2 Kings 17
1 Yn the tweluethe yeer of Achaz, kyng of Juda, Osee, sone of Hela, regnyde in Samarie on Israel nyne yeer.
Im zwölften Jahre des Judakönigs Achaz ward Hosea, Elas Sohn, zu Samaria König aber Israel für neun Jahre.
2 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, but not as the kyngis of Israel, that weren bifor hym.
Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, aber nicht wie Israels Könige, die vor ihm gewesen waren.
3 Salmanasar, kyng of Assiriens, stiede ayens this Osee, and Osee was maad seruaunt to hym, and yildide tributis to hym.
Gegen ihn zog der Assyrerkönig Salmanassar heran. Und Hosea ward ihm untertan und lieferte ihm Abgaben.
4 And whanne the kyng of Assiriens hadde perseyued, that Osee he enforside to be rebelle, and hadde sent messangeris to Sua, kyng of Egipt, that he schulde not yyue tributis to the kyng of Assiriens, as he was wont bi alle yeeris, `the kyng of Assiriens bisegide hym, and sente him boundun in to prisoun.
Da fand der Assyrerkönig an Hosea Verrat, weil er Boten an Ägyptens König So gesandt und nicht mehr die jährlichen Abgaben an den Assyrerkönig geleistet hatte. Darum verhaftete ihn der Assyrerkönig und legte ihn gefesselt ins Gefängnis.
5 And he yede thoruy al the lond, and he stiede to Samarie, and bisegide it bi thre yeer.
Und der Assyrerkönig besetzte das ganze Land. Er zog auch gegen Samaria und belagerte es drei Jahre.
6 Forsothe in the nynthe yeer of Osee, the kyng of Assiriens took Samarie, and translatide Israel in to Assiriens; and he puttide hem in Hela, and in Thabor, bisidis the flood Gozam, in the citee of Medeis.
Im neunten Jahre Hoseas aber eroberte der Assyrerkönig Samaria; er führte Israel nach Assyrien und gab ihm Wohnsitze in Chalach und am Chabor, dem Flusse Gozans, und in Mediens Städten.
7 Forsothe it was don, whanne the sones of Israel hadden synned bifor her Lord God, that ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hond of Farao, kyng of Egipt, thei worschipeden alien goddis;
Die Söhne Israels hatten am Herrn, ihrem Gott, gesündigt, der sie aus Ägypterland, aus des ägyptischen Königs Pharao Hand, weggeführt hatte. Sie verehrten andere Götter
8 and yeden bi the custom of hethene men, whiche the Lord hadde wastid in the siyt of the sones of Israel, and of the kyngis of Israel, for thei hadden do in lijk maner.
und wandelten in den Satzungen der Heiden, die der Herr vor Israels Söhnen vertrieben hatte. Und erst Israels Könige! Was hatten sie getan?
9 And the sones of Israel offendiden her Lord God bi wordis not riytful, and thei bildiden to hem silf hiy thingis in alle her citees, fro the tour of keperis `til to a strengthid citee.
Die Söhne Israels führten unwahre Reden über den Herrn, ihren Gott, und bauten sich Höhen in all ihren Städten, vom Wachtturm bis zur befestigten Stadt.
10 And thei maden to hem ymagis, and wodis, in ech hiy hil, and vndur ech tree ful of bowis;
Auch setzten sie sich Steinmale und Ascheren auf jedem hohen Hügel und unter jedem grünen Baum.
11 and thei brenten there encence on the auteris bi the custom of hethene men, whiche the Lord hadde translatid fro the face of hem. And thei diden werste wordis, and thei wraththiden the Lord;
Dort räucherten sie auf allen Höhen wie die Heiden, die der Herr vor ihnen weggeführt, und taten böse Dinge, um den Herrn zu kränken.
12 and worschipiden vnclenesses, of whiche the Lord comaundide to hem, that thei schulden not do this word.
Sie dienten den Götzen, von denen der Herr zu ihnen gesagt: "Tut dies nicht!"
13 And the Lord witnesside in Israel and in Juda, bi the hond of alle prophetis and seeris, and seide, Turne ye ayen fro youre werste weies, and kepe ye my comaundementis, and ceremonyes, bi al the lawe whiche Y comaundide to youre fadris, and as Y sente to you in the hond of my seruauntis prophetis.
Der Herr verwarnte Israel und Juda durch seine Propheten, durch jeden Seher mit den Worten: "Kehrt um von euren bösen Wegen und haltet meine Satzungen und Vorschriften genau der Lehre nach, die ich euren Vätern geboten, nach dem, was ich durch meine Diener, die Propheten, euch entboten habe!"
14 Whiche herden not, but maden hard her nol bi the nol of her fadris, that nolden obeie to her Lord God.
Sie aber hatten nicht gehorcht, sondern waren halsstarrig wie ihre Väter, die dem Herrn, ihrem Gott, nicht vertraut hatten.
