2 Kings 24
1 In the daies of hym Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, stiede, and Joachym was maad seruaunt to hym by thre yeeris; and eft Joachym rebellide ayens hym.
Durante il suo regno, Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia gli mosse guerra; Ioiakìm gli fu sottomesso per tre anni, poi gli si ribellò.
2 And the Lord sente to hym theuys of Caldeis, and theuys of Sirie, and theuys of Moab, and theuys of the sones of Amon; and he sente hem `in to Juda, that he schulde destrie it, bi the word of the Lord, which he spak bi hise seruauntis prophetis.
Il Signore mandò contro di lui bande armate di Caldei, di Aramei, di Moabiti e di Ammoniti; le mandò in Giuda per annientarlo, secondo la parola che il Signore aveva pronunziata per mezzo dei suoi servi, i profeti.
3 Forsothe this was doon bi the word of the Lord ayens Juda, that he schulde do awei it bifor him silf, for the synnes of Manasses, and alle thingis whiche he dide,
Ciò avvenne in Giuda solo per volere del Signore, che volle allontanarlo dalla sua presenza a causa del peccato di Manàsse, per tutto ciò che aveva fatto,
4 and for the giltles blood which he sched out; and he fillide Jerusalem with the blood of innocentis; and for this thing the Lord nolde do mercy.
e anche a causa del sangue innocente versato quando aveva riempito di sangue innocente Gerusalemme; per questo il Signore non volle placarsi.
5 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Joachim, and alle thingis whiche he dide, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
Le altre gesta di Ioiakìm e tutte le sue azioni sono descritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Giuda.
6 And Joachym slept with hise fadris, and Joakyn, his sone, regnyde for him.
Ioiakìm si addormentò con i suoi padri e al suo posto divenne re suo figlio Ioiachìn.
7 And the kyng of Egipt addide no more to go out of hys lond; for the kyng of Babiloyne hadde take alle thingis that weren the kyngis of Egipt, fro the strond of Egipt `til to the flood Eufrates.
Il re d'Egitto non uscì più dal suo paese, perché il re di Babilonia, dal torrente di Egitto sino al fiume Eufrate, aveva conquistato quanto una volta apparteneva al re d'Egitto.
8 Joakyn was of eiytene yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde thre monethis in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Nahesta, douytir of Helnathan of Jerusalem.
Ioiachìn aveva diciotto anni, quando divenne re; regnò tre mesi in Gerusalemme. Sua madre, di Gerusalemme, si chiamava Necusta, figlia di Elnatàn.
9 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis whiche hise fadir hadde do.
Fece ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore, secondo quanto aveva fatto suo padre.
10 In that tyme the seruauntis of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, stieden `in to Jerusalem, and the citee was cumpassid with bisegyngis.
In quel tempo gli ufficiali di Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia marciarono contro Gerusalemme; la città subì l'assedio.
11 And Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, cam to the citee with hise seruauntis, that he schulde fiyte ayens it.
Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia giunse presso la città, mentre i suoi ufficiali l'assediavano.
12 And Joakyn, kyng of Juda, yede out to the king of Babiloyne, he, and his modir, and hise seruauntis, and hise princis, and hise chaumburleyns; and the king of Babiloyne resseyuede him, in the eiythe yeer of `his rewme.
Ioiachìn re di Giuda si presentò con sua madre, i suoi ministri, i suoi capi e i suoi eunuchi, al re di Babilonia; questi, nell'anno ottavo del suo regno, lo fece prigioniero.
13 And he brouyte forth fro thens alle the tresours of the `hous of the Lord, and the tresours of the kingis hous; and he beet togider alle the goldun vessels, whiche Salomon, king of Israel, hadde maad in the temple of the Lord, bi the `word of the Lord.
Il re di Babilonia portò via di là tutti i tesori del tempio e i tesori della reggia; fece a pezzi tutti gli oggetti d'oro, che Salomone re di Israele aveva posti nel tempio. Così si adempì la parola del Signore.
14 And he translatide al Jerusalem, and alle the princis, and alle the strong men of the oost, ten thousynde, in to caitiftee, and ech crafti man, and goldsmyyt; and no thing was left, outakun the pore puplis of the lond.
Deportò tutta Gerusalemme, cioè tutti i capi, tutti i prodi, in numero di diecimila, tutti i falegnami e i fabbri; rimase solo la gente povera del paese.
15 Also he translatide Joakyn in to Babiloyne, and the moder of the king, `the wyues of the king, and the chaumburleyns of the king; and he ledde the iugis of the lond in to caitifte fro Jerusalem in to Babiloyne;
Deportò in Babilonia Ioiachìn, la madre del re, le mogli del re, i suoi eunuchi e le guide del paese, conducendoli in esilio da Gerusalemme in Babilonia.
16 and alle stronge men, seuene thousynde; and crafti men and goldsmyythis, a thousynde; alle stronge men and werriouris; and the king of Babiloyne ledde hem prisoners in to Babiloyne.
Tutti gli uomini di valore, in numero di settemila, i falegnami e i fabbri, in numero di mille, e tutti i guerrieri più prodi furono condotti in esilio a Babilonia dal re di Babilonia.
17 And he ordeynede Mathanye, the brother of his fadir, for hym; and puttide to hym the name Sedechie.
Il re di Babilonia nominò re, al posto di Ioiachìn, Mattania suo zio, cambiandogli il nome in Sedecìa.
18 Sedechie hadde the oon and twentithe yeer of age, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde eleuene yeer in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Amychal, douyter of Jeremye of Lobna.
Quando divenne re, Sedecìa aveva ventun anni; regnò undici anni in Gerusalemme. Sua madre, di Libna, si chiamava Camutàl, figlia di Geremia.
19 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis which Joachym hadde do.
Fece ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore, secondo quanto aveva fatto Ioiakìm.
20 For the Lord was wrooth ayens Jerusalem, and ayens Juda, til he caste hem awey fro his face; and Sedechie yede awei fro the king of Babiloyne.
Ciò accadde in Gerusalemme e in Giuda a causa dell'ira del Signore, tanto che infine li allontanò da sé. Sedecìa poi si ribellò al re di Babilonia.
