2 Kings 10

1 Forsothe seuenti sones in Samarie weren to Achab. Therfor Hieu wroot lettris, and sente in to Samarie to the beste men of the citee, and to the gretter men in birthe, and to alle the nurschis of Achab, and seide,

Și Ahab avea șaptezeci de fii în Samaria. Și Iehu a scris scrisori și le-a trimis în Samaria la conducătorii din Izreel, la bătrâni și la cei ce crescuseră pe copiii lui Ahab, spunând:

2 Anoon as ye han take these lettris, ye that han the sones of youre lord, and the charis, and horsis, and stronge citees, and armeris,

Și imediat ce această scrisoare ajunge la voi, văzând că fiii stăpânului vostru sunt cu voi și aveți cu voi care și cai și o cetate întărită și arme,

3 chese the beste, and hym that plesith to you of the sones of youre lord, and sette ye him on the trone of his fadir, and fiyte ye for the hows of youre lord.

Alegeți pe cel mai bun și mai potrivit dintre fiii stăpânului vostru și puneți-l pe tronul tatălui său și luptați pentru casa stăpânului vostru.

4 And thei dredden greetli, and seiden, Lo! twei kyngis myyten not stonde bifor hym, and how schulen we mowe ayenstonde hym?

Dar ei erau înfricoșați peste măsură și au spus: Iată, doi împărați nu au putut sta înaintea lui, cum atunci vom sta noi?

5 Therfor the souereyns of the hows, and the prefect of the citee, and the grettere men in birthe, and the nurchis senten to Hieu, and seiden, We ben thi seruauntis; what euer thingis thou comaundist, we schulen do, and we schulen not make a kyng to vs; do thou what euer thing plesith thee.

Și cel care era peste casă și cel care era peste cetate, bătrânii de asemenea și cei care i-au crescut pe copii, au trimis la Iehu, spunând: Noi suntem servitorii tăi și vom face orice ne vei porunci; nu vom face pe nimeni împărat; fă ce este bine în ochii tăi.

6 Forsothe he wroot ayen to hem lettris the secunde tyme, and seide, If ye ben myne, and obeien to me, take ye the heedis of the sones of youre lord, and come ye to me in this same our to morewe in to Jezrael. Sotheli the sones of the kyng, seuenti men, weren nurschid at the beste men of the citee.

Și el le-a scris o scrisoare a doua oară, spunând: Dacă voi sunteți pentru mine și dacă veți da ascultare vocii mele, luați capetele oamenilor, ale fiilor stăpânului vostru, și veniți la mine în Izreel până mâine pe timpul acesta. Și fiii împăratului, fiind șaptezeci de persoane, erau cu marii bărbați ai cetății care îi crescuseră.

7 And whanne the lettris hadden come to hem, thei token the sones of the kyng, and killiden seuenti men, and puttiden the heedis of hem in coffyns; and senten to hym in to Jezrael.

Și s-a întâmplat, după ce scrisoarea a venit la ei, că au luat pe fiii împăratului și au ucis șaptezeci de persoane și le-au pus capetele în coșuri și i le-au trimis la Izreel.

8 Forsothe a messanger cam to hym, and schewide to hym, and seide, Thei han brouyt the heedis of the sones of the king. Which answeride, Putte ye tho heedis to tweyne hepis, bisidis the entring of the yate, til the morewtid.

Și a venit un mesager și i-a spus, zicând: Au adus capetele fiilor împăratului. Iar el a spus: Puneți-le în două grămezi la intrarea porții până dimineață.

9 And whanne it was cleer dai, he yede out, and stood, and seide to al the puple, Ye ben iust men; if Y conspiride ayens my lord, and killide hym, who killide alle these?

Și s-a întâmplat dimineața, că el a ieșit și a stat în picioare și a spus întregului popor: Voi sunteți drepți; iată, eu am uneltit împotriva stăpânului meu și l-am ucis; dar cine i-a ucis pe toți aceștia?

10 Therfor se ye now, that noon of the wordis of the Lord felde doun in to the erthe, whiche the Lord spak on the hows of Achab; and the Lord hath do that, that he spak in the hond of his seruaunt, Elie.

Să știți acum că nu va cădea la pământ nimic din cuvântul DOMNULUI, pe care DOMNUL l-a vorbit referitor la casa lui Ahab, pentru că DOMNUL a făcut ceea ce a vorbit prin servitorul său Ilie.

