2 Kings 14
1 Yn the secounde yeer of Joas, sone of Joachas, kyng of Israel, Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, regnyde.
La seconde année de Joas fils de Joachaz Roi d'Israël, Amatsia, fils de Joas Roi de Juda commença à régner.
2 Amasie was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne; forsothe he regnyde in Jerusalem nyne and twenti yeer; the name of his modir was Joade of Jerusalem.
Il était âgé de vingt-cinq ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna vingt-neuf ans à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Jéhohaddan, [et était] de Jérusalem.
3 And he dide riytfulnesse bifor the Lord, netheles not as Dauid, his fadir; he dide bi alle thingis whiche Joas, his fadir, dide, no but this oonli,
Et il fit ce qui est droit devant l'Eternel, non pas toutefois comme David son père; il fit comme Joas son père avait fait.
4 that he dide not awei hiy thingis; for yit the puple made sacrifice, and brent encence in hiy thingis.
De sorte qu'il n'y eut que les hauts lieux qui ne furent point ôtés; le peuple sacrifiait encore et faisait des encensements dans les hauts lieux.
5 And whanne he hadde gete the rewme, he smoot hise seruauntis, that hadden killid the kyng, his fadir;
Et il arriva que dès que le Royaume fut affermi entre ses mains, il fit mourir ses serviteurs qui avaient tué le Roi son père.
6 but he killide not the sones of hem that hadden slayn `the kyng, bi that that is writun in the book of the lawe of Moyses, as the Lord comaundide to Moises, and seide, Fadris schulen not die for the sones, nethir the sones for the fadris, but eche man schal die in his owne synne.
Mais il ne fit point mourir les enfants de ceux qui l'avaient tué; suivant ce qui est écrit au Livre de la Loi de Moïse, dans lequel l'Eternel a commandé, en disant: On ne fera point mourir les pères pour les enfants, on ne fera pas non plus mourir les enfants pour les pères; mais on fera mourir chacun pour son péché.
7 He smoot Edom in the valey of makyngis of salt, `he smoot ten thousynde, and took `the Stoon in batel; and he clepide the name therof Jethel, `til in to present dai.
Il frappa dix mille hommes d'Edom en la vallée du sel, et prit Sélah par guerre, et la nomma Jokthéel, [qui est le nom qu'elle a eu] jusqu'à ce jour.
8 Thanne Amasie sente messangeris to Joas, sone of Joachaz, sone of Hieu, kyng of Israel, and seide, Come thou, and se we vs `in batel.
Alors Amatsia envoya des messagers vers Joas le fils de Joachaz, fils de Jéhu, Roi d'Israël, pour lui dire: Viens, [et] que nous nous voyions l'un l'autre.
9 And Joas, kyng of Israel, sente ayen to Amasie, kyng of Juda, and seide, The cardue, `that is, a low eerbe, and ful of thornes, of the Liban sente to the cedre, which is in the Liban, and seide, Yyue thi douytir wijf to my sone; and the beestis of the forest, that ben in the Liban, passiden, and tredden doun the cardue.
Et Joas Roi d'Israël envoya dire à Amatsia Roi de Juda: L'épine qui est au Liban a envoyé dire au cèdre qui est au Liban: Donne ta fille pour femme à mon fils, mais les bêtes sauvages qui sont au Liban, ont passé, et ont foulé l'épine.
10 Thou hast smyte, and haddist the maistri on Edom, and thin herte hath reisid thee; be thou apaied with glorie, and sitte in thin hows; whi excitist thou yuel, that thou falle, and Juda with thee?
[Parce que] tu as rudement frappé Edom, ton cœur s'est élevé. Contente-toi de ta gloire, et tiens-toi dans ta maison; pourquoi exciterais-tu le mal par lequel tu tomberas, toi et Juda avec toi?
11 And Amasie assentide not `to be in pees; and Joas, kyng of Israel, stiede, and he and Amasie, kyng of Juda, sien hem silf in Bethsames, a citee of Juda.
Mais Amatsia ne voulut point y acquiescer; et Joas Roi d'Israël monta, et ils se virent l'un l'autre, lui et Amatsia Roi de Juda, en Bethsémes, qui est de Juda.
12 And Juda was smytun bifor Israel; and thei fledden ech man in to his tabernaclis.
Et Juda fut défait par Israël, et ils s'enfuirent chacun dans leurs tentes.
13 Sotheli Joas, kyng of Israel, took in Bethsames Amasie, kyng of Juda, the sone of Joas, sone of Ocozie, and brouyte hym in to Jerusalem; and he brak the wal of Jerusalem, fro the yate of Effraym `til to the yate of the corner, bi foure hundrid cubitis.
Et Joas Roi d'Israël prit Amatsia Roi de Juda, fils de Joas, fils d'Achazia, en Bethsémes, puis il vint à Jérusalem et fit une brèche de quatre cents coudées à la muraille de Jérusalem, depuis la porte d'Ephraïm, jusqu'à la porte du coin.
