2 Kings 17
1 Yn the tweluethe yeer of Achaz, kyng of Juda, Osee, sone of Hela, regnyde in Samarie on Israel nyne yeer.
La douzième année d'Achaz Roi de Juda, Hosée fils d'Ela [commença] à régner à Samarie sur Israël, [et il régna] neuf ans.
2 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, but not as the kyngis of Israel, that weren bifor hym.
Et il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, non pas toutefois comme les Rois d'Israël qui avaient été avant lui.
3 Salmanasar, kyng of Assiriens, stiede ayens this Osee, and Osee was maad seruaunt to hym, and yildide tributis to hym.
Salmanéser Roi des Assyriens monta contre lui, et Hosée lui fut asservi, et il lui envoyait des présents.
4 And whanne the kyng of Assiriens hadde perseyued, that Osee he enforside to be rebelle, and hadde sent messangeris to Sua, kyng of Egipt, that he schulde not yyue tributis to the kyng of Assiriens, as he was wont bi alle yeeris, `the kyng of Assiriens bisegide hym, and sente him boundun in to prisoun.
Mais le Roi des Assyriens découvrit une conspiration en Hosée; car Hosée avait envoyé des messagers vers So, Roi d'Egypte, et il n'envoyait plus de présents tous les ans au Roi d'Assyrie; c'est pourquoi le Roi des Assyriens l'enferma, et le mit en prison.
5 And he yede thoruy al the lond, and he stiede to Samarie, and bisegide it bi thre yeer.
Le Roi des Assyriens monta par tout le pays, et monta à Samarie, et l'assiégea pendant trois ans.
6 Forsothe in the nynthe yeer of Osee, the kyng of Assiriens took Samarie, and translatide Israel in to Assiriens; and he puttide hem in Hela, and in Thabor, bisidis the flood Gozam, in the citee of Medeis.
La neuvième année d'Hosée, le Roi des Assyriens prit Samarie, et transporta les Israëlites en Assyrie, et les fit habiter à Chalach, et sur Chabor fleuve de Gozan, et dans les villes des Mèdes.
7 Forsothe it was don, whanne the sones of Israel hadden synned bifor her Lord God, that ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hond of Farao, kyng of Egipt, thei worschipeden alien goddis;
Car il était arrivé que les enfants d'Israël avaient péché contre l'Eternel leur Dieu qui les avait fait monter hors du pays d'Egypte, de dessous la main de Pharaon Roi d'Egypte, et avaient révéré d'autres dieux.
8 and yeden bi the custom of hethene men, whiche the Lord hadde wastid in the siyt of the sones of Israel, and of the kyngis of Israel, for thei hadden do in lijk maner.
Et ils avaient suivi le train des nations que l'Eternel avait chassées de devant les enfants d'Israël, et le train des Rois d'Israël qu'ils avaient établis.
9 And the sones of Israel offendiden her Lord God bi wordis not riytful, and thei bildiden to hem silf hiy thingis in alle her citees, fro the tour of keperis `til to a strengthid citee.
Et les enfants d'Israël avaient fait couvertement des choses qui n'étaient point droites devant l'Eternel leur Dieu; et s'étaient bâti des hauts lieux par toutes leurs villes, depuis la tour des gardes jusqu'aux villes fortes.
10 And thei maden to hem ymagis, and wodis, in ech hiy hil, and vndur ech tree ful of bowis;
Ils s'étaient dressé des statues, et [planté] des bocages, sur toutes les hautes collines et sous tout arbre verdoyant.
11 and thei brenten there encence on the auteris bi the custom of hethene men, whiche the Lord hadde translatid fro the face of hem. And thei diden werste wordis, and thei wraththiden the Lord;
Ils avaient fait là des encensements dans tous les hauts lieux, à l'imitation des nations que l'Eternel avait chassées de devant eux; et ils avaient fait des choses méchantes pour irriter l'Eternel.