11 Therfor Hieu smoot alle that weren residue of the hows of Achab in Jezrael, and alle the beste men of hym, and knowun men, and preestis, til no relikis of hym leften.

Astfel Iehu a ucis pe toți câți rămăseseră din casa lui Ahab în Izreel și pe toți marii bărbați ai lui și pe rudele lui și pe preoții lui, până când nu i-a lăsat nicio rămășiță.

12 And he roos, and cam in to Samarie; and whanne he hadde come to the chaumbir of schepherdis in the weie,

Și el s-a ridicat și a plecat și a venit la Samaria. Și pe drum, la tunzătoarea oilor,

13 he foond the britheren of Ocozie, kyng of Juda; and he seide to hem, Who ben ye? And thei answeriden, We ben the britheren of Ocozie, and we comen doun to grete the sones of the kyng and the sones of the queen.

Iehu s-a întâlnit cu frații lui Ahazia, împăratul lui Iuda, și a spus: Cine sunteți voi? Iar ei au răspuns: Noi suntem frații lui Ahazia; și coborâm să salutăm pe copiii împăratului și pe copiii împărătesei.

14 Which Hieu seide, Take ye hem quyke. And whanne thei hadden take hem quyke, thei strangliden hem in the cisterne, bisidis the chaumbre, two and fourti men; and he lefte not ony of hem.

Și el a spus: Prindeți-i vii. Și i-au prins vii și i-au ucis la groapa tunzătorii oilor, patruzeci și doi de oameni; nu au lăsat pe niciunul dintre ei.

15 And whanne he hadde go fro thennus, he foond Jonadab, the sone of Rechab, in to meetyng of hym; and he blesside hym. And Hieu seide to hym, Whether thin herte is riytful with myn herte, as myn herte is with thin herte? And Jonadab seide, It is. Hieu seide, If `it is, yyue thin hond. Which yaf his hond to hym; and he reiside hym to hym silf in to the chare.

Și după ce a plecat de acolo, a găsit pe Ionadab, fiul lui Recab, venind să îl întâlnească; și l-a salutat și i-a spus: Este inima ta dreaptă, precum inima mea este cu inima ta? Și Ionadab a răspuns: Este. Dacă este, dă-mi mâna ta. Și i-a dat mâna; și l-a luat la el în car.

16 And he seide to hym, Come thou with me, and se my feruent loue for the Lord.

Și el a spus: Vino cu mine și vei vedea zelul meu pentru DOMNUL. Astfel ei l-au făcut să meargă în carul său.

17 And he ledde hym, put in hys chare, in to Samarie. And he killide alle men that weren residue of Achab in Samarie `til to oon, bi the word of the Lord, which he spak bi Elie.

Și după ce a venit la Samaria, a ucis pe toți cei rămași lui Ahab în Samaria, până l-a nimicit, conform spusei DOMNULUI, pe care o vorbise lui Ilie.

18 Therfor Hieu gaderide to gidere alle the puple, and seide to hem, Achab worschipide Baal a litil, but Y schal worschipe hym more.

Și Iehu a adunat tot poporul și le-a zis: Ahab a servit puțin lui Baal; dar Iehu îi va servi mult.

19 Now therfor clepe ye to me alle the prophetis of Baal, and alle hise seruauntis, and alle hise preestis; `noon be that come not, for grete sacrifice is of me to Baal; who euer schal faile, he schal not lyue. Forsothe Hieu dide this bi tresoun, that he schulde distrie alle the worschipers of Baal.

Și acum, chemați-mi pe toți profeții lui Baal, pe toți servitorii lui și pe toți preoții lui; să nu lipsească nimeni, pentru că am un mare sacrificiu de făcut lui Baal; oricine va lipsi nu va mai trăi. Dar Iehu a făcut aceasta cu viclenie, pentru a-i nimici pe închinătorii lui Baal.

20 And he seide, Halewe ye a solempne day to Baal.

Și Iehu a spus: Proclamați o adunare solemnă pentru Baal. Și ei au proclamat-o.

21 And he clepide, and sente in to alle the termes of Israel; and alle the seruauntis of Baal camen, `noon was residue, and sotheli `not oon was that cam not. And thei entriden in to the temple of Baal; and the hows of Baal was fillid, fro oon ende `til to `the tothir.

