2 Kings 23
1 And thei telden to the kyng that, that sche seide; `which kyng sente, and alle the elde men of Juda, and of Jerusalem, weren gaderid to hym.
Entonces el rey convocó a todos los ancianos de Judá y Jerusalén para que se reunieran con él.
2 And the kyng stiede in to the temple of the Lord, and alle the men of Juda, and alle men that dwelliden in Jerusalem with hym, the preestis, and the prophetis, and al the puple, fro litil `til to greet; and he redde, while alle men herden, alle the wordis of the book of boond of pees of the Lord, which book was foundun in the hows of the Lord.
El rey subió a la Casa de Yavé, y todo hombre de Judá y todos los habitantes de Jerusalén iban con él, así como los sacerdotes, los profetas y todo el pueblo, desde el menor hasta el mayor. Entonces él leyó a oídos de ellos todas las Palabras del rollo del Pacto que fue hallado en el Templo de Yavé.
3 And the kyng stood on the grees; and he smoot boond of pees bifor the Lord, that thei schulden go aftir the Lord, and kepe hise comaundementis and witnessyngis and cerymonyes in al the herte and in al the soule, that thei schulden reise the wordis of this boond of pees, that weren writun in that book; and the puple assentide to the couenaunt.
El rey se colocó en pie junto a la columna. Hizo pacto delante de Yavé de seguirlo, guardar sus Mandamientos, Testimonios y Preceptos con todo el corazón y toda el alma, y cumplir las Palabras del Pacto escritas en ese rollo. Y todo el pueblo confirmó el Pacto.
4 And the kyng comaundide to Helchie, the bischop, and to the preestis of the secounde ordre, and to the porteris, that thei schulden caste out of the temple alle the vesselis, that weren maad to Baal, and in the wode, and to al the knyythod of heuene; and he brente tho vessels with out Jerusalem, in the euene valey of Cedron, and he bar the poudir of tho `vessels in to Bethel.
El rey ordenó al sumo sacerdote Hilcías, a los sacerdotes de segundo orden y a los guardianes de la entrada, que sacaran del Santuario de Yavé todos los utensilios hechos para baal, Asera y todo el ejército del cielo. Los quemó fuera de Jerusalén, en los campos del Cedrón, y llevó sus cenizas a Bet-ʼEl.
5 And he dide awei false dyuynours `that dyuynyden in the entrailis of beestis sacrified to idols, whiche the kingis of Juda hadden sett to make sacrifice in hiy thingis bi the citees of Juda, and in the cumpas of Jerusalem; and he dide awey hem that brenten encense to Baal, and to the sunne, and to the moone, and to twelue signes, and to al the knyythod of heuene.
Destituyó a los sacerdotes idólatras que los reyes de Judá designaron para quemar incienso en los lugares altos, las ciudades de Judá y los alrededores de Jerusalén. También destituyó a los que quemaban incienso a baal, al sol y a la luna, a Mazzalot y a todo el ejército del cielo.
6 And he made the wode to be borun out of the hows of the Lord without Jerusalem in the euene valey of Cedron, and he brente it there; and he droof it in to poudir, and castide it forth on the sepulcris of the comyn puple.
Sacó la Asera de la Casa de Yavé, y la llevó fuera de Jerusalén, al torrente de Cedrón. Allí la quemó hasta reducirla a cenizas y echó sus cenizas sobre las tumbas del pueblo común.
7 Also he distriede the litle housis of `men turnyd into wommens condiciouns, whiche housis weren in the hows of the Lord; for whiche the wymmen `maden as litil howsis of the wode.
Derribó además las viviendas de los sodomitas dedicados a la prostitución las cuales estaban en la Casa de Yavé, donde las mujeres tejían tiendas para la Asera.