12 and worschipiden vnclenesses, of whiche the Lord comaundide to hem, that thei schulden not do this word.
Et ils avaient servi les dieux de fiente, au sujet desquels l'Eternel leur avait dit: Vous ne ferez point cela.
13 And the Lord witnesside in Israel and in Juda, bi the hond of alle prophetis and seeris, and seide, Turne ye ayen fro youre werste weies, and kepe ye my comaundementis, and ceremonyes, bi al the lawe whiche Y comaundide to youre fadris, and as Y sente to you in the hond of my seruauntis prophetis.
Et l'Eternel avait sommé Israël et Juda par le moyen de tous les Prophètes, ayant toute sorte de vision, en disant: Détournez-vous de toutes vos méchantes voies; retournez, et gardez mes commandements, et mes statuts, selon toute la Loi que j'ai commandée à vos pères, et que je vous ai envoyée par mes serviteurs les Prophètes.
14 Whiche herden not, but maden hard her nol bi the nol of her fadris, that nolden obeie to her Lord God.
Mais ils n'avaient point écouté, et ils avaient roidi leur cou, comme leurs pères [avaient roidi] leur cou, lesquels n'avaient point cru à l'Eternel leur Dieu.
15 And thei castiden, awei the lawful thingis of hym, and the couenaunt which he couenauntide with her fadris, and the witnessyngis bi whiche he witnesside to hem; and thei sueden vanytees, `that is, idols, and diden veynli; and sueden hethene men, that weren `bi the cumpas of hem; of whiche vanytees the Lord comaundide to hem, that thei schulden not do as also tho hethene men diden.
Et ils avaient dédaigné ses statuts, et son alliance, qu'il avait traitée avec leurs pères, et ses témoignages, par lesquels il les avait sommés, et avaient marché après la vanité, et étaient devenus vains, et avaient suivi les nations qui étaient autour d'eux, touchant lesquelles l'Eternel avait commandé qu'ils ne fissent point comme elles.
16 And thei forsoken alle the comaundementis of her Lord God, and thei maden to hem twei yotun calues, and wodis, and worschipiden al the knyythod of heuene; and thei seruyden Baal, and halewiden to hym her sones,
Et ayant abandonné tous les commandements de l'Eternel leur Dieu, ils s'étaient fait des simulacres de fonte, [c'est-à-dire] deux veaux, et avaient planté des bocages, et s'étaient prosternés devant toute l'armée des cieux, et avaient servi Bahal.
17 and her douytris thoruy fier, and thei seruyden to fals dyuynyng, and to dyuynyng bi chiterynge of briddis; and thei yauen hem silf to do yuel bifor the Lord, and thei wraththiden hym.
Ils avaient fait aussi passer leurs fils, et leurs filles par le feu, et s'étaient adonnés aux divinations, et aux enchantements, et s'étaient vendus pour faire ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel afin de l'irriter.
18 And the Lord was wrooth greetli to Israel; and he took awei hem fro his siyt, and noon lefte, no but the lynage of Juda oneli.
C'est pourquoi l'Eternel fut fort irrité contre Israël, et il les rejeta, en sorte qu'il n'y eut que la seule Tribu de Juda, qui restât.
19 But nether Juda hym silf kepte the heestis of `his Lord God, netheles he erride, and yede in the errour of Israel, whiche it wrouyte.
Et même Juda ne garda point les commandements de l'Eternel son Dieu, mais ils marchèrent dans les ordonnances qu'Israël avait établies.
20 And the Lord castide awei al the seed of Israel, and turmentide hem, and bitook hem in the hond of rauynouris; til he castide awei hem fro his face,
C'est pourquoi l'Eternel rejeta toute la race d'Israël, car il les affligea, et les livra entre les mains de ceux qui les pillaient, jusqu'à ce qu'il les eût rejetés de devant sa face.