14 And he took al the gold and siluer, and alle vessels, that weren foundun in the hows of the Lord, and in the tresours of the kyng; and he took ostagis, and turnede ayen in to Samarie.
Et ayant pris tout l'or et tout l'argent, et tous les vaisseaux qui furent trouvés dans la maison de l'Eternel, et dans les trésors de la maison Royale, et des gens pour otages, il s'en retourna à Samarie.
15 Sotheli the resydue of wordis of Joas, whiche he dide, and his strengthe, bi which he fauyt ayens Amasie, kyng of Juda, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of dayes of the kyngis of Israel?
Le reste des faits de Joas, et sa valeur, et comment il combattit contre Amatsia, tout cela n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois d'Israël?
16 And Joas slepte with hise fadris, and was biried in Samarie with the kyngis of Israel; and Jeroboam, his sone, regnede for hym.
Et Joas s'endormit avec ses pères, et fut enseveli à Samarie avec les Rois d'Israël; et Jéroboam son fils régna en sa place.
17 Forsothe Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, lyuede fyue and twenti yeer, after that Joas, sone of Joachaz, kyng of Israel, was deed.
Et Amatsia fils de Joas Roi de Juda vécut quinze ans après la mort de Joas fils de Joachaz Roi d'Israël.
18 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Amasie, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
Le reste des faits d'Amatsia n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois de Juda?
19 And `sweryng togidir in Jerusalem was maad ayens hym, and he fledde in to Lachis; and thei senten aftir hym in to Lachis, and killiden hym there.
r on fit une conspiration contre lui à Jérusalem, et il s'enfuit à Lakis; mais on envoya après lui à Lakis, et on le tua là.
20 And thei baren out hym in horsis, and he was biried in Jerusalem with hise fadris, in the citee of Dauid.
Et on l'apporta sur des chevaux, et il fut enseveli à Jérusalem avec ses pères, dans la Cité de David.
21 Forsothe al the puple of Juda took Azarie, hauynge sixtene yeer; and maden hym king for his fadir Amasie.
Alors tout le peuple de Juda prit Hazaria âgé de seize ans, et ils l'établirent Roi en la place d'Amatsia son père.
22 And he bildide Ahila, and restoride it to Juda, after that `the kyng slepte with hise fadris.
Il bâtit Elath, l'ayant remise en la puissance de Juda, après que le Roi fut endormi avec ses pères.
23 In the fiftenethe yeer of Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, Jeroboam, sone of Joas, kyng of Israel, regnyde in Samarie oon and fourti yeer;
La quinzième année d'Amatsia fils de Joas Roi de Juda, Jéroboam, fils de Joas, commença à régner sur Israël à Samarie, [et il régna] l'espace de quarante et un ans.
24 and dide that, that is yuel bifor the Lord; he yede not awei fro alle the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne.
Et il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, [et] ne se détourna point d'aucun des péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nébat, par lesquels il avait fait pécher Israël.
25 He restoride the termes of Israel, fro the entryng of Emath `til to the see of wildirnesse, bi the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he spak bi his seruaunt Jonas, sone of Amathi, bi Jonas, the prophete, that was of Jeth, `which Jeth is in Ophir.
Il rétablit les bornes d'Israël depuis l'entrée de Hamath, jusqu'à la mer de la campagne, selon la parole de l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël, qu'il avait proférée par le moyen de son serviteur Jonas fils d'Amittaï, Prophète, qui était de Gathhépher.
26 For the Lord siy the ful bittir turment of Israel, and that thei weren wastid `til to the closid men of prisoun, and the laste men, and `noon was that helpide Israel.
Parce que l'Eternel vit que l'affliction d'Israël était fort amère, et qu'il n'y avait ni de ce qui est serré, ni de ce qui est délaissé, et qu'il n'y avait personne qui aidât Israël;
27 And the Lord spak not, that he schulde do awei Israel fro vndur heuene, but he sauyde hem in the hond of Jeroboam, sone of Joas.
Et que l'Eternel n'avait point parlé d'effacer le nom d'Israël de dessous les cieux, à cause de cela il les délivra par les mains de Jéroboam fils de Joas.
28 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Jeroboam, and alle thingis whiche he dide, and the strengthe of hym, bi which he fauyt, and hou he restoride Damask, and Emath of Juda, in Israel, whether these ben not wrytun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel?
Le reste des faits de Jéroboam, tout ce, dis-je, qu'il a fait, et la valeur avec laquelle il combattit, et comment il reconquit Damas et Hamath de Juda en Israël, n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois d'Israël?
29 And Jeroboam slepte with hise fadris, the kyngis of Israel; and Azarie, his sone, regnede for hym.
Puis Jéroboam s'endormit avec ses pères, les Rois d'Israël, et Zacharie son fils régna en sa place.