8 And he gaderide alle the preestis fro the citees of Juda, and he defoulide the hiye thingis, where the preestis maden sacrifice, fro Gabaa `til to Bersabee; and he distriede the auters of yatis in the entryng of the dore of Josie, prince of a citee, which dore was at the lift half of the yate of the cytee.
Llamó a todos los sacerdotes de las ciudades de Judá, declaró impuros los lugares altos donde los sacerdotes quemaban incienso, desde Geba hasta Beerseba, y destruyó los lugares altos de las puertas que estaban en la entrada del portón de Josué, gobernador de la ciudad, a la izquierda de la entrada a la ciudad.
9 Netheles the preestis of hiye thingis stieden not to the auter of the Lord in Jerusalem, but oneli thei eten therf looues in the myddis of her britheren.
Pero a los sacerdotes de los lugares altos no se les permitió subir al altar de Yavé en Jerusalén, aunque sí comían panes sin levadura entre sus hermanos.
10 Also he defoulide Tophet, which is in the euene valey of the sone of Ennon, that no man schulde halewe his sone ether his douytir bi fier to Moloch.
También declaró impuro a Tofet, que está en el valle del hijo de Hinom, para que nadie hiciera pasar por fuego a su hijo o a su hija en honor a Moloc.
11 Also he dide awei horsis, whiche the kyngis of Juda hadden youe to the sunne, in the entryng of the temple of the Lord, bisidis the chaumbir of Nathanmalech, geldyng, that was in Pharurym; forsothe he brente bi fier the charis of the sunne.
Quitó también los caballos que los reyes de Judá dedicaron al sol en la entrada a la Casa de Yavé, junto a la cámara de Natán-melec, el funcionario que tenía a su cargo las dependencias, y quemó los carruajes del sol en el fuego.
12 Also the kyng distriede the auteris, that weren on the roouys of the soler of Achaz, whiche auteris the kyngis of Juda hadden maad; and the kyng distriede the auteris, whiche Manasses hadde maad in the twei grete placis of the temple of the Lord; and he ran fro thennus, and scateride the askis of tho in to the strond of Cedron.
Asimismo, el rey demolió los altares que los reyes de Judá hicieron en la azotea del aposento superior de Acaz, y los altares que Manasés erigió en los dos patios de la Casa de Yavé. Los destrozó allí y echó sus cenizas en el torrente de Cedrón.
13 Also the kyng defoulide the hiye thingis, that weren in Jerusalem at the riyt part of the hil of offencioun, whiche Salomon, kyng of Israel, hadde bildid to Astroth, the ydol of Sidoneis, and to Chamos, the offencioun of Moab, and to Melchon, abhominacioun of the sones of Amon;
Del mismo modo el rey declaró impuros los lugares altos que estaban al este de Jerusalén, a la mano derecha de la Montaña de la Destrucción, que Salomón, rey de Israel, dedicó a Astarot, repugnancia de los sidonios, a Quemos, repugnancia de Moab, y a Milcom, repugnancia de los hijos de Amón.
14 and he al to-brak ymagis, and kittide doun wodis, and fillide the places of tho with the boonys of deed men.
También destrozó las estatuas, taló las Aseras y llenó aquellos sitios con huesos de hombres.
15 Ferthermore also he distriede the auter that was in Bethel, and `he distriede the hiye thing, which Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, hadde maad, that made Israel to do synne; and he distriede that hiy autir, and brente it, and al to brak it in to poudir, and kittide doun also the wode.
Además destrozó el altar que estaba en Bet-ʼEl y el lugar alto que hizo Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, por medio del cual indujo a pecar a Israel. Destrozó tanto ese altar como el lugar alto. Quemó el lugar alto, lo redujo a cenizas y quemó la Asera.
16 And Josias turnyde, and siy there sepulcris that weren in the hil; and he sente, and took the boonys fro the sepulcris, and brente tho on the auter, and defoulide it bi the word of the Lord, which word the man of God spak, that biforseide these wordis.