21 fro that tyme in which Israel was departid fro the hous of Dauid, and maden to hem a kyng, Jeroboam, sone of Nabath. For Jeroboam departide Israel fro the Lord, and made hem to do a greet synne.
Parce qu'Israël s'était retranché de la maison de David, et avait établi Roi Jéroboam fils de Nébat, car Jéroboam avait débauché Israël, afin qu'il ne suivît plus l'Eternel, et leur avait fait commettre un grand péché.
22 And the sones of Israel yeden in alle the synnes of Jeroboam, whiche he hadde do; and thei departiden not fro tho synnes,
C'est pourquoi les enfants d'Israël marchèrent dans tous les péchés que Jéroboam avait faits, et ils ne s'en sont point retirés.
23 til the Lord dide awei Israel fro his face, as he spak in the hond of alle hise seruauntis prophetis; and Israel was translatid fro his lond in to Assiriens til in to this dai.
Jusqu'à ce que l'Eternel les a rejetés de devant soi, selon qu'il en avait parlé par le moyen de tous ses serviteurs les Prophètes; et Israël a été transporté de dessus la terre en Assyrie, jusqu'à ce jour.
24 Forsothe the kyng of Assiriens brouyte puple fro Babiloyne, and fro Cutha, and fro Hailath, and fro Emath, and fro Sepharuaym, and settide hem in the citees of Samarie for the sones of Israel; whiche hadden in possessioun Samarie, and dwelliden in the citees therof.
Et le Roi des Assyriens fit venir des gens de Babel, et de Cuth, et de Hava, et de Hamath, et de Sépharvajim, et les fit habiter dans les villes de Samarie, en la place des enfants d'Israël; et ils possédèrent la Samarie, et ils habitèrent dans ses villes.
25 And whanne thei bigunnen to dwelle there, thei dredden not the Lord; and the Lord sente to hem liouns, that killiden hem.
Or il arriva qu'au commencement qu'ils habitèrent là, ils ne révérèrent point l'Eternel, et l'Eternel envoya contr'eux des lions, qui les tuaient.
26 And it was teld to the kyng of Assiriens, and was seid, The folkis whiche thou translatidist, and madist to dwelle in the citees of Samarie, kunnen not the lawful thingis of God of the lond; and the Lord sente liouns in to hem, and lo! liouns sleen hem; for thei kunnen not the custom of God of the lond.
Et on dit au Roi des Assyriens: Les nations que tu as transportées et fait habiter dans les villes de Samarie, ne savent pas la manière de servir le Dieu du pays; c'est pourquoi il a envoyé contr'eux des lions, et voilà, [ces lions] les tuent, parce qu'ils ne savent pas la manière de servir le Dieu du pays.
27 Sotheli the kyng of Assiriens comaundide, and seide, Lede ye thidur oon of the preestis, whiche ye brouyten prisoneris fro thennus, that he go, and dwelle with hem, and teche hem the lawful thingis of God of the lond.
Alors le Roi des Assyriens commanda, en disant: Faites aller là quelqu'un des Sacrificateurs que vous en avez transportés; qu'on aille donc, et qu'on demeure là, et qu'on enseigne la manière de servir le Dieu du pays.
28 Therfor whanne oon of these preestis had come, that weren led prisoneris fro Samarie, he dwellide in Bethel, and tauyte hem, how thei schulden worschipe the Lord.
Ainsi un des Sacrificateurs qu'on avait transportés de Samarie, vint et habita à Béthel, et il leur enseignait comment ils devaient révérer l'Eternel.
29 And ech folk made his god, and thei settiden tho goddis in the hiy templis, whiche the men of Samarie hadden maad, folk and folk in her citees, in whiche thei dwelliden.
Mais chaque nation fit ses dieux, et ils les mirent dans les maisons des hauts lieux que les Samaritains avaient faits; chaque nation les mit dans ses villes où ils habitaient.