15 And thei castiden, awei the lawful thingis of hym, and the couenaunt which he couenauntide with her fadris, and the witnessyngis bi whiche he witnesside to hem; and thei sueden vanytees, `that is, idols, and diden veynli; and sueden hethene men, that weren `bi the cumpas of hem; of whiche vanytees the Lord comaundide to hem, that thei schulden not do as also tho hethene men diden.
Sie mißachteten seine Gesetze und seinen Bund, den er mit ihren Vätern geschlossen, ebenso seine Warnungen, durch die er sie gewarnt hatte. Sie gingen dem Nichtigen nach und verfielen der Nichtigkeit wie die Heiden, die rings um sie waren, obgleich der Herr ihnen verboten hatte, zu tun wie jene.
16 And thei forsoken alle the comaundementis of her Lord God, and thei maden to hem twei yotun calues, and wodis, and worschipiden al the knyythod of heuene; and thei seruyden Baal, and halewiden to hym her sones,
Sie verließen alle Gebote des Herrn, ihres Gottes, und machten sich Gußbilder, zwei Kälber. Auch machten sie Ascheren, beteten das ganze Himmelsheer an und dienten dem Baal.
17 and her douytris thoruy fier, and thei seruyden to fals dyuynyng, and to dyuynyng bi chiterynge of briddis; and thei yauen hem silf to do yuel bifor the Lord, and thei wraththiden hym.
Sie führten ihre Söhne und Töchter durch das Feuer, trieben Wahrsagerei und Zeichendeuterei und gaben sich dazu her, zu tun, was dem Herrn mißfiel, um ihn zu kränken.
18 And the Lord was wrooth greetli to Israel; and he took awei hem fro his siyt, and noon lefte, no but the lynage of Juda oneli.
Da zürnte der Herr heftig über Israel und schaffte es von seinem Angesichte weg. Nichts blieb übrig als allein der Stamm Juda.
19 But nether Juda hym silf kepte the heestis of `his Lord God, netheles he erride, and yede in the errour of Israel, whiche it wrouyte.
Aber auch Juda hielt nicht die Gebote des Herrn, seines Gottes, sondern wandelte in Israels Satzungen, die es selber gemacht hatte.
20 And the Lord castide awei al the seed of Israel, and turmentide hem, and bitook hem in the hond of rauynouris; til he castide awei hem fro his face,
So verwarf der Herr Israels ganzen Stamm und demütigte ihn. Er gab ihn in die Hand von Plünderern, bis er sie schließlich ganz von seinem Angesicht verstieß.
21 fro that tyme in which Israel was departid fro the hous of Dauid, and maden to hem a kyng, Jeroboam, sone of Nabath. For Jeroboam departide Israel fro the Lord, and made hem to do a greet synne.
Denn Israel hatte sich vom Davidshause losgerissen und Nebats Sohn Jeroboam zum König gemacht. Jeroboam aber drängte Israel vom Herrn hinweg und verleitete es zu schwerer Sünde.
22 And the sones of Israel yeden in alle the synnes of Jeroboam, whiche he hadde do; and thei departiden not fro tho synnes,
So wandelten Israels Söhne ganz in Jeroboams Sünden, die er getan. Sie ließen nicht davon,
23 til the Lord dide awei Israel fro his face, as he spak in the hond of alle hise seruauntis prophetis; and Israel was translatid fro his lond in to Assiriens til in to this dai.
bis der Herr schließlich Israel von seinem Antlitz verstieß, wie er durch all seine Diener, die Propheten, gedroht hatte. So wanderte Israel von seiner Heimat in die assyrische Gefangenschaft bis auf diesen Tag.
24 Forsothe the kyng of Assiriens brouyte puple fro Babiloyne, and fro Cutha, and fro Hailath, and fro Emath, and fro Sepharuaym, and settide hem in the citees of Samarie for the sones of Israel; whiche hadden in possessioun Samarie, and dwelliden in the citees therof.
Der Assyrerkönig brachte nun Leute aus Babel, Kuta, Awwa, Hamat und Sepharvaim und siedelte sie in Samarias Städten statt der Söhne Israels an. So nahmen sie Samaria in Besitz und wohnten in seinen Städten.
25 And whanne thei bigunnen to dwelle there, thei dredden not the Lord; and the Lord sente to hem liouns, that killiden hem.
In der ersten Zeit, da sie dort wohnten, fürchteten sie den Herrn nicht. Da sandte der Herr Löwen gegen sie, und diese würgten unter ihnen.
26 And it was teld to the kyng of Assiriens, and was seid, The folkis whiche thou translatidist, and madist to dwelle in the citees of Samarie, kunnen not the lawful thingis of God of the lond; and the Lord sente liouns in to hem, and lo! liouns sleen hem; for thei kunnen not the custom of God of the lond.
Da meldete man dem Assyrerkönig: "Die Völker, die du weggeführt und in Samarias Städten angesiedelt hast, kennen nicht das Recht des Landesgottes. Darum sandte er die Löwen unter sie, und diese würgten sie, weil sie nicht des Landesgottes Recht kennen."