Al regresar, Josías vio los sepulcros que estaban allí en la montaña y envió a recoger los huesos de los sepulcros. Los quemó sobre el altar y los declaró impuros, según la Palabra de Yavé que habló el varón de ʼElohim que anunció estas cosas.
17 And the kyng seide, What is this biriel, which Y se? And the citeseyns of that citee answeriden to hym, It is the sepulcre of the man of God, that cam fro Juda, and biforseide these wordis, whiche thou hast doon on the auter of Bethel.
Y preguntó: ¿Qué monumento es éste que veo? Y los hombres de la ciudad le respondieron: Es el sepulcro del varón de ʼElohim que vino de Judá y proclamó estas cosas que hiciste contra el altar de Bet-ʼEl.
18 And the kyng seide, Suffre ye hym; no man moue hise boonys. And hise boonys dwelliden vntouchid with the boones of the prophete, that cam fro Samarie.
Y él dijo: Déjenlo, que nadie mueva sus huesos.
19 Ferthermore also Josias dide awei alle the templis of hiye thingis, that weren in the citees of Samarie, whiche the kyngis of Israel hadden maad to terre the Lord to ire; and he dide to tho templis bi alle thingis whiche he hadde do in Bethel.
Josías también quitó todos los santuarios de los lugares altos que había en las ciudades de Samaria, que los reyes de Israel hicieron para provocar a ira a Yavé. Hizo con ellos como hizo en Bet-ʼEl.
20 And he killide alle the preestis of hiye thingis, that weren there on the auteris, and he brente mennus boonus on tho auteris; and he turnede ayen to Jerusalem;
Además mató sobre los altares a todos los sacerdotes de los lugares altos que estaban allí, quemó sobre ellos huesos humanos y regresó a Jerusalén.
21 and comaundide to al the puple, and seide, Make ye pask to `youre Lord God, vp that, that is writun in the book of this boond of pees.
Luego el rey ordenó a todo el pueblo: Celebren la Pascua para Yavé su ʼElohim, según lo escrito en este rollo del Pacto.
22 Forsothe sich pask was not maad, fro the daies of iugis that demyden Israel, and of alle daies of the kyngis of Israel and of Juda,
En verdad no fue celebrada una Pascua como ésta desde los días de los jueces que juzgaron a Israel, ni en todos los días de los reyes de Israel y los reyes de Judá.
23 as this pask was maad to the Lord in Jerusalem in the eiytenthe yeer of kyng Josias.
El año 18 del rey Josías fue celebrada esta Pascua para Yavé en Jerusalén.
24 But also Josias dide awei men hauynge fendis spekinge in her wombis, and false diuinouris in auteris, and `he dide awei the figuris of idols, and alle vnclennessis, and abhomynaciouns, that weren in the lond of Juda and in Jerusalem, that he schulde do the wordis of the lawe, that weren writun in the book, `which book Elchie, the preest, foond in the temple of the Lord.
Josías también eliminó a los médium y los espiritistas, los ídolos domésticos y todos los ídolos repugnantes, y todos los ídolos detestables que se veían en la tierra de Judá y en Jerusalén, para cumplir las Palabras de la Ley escritas en el rollo que el sacerdote Hilcías halló en la Casa de Yavé.
25 No kyng bifor him was lijk hym, `that turnede ayen to the Lord in al his herte, and in al his soule, and in al his vertu, bi al the lawe of Moises; nether aftir hym roos ony lijk hym.
Ningún rey hubo como él antes de él, que se convirtiera a Yavé con todo su corazón, toda su alma y toda su fuerza, según toda la Ley de Moisés, ni tampoco se levantó otro igual después de él.
26 Netheles the Lord was not turned awei fro the ire of his greet veniaunce, bi which his strong veniaunce was wrooth ayens Juda, for the terryngis to ire by whiche Manasses hadde terrid hym to ire.