30 For men of Babiloyne maden Socoth Benoth; forsothe men of Cutha maden Vergel; and men of Emath maden Asyma;
Car les gens de Babel firent Succoth-benoth; et les gens de Cuth firent Nergal; et les gens de Hamath firent Asima.
31 forsothe Eueis maden Nabaath and Tharcha; sotheli thei that weren of Sepharuaym brenten her sones in fier to Adramelech and Anamelech, goddis of Sepharuaym.
Et les Haviens firent Nibchaz et Tartac; mais ceux de Sépharvajim brûlaient leurs enfants au feu à Adrammélec et Hanammélec, les dieux de Sépharvajim.
32 And netheles thei worschipiden the Lord; forsothe of the laste men thei maden preestis of the hiye thingis, and settiden hem in hiye templis.
Toutefois ils révéraient l'Eternel, et ils établirent pour Sacrificateurs des hauts lieux des derniers d'entr'eux, qui leur faisaient [le service] dans les maisons des hauts lieux.
33 And whanne thei worschipiden God, thei serueden also her goddis, bi the custom of hethene men, fro whiche thei weren translatid to Samarie;
[Ainsi] ils révéraient l'Eternel, et en même temps ils servaient leurs dieux à la manière des nations qu'on avait transportées hors de là.
34 `til in to present dai thei suen the eld custom; thei dredden not the Lord, nethir thei kepen hise cerymonyes, and domes, and lawe, and comaundement, which the Lord comaundide to the sones of Jacob, whom he nemyde Israel;
Et jusqu'à ce jour ils font selon leurs premières coutumes; ils ne révèrent point l'Eternel, et néanmoins ils ne font ni selon leurs statuts et selon leurs ordonnances, ni selon la Loi [et] le commandement que l'Eternel Dieu donna aux enfants de Jacob, lequel il nomma Israël.
35 and he smoot a couenaunt with hem, and comaundide to hem, and seide, Nyle ye drede alien goddis, and onoure ye not outwardli hem, nethir worschipe ye inwardli hem, and make ye not sacrifice to hem;
Avec lesquels l'Eternel avait traité alliance, et auxquels il avait commandé, en disant: Vous ne révérerez point d'autres dieux, et ne vous prosternerez point devant eux; vous ne les servirez point, et vous ne leur sacrifierez point.
36 but youre Lord God, that ledde you out of the lond of Egipt in greet strengthe, and in arm holdun forth, drede ye hym, and worschipe ye hym, and make ye sacrifice to hym.
Mais vous révérerez l'Eternel qui vous a fait monter hors du pays d'Egypte par une grande force, et avec un bras étendu; et vous vous prosternerez devant lui, et vous lui sacrifierez.
37 And kepe ye the cerymonyes, and domes, and the lawe, and comaundement, which he wroot to you, that ye do in alle daies; and drede ye not alien goddis.
Vous prendrez garde à faire toujours les statuts, les ordonnances, la Loi, et les commandements qu'il vous a écrits; et vous ne révérerez point d'autres dieux.
38 And nyle ye foryete the couenaunt, which he smoot with you, nether worschipe ye alien goddis;
Vous n'oublierez donc point l'alliance que j'ai traitée avec vous, et vous ne révérerez point d'autres dieux;
39 but drede ye youre Lord God, and he schal delyuere you fro the hond of alle youre enemyes.
Mais vous révérerez l'Eternel votre Dieu, et il vous délivrera de la main de tous vos ennemis.
40 Forsothe thei herden not, but diden bi her formere custom.
Mais ils n'écoutèrent point, et ils firent selon leurs premières coutumes.
41 Therfor these hethene men dredden sotheli God; but netheles thei serueden also her idols, for bothe her sones and the sones of sones doen so, til in to present dai, as her fadris diden.
Ainsi ces nations-là révéraient l'Eternel, et servaient en même temps leurs images; et leurs enfants, et les enfants de leurs enfants font jusqu'à ce jour comme leurs pères ont fait.
