2 Samuel 11
1 Forsothe it was doon, whanne the yeer turnede ayen in that tyme wherynne kyngis ben wont to go forth to batels, Dauid sente Joab, and with hym hise seruauntis, and al Israel; and thei distrieden the sones of Amon, and bisegiden Rabath; forsothe Dauid dwellide in Jerusalem.
Εν δε τω ακολούθω έτει, καθ' ον καιρόν εκστρατεύουσιν οι βασιλείς, απέστειλεν ο Δαβίδ τον Ιωάβ και τους δούλους αυτού μετ' αυτού και πάντα τον Ισραήλ· και κατέστρεψαν τους υιούς Αμμών και επολιόρκησαν την Ραββά. Ο δε Δαβίδ έμεινεν εν Ιερουσαλήμ.
2 While these thingis weren doon, it befelde, that Dauid roos in a dai fro his bed after mydday, and walkide in the soler of the kyngis hows; and he siy a womman waischynge hir silf euen ayens on hir soler; sotheli the womman was ful fair.
Και προς το εσπέρας, ότε ο Δαβίδ εσηκώθη από της κλίνης αυτού, περιεπάτει επί του δώματος του βασιλικού οίκου· και είδεν από του δώματος γυναίκα λουομένην· και η γυνή ήτο ώραία την όψιν σφόδρα.
3 Therfor the kyng sente, and enqueride, what womman it was; and it was teld to hym, that sche was Bersabee, the douytir of Heliam, and was the wijf of Vrye Ethei.
Και απέστειλεν ο Δαβίδ και ηρεύνησε περί της γυναικός. Και είπε τις, Δεν είναι αύτη Βηθ-σαβεέ, η θυγάτηρ του Ελιάμ, η γυνή Ουρίου του Χετταίου;
4 Therfor bi messangeris sent Dauid took hir; and whanne sche entride to hym, he slepte with hir, and anoon sche was halewid fro hir vnclenesse.
Και απέστειλεν ο Δαβίδ μηνυτάς και έλαβεν αυτήν· και ότε ήλθε προς αυτόν, εκοιμήθη μετ' αυτής, διότι είχε καθαρισθή από της ακαθαρσίας αυτής· και επέστρεψεν εις τον οίκον αυτής.
5 And sche turnede ayen in to hir hows, with child conseyued; and sche sente, and telde to Dauid, and seide, Y haue conseyued.
Και συνέλαβεν η γυνή· και αποστείλασα απήγγειλε προς τον Δαβίδ και είπεν, Έγκυος είμαι.
6 Forsothe Dauid sente to Joab, and seide, Sende thou Vrye Ethei to me; and Joab sente Vrye to Dauid.
Και απέστειλεν ο Δαβίδ προς τον Ιωάβ, λέγων, Απόστειλόν μοι Ουρίαν τον Χετταίον. Και απέστειλεν ο Ιωάβ τον Ουρίαν προς τον Δαβίδ.
7 And Vrie cam to Dauid; and Dauid axide, hou riytfuli Joab dide and the puple, and hou the batel was mynystrid.
Και ότε ήλθε προς αυτόν ο Ουρίας, ηρώτησεν ο Δαβίδ πως έχει ο Ιωάβ και πως έχει ο λαός και πως έχουσι τα του πολέμου.
8 And Dauid seide to Vrye, Go in to thin hows, and waische thi feet. Vrye yede out fro the hows of the kyng, and the kyngis mete suede hym.
Και είπεν ο Δαβίδ προς τον Ουρίαν, Κατάβα εις τον οίκόν σου και νίψον τους πόδας σου· και εξήλθεν ο Ουρίας εκ του οίκου του βασιλέως· και κατόπιν αυτού ήλθε μερίδιον από της τραπέζης του βασιλέως.
9 Sotheli Vrye slepte bifor the yate of the kyngis hows with othere seruauntis of his lord, and yede not doun to his hows.
Αλλ' ο Ουρίας εκοιμήθη παρά την θύραν του οίκου του βασιλέως, μετά πάντων των δούλων του κυρίου αυτού και δεν κατέβη εις τον οίκον αυτού.
