2 Kings 2
1 Forsothe it was don, whanne the Lord wolde reise Elie bi a whirlewynd in to heuene, Elie and Elisee yeden fro Galgalis.
Đã đến lúc Chúa Hằng Hữu đem Ê-li lên trời trong một trận gió lốc, Ê-li bảo Ê-li-sê khi sắp rời Ghinh-ganh:
2 And Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me til into Bethel. To whom Elisee seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. And whanne thei hadden come doun to Bethel,
“Con ở lại đây, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo thầy đi Bê-tên.” Nhưng Ê-li-sê đáp: “Con thề với Chúa Hằng Hữu và với thầy rằng con sẽ không rời thầy.” Vậy, hai thầy trò đi Bê-tên.
3 the sones of prophetis, that weren in Bethel, yeden out to Elisee, and seiden to hym, Whether thou knowist, that the Lord schal take awey thi lord to dai fro thee? Which answeride, And I knowe; be ye stille.
Môn đệ các tiên tri ở Bê-tên đi đón thầy trò Ê-li và nói với Ê-li-sê: “Anh có biết hôm nay Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ đem thầy của anh lên trời không?” Ê-li-sê đáp: “Tôi biết chứ! Không cần các anh nói.”
4 Forsothe Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me into Jerico. And he seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. And whanne thei hadden come to Jerico,
Ê-li lại bảo Ê-li-sê: “Con ở lại đây, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo thầy đi Giê-ri-cô.” Ê-li-sê cương quyết: “Con không rời thầy. Con thề với Chúa Hằng Hữu và với thầy như thế.” Và thế là hai thầy trò cùng đi Giê-ri-cô.
5 the sones of prophetis, that weren in Jerico, neiyiden to Elisee, and seiden to hym, Whether thou knowist, that the Lord schal take awei thi lord to dai fro thee? And he seide, Y knowe; be ye stille.
Môn đệ các tiên tri ở Giê-ri-cô ra đón, nói với Ê-li-sê: “Hôm nay là ngày Chúa Hằng Hữu đem thầy của anh lên trời, anh biết đó chứ?” Ê-li-sê đáp: “Tôi biết chứ. Các anh không cần nói.”
6 Forsothe Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me `til to Jordan. Which seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. Therfor bothe yeden togidere;
Ê-li nói với Ê-li-sê lần thứ ba: “Con ở lại đây, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo thầy đến Sông Giô-đan.” Ê-li-sê vẫn khăng khăng: “Con không rời thầy. Con thề với Chúa Hằng Hữu và với thầy như thế.” Vậy, hai thầy trò tiếp tục đi.
7 and fifti men of the sones of prophetis sueden, which also stoden fer euen ayens; sothely thei bothe stoden ouer Jordan.
Họ đến đứng bên bờ sông Giô-đan. Có năm mươi người trong số các môn đệ của các tiên tri đi theo, đến đứng cách hai người một quãng.
8 And Elie took his mentil, and wlappide it, and smoot the watris; whiche weren departid `into euer ethir part, and bothe yeden bi the drie.
Ê-li lấy chiếc áo choàng cuộn lại, cầm áo đập xuống nước, nước rẽ ra hai bên. Hai người đi qua trên đất khô.
9 And whanne thei hadden passid, Elie seide to Elisee, Axe thou that, that thou wolt that Y do to thee, bifor that Y be takun awey fro thee. And Elisee seide, Y biseche, that thi double spirit be `maad in me.
Qua bờ bên kia, Ê-li nói với Ê-li-sê: “Con muốn xin thầy điều gì trước khi thầy được đem đi?” Ê-li-sê thưa: “Xin thần của thầy tác động gấp đôi trên con để con tiếp nối chức vụ của thầy.”
10 Which Elie answeride, Thou axist an hard thing; netheles if thou schalt se me, whanne Y schal be takun awei fro thee, that that thou axidist schal be; sotheli, if thou schalt not se, it schal not be.
Ê-li nói: “Con xin một việc khó. Nhưng nếu con thấy ta lúc ta được cất lên, thì con sẽ toại nguyện; nếu không, việc sẽ không thành.”
11 And whanne thei yeden, and spaken goynge, lo! a chare of fier and horsys of fier departiden euer either; and Elie stiede bi a whirlewynd in to heuene.
Trong lúc hai người vừa đi vừa nói chuyện, đột nhiên có một chiếc xe bằng lửa do một đoàn ngựa cũng bằng lửa kéo, phân rẽ hai người ra hai bên, và một cơn gió lốc đem Ê-li lên trời.
12 Forsothe Elise siy, and criede, My fadir! my fadir! the chare of Israel, and the charietere therof. And he siy no more Elie. And he took hise clothis, and to-rente tho in to twei partis.
Thấy cảnh tượng ấy, Ê-li-sê la lớn lên: “Cha ơi! Cha ơi! Xe và kỵ binh của Ít-ra-ên!” Đến lúc không còn thấy bóng thầy nữa, Ê-li-sê nắm áo mình, xé ra trong tâm trạng sầu não.