Sin embargo, Yavé no desistió del ardor de su gran ira, pues su ira se encendió contra Judá a causa de todas las provocaciones con las cuales lo provocó Manasés.
27 Therfor the Lord seide, Y schal do awei also Juda fro my face, as Y dide awei Israel; and Y schal caste awei this citee, which Y chees, Jerusalem, and the hows `of which Y seide, My name schal be there.
Y Yavé dijo: Como aparté a Israel de mi Presencia, también apartaré a Judá, y desecharé a esta ciudad que escogí, a Jerusalén, y la Casa de la cual dije: Allí estará mi Nombre.
28 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Josias, and alle thingis whiche he dide, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
Todo lo que hizo Josías, ¿no está escrito en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
29 In the daies of hym Farao Nechao, kyng of Egipt, stiede ayens the kyng of Assiriens, to the flood Eufrates; and Josias, kyng of Juda, yede in to metyng of hym, and Josias was slayn in Magedo, whanne he hadde seyn hym.
En aquellos días, Faraón Necao, rey de Egipto, subió hacia el río Éufrates a enfrentarse al rey de Asiria, y el rey Josías salió contra él. Pero cuando [Faraón Necao] lo vio, lo mató en Meguido.
30 And `hise seruauntis baren hym deed fro Magedo, and brouyte him in to Jerusalem, and birieden hym in his sepulcre; and the puple of the lond took Joachaz, sone of Josias, and anoyntiden hym, and maden hym kyng for his fadir.
Sus esclavos lo colocaron en un carruaje, lo llevaron muerto desde Meguido a Jerusalén y lo sepultaron en su sepulcro. Después el pueblo de la tierra tomó a Joacaz, hijo de Josías, lo ungieron y lo proclamaron rey en lugar de su padre.
31 Joachaz was of thre and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede thre monethis in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Amychal, douyter of Jeremye of Lobna.
Cuando Joacaz comenzó a reinar tenía 23 años, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Hamutal, hija de Jeremías de Libna.
32 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis which hise fadris hadden do.
Hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Yavé, según todo lo que hicieron sus antepasados.
33 And Farao Nechao boond hym in Reblatha, which is in the lond of Emath, that he schulde not regne in Jerusalem; and he settide `peyne, ether raunsum, to the lond, in an hundrid talentis of siluer, and in a talent of gold.
Faraón Necao lo encarceló en Ribla, en la tierra de Hamat, para que no reinara en Jerusalén, e impuso sobre la tierra un tributo de 3,3 toneladas de plata y 33 kilogramos de oro.
34 And Farao Nechao made kyng Eliachim, sone of Josias, for Josias, his fadir; and he turnede the name of hym Joachym; forsothe Farao took Joachaz, and ledde hym in to Egipt.
Entonces Faraón Necao proclamó rey a Eliaquim, hijo de Josías, en lugar de Josías su padre, y le cambió el nombre por Joacim. Tomó a Joacaz y lo llevó a Egipto, y murió allí.
35 Sotheli Joachym yaf siluer and gold to Farao, whanne he hadde comaundid to the lond bi alle yeeris, that it schulde be brouyt, bi the comaundement of Farao; and he reiside of ech man bi hise myytis bothe siluer and gold, of the puple of the lond, that he schulde yyue to Pharao Nechao.
Joacim pagó la plata y el oro a Faraón, pero tuvo que establecer un impuesto a la tierra, para entregar el dinero según la orden de Faraón. Exigió a la gente del pueblo que cada uno pagara, según su evaluación, la plata y el oro para entregarlo a Faraón Necao.
36 Joachym was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede eleuene yeer in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Zebida, douyter of Phadaia of Ruma.
Cuando Joacim comenzó a reinar tenía 25 años, y reinó 11 años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Zebuda, hija de Pedaías de Ruma.
37 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis which hise fadris hadden do.
Hizo lo malo ante Yavé, conforme a todo lo que hicieron sus antepasados.
