiede in to the hiyenesse of the hil, in which he schulde worschipe the Lord, lo! Cusi of Arath, with the cloth to-rent, and with the heed ful of erthe, cam to hym.
Als nun David auf dem Gipfel, wo man Gott zu verehren pflegt, angelangt war - da trat ihm plötzlich Davids Freund, der Arkiter Husai, mit zerissenem Rock und Erde auf dem Haupt entgegen.
33 And Dauid seide to hym, If thou comest with me, thou schalt be to me to charge; sotheli if thou turnest ayen in to the citee,
David sprach zu ihm: Wenn du mit mir gehst, so bist du mir eine Last;
34 and seist to Absolon, Y am thi seruaunt, kyng, suffre thou me to lyue; as Y was the seruaunt of thi fadir, so Y schal be thi seruaunt; thou schalt distrye the counsel of Achitofel.
gehst du aber nach der Stadt zurück und sagst zu Absalom: Dein Diener will ich, o König, sein; deines Vaters Diener, das bin ich ehedem gewesen, nun aber will ich dein Diener sein! - so kannst du mir Ahitophels Rat zunichte machen.
35 Forsothe thou hast with thee Sadoch and Abiathar, preestis; and `thou schalt schewe ech word, what euer word thou schalt here in the hows of the kyng, to Sadoch and Abiathar, preestis.
Auch sind ja die Priester Zadok und Abjatar dort bei dir: was immer du nun aus dem Königspalast erfährst, magst du an die Priester Zadok und Abjatar berichten.
36 Sotheli twei sones `of hem ben with hem, Achymaas, sone of Sadoch, and Jonathan, sone of Abiathar; and ye schulen sende bi hem to me ech word which ye schulen here.
Die haben dort ihre beiden Söhne bei sich, Zadok den Ahimaaz und Abjathar den Jonathan: durch ihre Vermittlung könnt ihr an mich gelangen lassen, was ihr irgend in Erfahrung bringt!
37 Therfor whanne Chusi, freend of Dauid, cam in to the citee, also Absolon entryde in to Jerusalem.
So begab sich Davids Freund Husai nach der Stadt, und Absalom begab sich ebenfalls nach Jerusalem.