10 And it was teld to Dauid of men, seiynge, Vrye `yede not to his hows. And Dauid seide to Vrye, Whether thou camest not fro the weye? whi yedist thou not doun in to thin hows?
Και ότε απήγγειλαν προς τον Δαβίδ, λέγοντες, Δεν κατέβη ο Ουρίας εις τον οίκον αυτού, είπεν ο Δαβίδ προς τον Ουρίαν, Συ δεν έρχεσαι εξ οδοιπορίας; διά τι δεν κατέβης εις τον οίκόν σου;
11 And Vrie seide to Dauid, The arke of God, Israel and Juda dwellen in tentis, and my lord Joab, and the seruauntis of my lord dwellen on the face of erthe, and schal Y go in to myn hows, to ete and drynke, and slepe with my wijf? Bi thin helthe, and bi the helthe of thi soule, Y schal not do this thing.
Και είπεν ο Ουρίας προς τον Δαβίδ, Η κιβωτός και ο Ισραήλ και ο Ιούδας κατοικούσιν εν σκηναίς, και ο κύριός μου Ιωάβ και οι δούλοι του κυρίου μου, είναι εστρατοπεδευμένοι επί το πρόσωπον της πεδιάδος· και εγώ θέλω υπάγει εις τον οίκόν μου, διά να φάγω και να πίω και να κοιμηθώ μετά της γυναικός μου; ζης και ζη η ψυχή σου, δεν θέλω κάμει το πράγμα τούτο.
12 Therfor Dauid seide to Vrye, Dwelle thou here also to dai, and to morewe Y schal delyuere thee. Vrie dwellide in Jerusalem in that day and the tothir.
Και είπεν ο Δαβίδ προς τον Ουρίαν, Μείνε ενταύθα και σήμερον, και αύριον θέλω σε εξαποστείλει. Και έμεινεν ο Ουρίας εν Ιερουσαλήμ την ημέραν εκείνην και την επαύριον.
13 And Dauid clepide hym, that he schulde ete and drynke bifor hym, and Dauid made drunkun Vrye; and he yede out in the euentid, and slepte in his bed with the seruauntes of his lord; and yede not doun in to his hows.
Και εκάλεσεν αυτόν ο Δαβίδ, και έφαγεν ενώπιον αυτού και έπιεν· και εμέθυσεν αυτόν· και το εσπέρας εξήλθε να κοιμηθή επί της κλίνης αυτού μετά των δούλων του κυρίου αυτού, πλην εις τον οίκον αυτού δεν κατέβη.
14 Therfor the morewtid was maad, and Dauid wroot epistle to Joab, and sente bi the hond of Vrye,
Και το πρωΐ έγραψεν ο Δαβίδ επιστολήν προς τον Ιωάβ, και έστειλεν αυτήν διά χειρός του Ουρίου.
15 and wroot in the pistle, Sette ye Vrye euene ayens the batel, where the batel is strongeste, `that is, where the aduersaries ben stronge, and forsake ye hym, that he be smitun and perische.
Και έγραψεν εν τη επιστολή, λέγων, Θέσατε τον Ουρίαν απέναντι της σκληροτέρας μάχης· έπειτα σύρθητε απ' αυτού, διά να κτυπηθή και να αποθάνη.
16 Therfor whanne Joab bisegide the citee, he settide Vrie in the place where he wiste that strongeste men weren.
Και αφού παρετήρησε την πόλιν ο Ιωάβ, διώρισε τον Ουρίαν εις θέσιν, όπου ήξευρεν ότι ήσαν άνδρες δυνάμεως.
17 And men yeden out of the citee, and fouyten ayens Joab, and thei killiden of the puple of seruauntis of Dauid, and also Vrye Ethei was deed.
Και εξήλθον οι άνδρες της πόλεως, και επολέμησαν μετά του Ιωάβ· και έπεσον εκ του λαού τινές των δούλων του Δαβίδ· εθανατώθη δε και Ουρίας ο Χετταίος.
18 Therfor Joab sente, and telde alle the wordis of the batel;
Και απέστειλεν ο Ιωάβ και ανήγγειλε προς τον Δαβίδ πάντα τα περί του πολέμου.