13 And he reiside the mentil of Elie, that felde doun to hym; and he turnede ayen, and stood ouer the ryuer of Jordan.
Ông nhặt chiếc áo choàng của Ê-li rơi xuống, quay về bờ sông Giô-đan,
14 And with the mentil of Elie, that felde doun to hym, he smoot the watris, whiche weren not departid. And he seide, Where is God of Elie also now? And he smoot the watris, and tho weren departid hidur and thidur; and Elisee passide.
vừa cầm áo đập xuống nước, vừa kêu lên: “Chúa Hằng Hữu, Thần của Ê-li ở đâu?” Nước sông rẽ ra hai bên và Ê-li-sê đi qua.
15 Sotheli the sones of prophetis, that weren in Jerico euene ayens, siyen, and seiden, The spirit of Elie restide on Elisee. And thei camen in to the meetyng of hym, and worschipiden hym lowli to erthe.
Nhóm môn đệ các tiên tri ở lại Giê-ri-cô, bên kia sông, thấy thế bảo nhau: “Thần của Ê-li đã ở lại với Ê-li-sê.” Họ đi ra đón Ê-li-sê, cung kính cúi chào,
16 And thei seiden to hym, Lo! with thi seruauntis ben fifti stronge men, that moun go, and seke thi lord, lest perauenture the Spirit of the Lord hath take hym, and hath cast forth hym in oon of the hillis, ethir in oon of the valeys.
và nói: “Các đầy tớ thầy có năm mươi người lực lưỡng nhất tại đây. Nếu thầy muốn, chúng tôi sẽ sai họ đi tìm chủ thầy. Biết đâu Thần Linh của Chúa đem chủ thầy lên, rồi đặt xuống trên một ngọn núi, hoặc tại một thung lũng nào chăng?” Ê-li-sê đáp: “Đừng bảo họ đi.”
17 Which seide, `Nyle ye sende. And thei constreyneden hym, til he assentide to hem, and seide, Sende ye. And thei senten fifti men; and whanne thei hadden souyt bi thre daies, thei founden not.
Nhưng họ cứ ép nài, đến độ ông khó xử, phải nói: “Thì bảo họ đi đi!” Năm mươi người đi tìm suốt ba ngày nhưng chẳng thấy Ê-li đâu cả.
18 And thei turneden ayen to hym; and he dwelide in Jerico. And he seide to hem, Whether Y seide not to you, Nyle ye sende?
Họ trở về khi Ê-li-sê vẫn còn ở Giê-ri-cô. Ông nói: “Tôi đã bảo đừng đi mà!”
19 Therfor the men of the citee seiden to Elisee, Lo! the dwellyng of this cite is ful good, as thou thi silf, lord, seest; but the watris ben ful yuele, and the lond is bareyn.
Bây giờ dân thành Giê-ri-cô đến trình bày với Ê-li-sê: “Như thầy thấy đó, thành này ở vào một vị trí rất tốt. Chỉ tiếc vì nước độc, đất không sinh sản hoa màu.”
20 And he seide, Brynge ye to me a newe vessel, and sende ye salt in to it. And whanne thei hadden brouyt it,
Ông bảo: “Đem cho tôi một cái bát mới đựng đầy muối.” Người ta vâng lời.
21 he yede out to the welle of watris, and sente salt in to it, and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, Y haue helid these watris, and nethir deeth, nether bareynesse, schal be more in tho.
Ông đi ra suối nước, đổ muối xuống suối và nói: “Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: ‘Ta cho nước này hóa lành, từ nay nước sẽ không gây chết chóc nhưng sẽ làm cho đất sinh sản hoa màu.’”
22 Therfor the watris weren heelid til in to this dai, bi the word of Elisee, which he spak.
Và từ đó đến nay, nước hóa lành như lời Ê-li-sê đã nói.
23 Forsothe Elisee stiede fro thennus in to Bethel; and whanne he stiede bi the weie, litle children yeden out of the citee, and scorneden hym, and seiden, Stie, thou ballard! stie, thou ballard!
Rời Giê-ri-cô, Ê-li-sê đi Bê-tên. Dọc đường có bọn trẻ con trong thành kéo ra chế giễu ông: “Lên đi, lão sói đầu ơi! Lên đi, lão sói đầu ơi!”
24 And whanne he hadde biholde, he siy hem, and curside hem in the name of the Lord. And twey beeris yeden out of the forest, and to-rente fourti children of hem.
Ông quay lại nhìn, rồi nhân danh Chúa Hằng Hữu nguyền rủa chúng nó. Có hai con gấu cái trong rừng ra, xé xác bốn mươi hai đứa trong bọn ấy.
25 Sotheli Elisee wente fro thennus in to the hil of Carmele, and fro thennus he turnede `ayen to Samarie.
Ông tiếp tục đi đến Núi Cát-mên, rồi quay lại Sa-ma-ri.