27 Sotheli the kyng of Assiriens comaundide, and seide, Lede ye thidur oon of the preestis, whiche ye brouyten prisoneris fro thennus, that he go, and dwelle with hem, and teche hem the lawful thingis of God of the lond.
Da befahl der Assyrerkönig: "Führt dorthin einen der Priester zurück, die ihr von dort weggeführt habt! Er gehe und wohne dort und belehre sie über das Recht des Landesgottes!"
28 Therfor whanne oon of these preestis had come, that weren led prisoneris fro Samarie, he dwellide in Bethel, and tauyte hem, how thei schulden worschipe the Lord.
So kam einer der aus Samaria weggeführten Priester und wohnte in Betel. Und er lehrte sie, wie sie den Herrn zu fürchten hätten.
29 And ech folk made his god, and thei settiden tho goddis in the hiy templis, whiche the men of Samarie hadden maad, folk and folk in her citees, in whiche thei dwelliden.
Sie machten sich aber, Volk für Volk, jedes seinen eigenen Gott und stellten ihn in das Haus der Höhen, die die Samariter gemacht hatten, jedes Volk in seinen Städten, wo es wohnte.
30 For men of Babiloyne maden Socoth Benoth; forsothe men of Cutha maden Vergel; and men of Emath maden Asyma;
So machten sich die Leute von Babel Sukkot Benot, die Leute von Kuta den Nergal, die Leute von Hamat eine Aschima
31 forsothe Eueis maden Nabaath and Tharcha; sotheli thei that weren of Sepharuaym brenten her sones in fier to Adramelech and Anamelech, goddis of Sepharuaym.
und die Arriter den Nibchaz und den Tartak. Die Sepharviter verbrannten ihre Kinder im Feuer zu Ehren des Adarmelek und des Anammelek, der Götter von Sepharvaim.
32 And netheles thei worschipiden the Lord; forsothe of the laste men thei maden preestis of the hiye thingis, and settiden hem in hiye templis.
Sie fürchteten aber auch den Herrn und bestellten sich aus ihren Vornehmen Leute zu Höhenpriestern, und diese waren für sie im Höhenhaus tätig.
33 And whanne thei worschipiden God, thei serueden also her goddis, bi the custom of hethene men, fro whiche thei weren translatid to Samarie;
Den Herrn fürchteten sie zwar; aber ihren Göttern dienten sie auch nach der Art der Heiden, von denen man sie weggeführt hatte.
34 `til in to present dai thei suen the eld custom; thei dredden not the Lord, nethir thei kepen hise cerymonyes, and domes, and lawe, and comaundement, which the Lord comaundide to the sones of Jacob, whom he nemyde Israel;
Bis auf diesen Tag tun sie nach den alten Gebräuchen. Sie fürchten zwar den Herrn, tun aber auch nach ihren Geboten und Rechten, wie nach der Lehre und dem Gebot, das der Herr den Söhnen Jakobs gegeben hat, dem er den Namen Israel beilegte,
35 and he smoot a couenaunt with hem, and comaundide to hem, and seide, Nyle ye drede alien goddis, and onoure ye not outwardli hem, nethir worschipe ye inwardli hem, and make ye not sacrifice to hem;
und mit denen der Herr einen Bund geschlossen und ihnen geboten hatte: "Fürchtet nicht andere Götter! Betet sie nicht an! Dient ihnen nicht! Opfert ihnen nicht!
36 but youre Lord God, that ledde you out of the lond of Egipt in greet strengthe, and in arm holdun forth, drede ye hym, and worschipe ye hym, and make ye sacrifice to hym.
Sondern nur den Herrn, der euch aus Ägypterland mit großer Kraft und ausgestrecktem Arm herausgeführt hat, fürchtet und ihn betet an und ihm opfert!
37 And kepe ye the cerymonyes, and domes, and the lawe, and comaundement, which he wroot to you, that ye do in alle daies; and drede ye not alien goddis.
Und die Satzungen und Rechte, die Lehre und das Gebot, das er euch aufgeschrieben, sollt ihr beobachten und allzeit befolgen! Aber andere Götter fürchtet nicht!
38 And nyle ye foryete the couenaunt, which he smoot with you, nether worschipe ye alien goddis;
Den Bund, den ich mit euch geschlossen, sollt ihr nicht vergessen und keine anderen Götter fürchten!
39 but drede ye youre Lord God, and he schal delyuere you fro the hond of alle youre enemyes.
Nur den Herrn, euren Gott, sollt ihr fürchten! Dann rettet er euch aus all eurer Feinde Hand."
40 Forsothe thei herden not, but diden bi her formere custom.
Aber sie gehorchten nicht, sondern taten nach ihrer alten Art.
41 Therfor these hethene men dredden sotheli God; but netheles thei serueden also her idols, for bothe her sones and the sones of sones doen so, til in to present dai, as her fadris diden.
So fürchteten diese Heidenvölker zwar den Herrn; aber sie dienten auch ihren Schnitzbildern. Und selbst ihre Söhne und Enkel tun, wie ihre Väter bis auf diesen Tag getan haben.