19 and he comaundyde to the messanger, and seide, Whanne thou hast fillid alle wordis of the batel to the kyng,
Και προσέταξε τον μηνυτήν, λέγων, Αφού τελειώσης λαλών προς τον βασιλέα πάντα τα περί του πολέμου,
20 if thou seest, that he is wrooth, and seith, Whi neiyiden ye to the wal to fiyte? whether ye wisten not, that many dartis ben sent `fro aboue fro the wal?
εξαφθή ο θυμός του βασιλέως, και είπη προς σε, Διά τι επλησιάσατε εις την πόλιν μαχόμενοι; δεν ηξεύρετε ότι ήθελον τοξεύσει από του τείχους;
21 who smoot Abymelech, sone of Gerobaal? whether not a womman sente on hym a gobet of a mylnestoon fro the wal, and killide hym in Thebes? whi neiyiden ye bisidis the wal? thou schalt seie, Also thi seruaunt, Vrye Ethei, diede.
τις επάταξεν Αβιμέλεχ τον υιόν του Ιερουβέσεθ; γυνή τις δεν έρριψεν επ' αυτόν τμήμα μυλοπέτρας από του τείχους, και απέθανεν εν Θαιβαίς; διά τι επλησιάσατε εις το τείχος; τότε ειπέ, Απέθανε και ο δούλός σου Ουρίας ο Χετταίος.
22 Therfor the messanger yede, and telde to Dauid alle thingis whiche Joab hadde comaundid to hym.
Υπήγε λοιπόν ο μηνυτής και ελθών, απήγγειλε προς τον Δαβίδ πάντα εκείνα, διά τα οποία απέστειλεν αυτόν ο Ιωάβ.
23 And the messanger seide to Dauid, `Men hadden the maistri ayens us, and thei yeden out to vs in to the feeld; sotheli bi `fersnesse maad we pursueden hem `til to the yate of the citee.
Και είπεν ο μηνυτής προς τον Δαβίδ, ότι υπερίσχυσαν καθ' ημών οι άνδρες και εξήλθον προς ημάς εις την πεδιάδα, και κατεδιώξαμεν αυτούς μέχρι της εισόδου της πύλης·
24 And archeris senten dartis to thi seruauntis fro the wal aboue, and summe of the `kyngis seruauntis ben deed; forsothe also thi seruaunt, Vrye Ethei, is deed.
αλλ' οι τοξόται ετόξευσαν από του τείχους επί τους δούλους σου· και τινές των δούλων του βασιλέως απέθανον, και ο δούλός σου έτι Ουρίας ο Χετταίος απέθανε.
25 And Dauid seide to the messanger, Thou schalt seie these thingis to Joab, This thing breke not thee; for the bifallyng of batel is dyuerse, and swerd wastith now this man, now that man; coumforte thi fiyteris ayens the citee, that thou distrye it, and excite thou hem.
Τότε είπεν ο Δαβίδ προς τον μηνυτήν, Ούτω θέλεις ειπεί προς τον Ιωάβ· Μη σε ανησυχή τούτο το πράγμα· διότι η ρομφαία κατατρώγει ποτέ μεν ένα, ποτέ δε άλλον· ενίσχυσον την μάχην σου εναντίον της πόλεως και κατάστρεψον αυτήν· και συ ενθάρρυνε αυτόν.
26 Forsothe the wijf of Vrye herde, that Vrye hir hosebond was deed, and sche biweilide hym.
Ότε δε ήκουσεν η γυνή του Ουρίου, ότι Ουρίας ο ανήρ αυτής απέθανεν, επένθησε διά τον άνδρα αυτής.
27 And whanne the morenyng was passid, Dauid sente, and brouyte hir in to his hows; and sche was maad wijf to hym, and sche childide a sone to hym. And this word which Dauid hadde do displeside bifor the Lord.
Και αφού επέρασε το πένθος, απέστειλεν ο Δαβίδ και παρέλαβεν αυτήν εις τον οίκον αυτού· και έγεινε γυνή αυτού και εγέννησεν εις αυτόν υιόν· το πράγμα όμως το οποίον έπραξεν ο Δαβίδ, εφάνη κακόν εις τους οφθαλμούς του Κυρίου.