Și Iehu a trimis în tot Israelul; și toți închinătorii lui Baal au venit, astfel încât nu a rămas niciun om care să nu fi venit. Și au intrat în casa lui Baal; și casa lui Baal era plină de la un capăt până la altul.

22 And he seide to hem that weren souereyns ouer the clothis, Bringe ye forth clothis to alle the seruauntis of Baal; and thei brouyten forth clothis to hem.

Și el a spus celui care era peste veștminte: Adu veștminte pentru toți închinătorii lui Baal. Iar el le-a adus veștminte.

23 And Hieu entride, and Jonadab, the sone of Rechab, in to the temple of Baal. And Hieu seide to the worschiperis of Baal, Enquere ye, and se, lest perauenture ony of the seruauntis of the Lord be with you; but that the seruauntis be aloone of Baal.

Și Iehu și Ionadab, fiul lui Recab, au intrat în casa lui Baal, și Iehu a spus închinătorilor lui Baal: Cercetați și vedeți să nu fie aici cu voi niciunul dintre servitorii DOMNULUI, ci numai închinătorii lui Baal.

24 Therfor thei entriden, to make slayn sacrifices, and brent sacrifices. Sotheli Hieu hadde maad redi to hym with outforth foure scoore men, and hadde seid to hem, Who euer schal fle of alle these, whiche Y schal brynge in to youre hondis, the lijf of hym schal be for the lijf of hym that ascapith.

Și după ce au intrat să ofere sacrificii și ofrande arse, Iehu a rânduit afară optzeci de oameni și a spus: Cine lasă pe vreunul dintre oamenii pe care i-am adus în mâinile voastre să scape, viața sa va fi pentru viața lui.

25 Forsothe it was don, whanne the brent sacrifice was fillid, Hieu comaundide to hise knyytis and duykis, Entre ye, and sle hem, that noon ascape. And the knyytis and duykis smytiden `hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd, and castiden forth. And `thei yeden into the citee of the temple of Baal,

Și s-a întâmplat, cum au terminat de oferit ofranda arsă, că Iehu a spus gardei și căpeteniilor: Intrați și ucideți-i, să nu iasă nimeni. Și ei i-au lovit cu ascuțișul sabiei; și garda și căpeteniile i-au aruncat afară și au mers la cetatea casei lui Baal.

26 and thei brouyten forth the ymage fro the temple of Baal,

Și au scos chipurile din casa lui Baal și le-au ars.

27 and brenten it, and al to braken it. Also thei destrieden the hows of Baal, and maden priuyes for it `til in to this dai.

Și au dărâmat chipul lui Baal și au dărâmat casa lui Baal și au făcut-o casă de hazna până în această zi.

28 Therfor Hieu dide awei Baal fro Israel;

Astfel Iehu a nimicit pe Baal din Israel.

29 netheles he yede not awei fro the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne, nether he forsook the goldun caluys, that weren in Bethel and in Dan.

Totuși Iehu nu s-a depărtat de păcatele lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat, care a făcut pe Israel să păcătuiască: de la vițeii de aur care erau în Betel și care erau în Dan.

30 Forsothe the Lord seide to Hieu, For thou didist bisili that that was riytful, and pleside in myn yyen, and hast do ayens the hows of Achab alle thingis that weren in myn herte, thi sones `til to the fourthe generacioun schulen sitte on the trone of Israel.

Și DOMNUL i-a spus lui Iehu: Pentru că ai împlinit bine ceea ce este drept în ochii mei și ai făcut casei lui Ahab conform cu tot ce era în inima mea, copiii tăi până la a patra generație vor ședea pe tronul lui Israel.

31 Forsothe Hieu kepte not, that he yede in the lawe of the Lord God of Israel in al his herte; for he yede not awei fro the synnes of Jeroboam, that made Israel to do synne.

Dar Iehu nu a fost atent să umble în legea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul lui Israel cu toată inima sa, fiindcă nu s-a depărtat de păcatele lui Ieroboam, care a făcut pe Israel să păcătuiască.

32 In tho daies the Lord bigan to be anoyed on Israel; and Asahel smoot hem in alle the coostis of Israel,

În acele zile, DOMNUL a început să scurteze din Israel; și Hazael i-a lovit în toate ținuturile lui Israel;

33 fro Jordan ayens the eest coost, al the lond of Galaad, and of Gad, and of Ruben, and of Manasses, fro Aroer which is on the stronde of Arnon, and Galaad, and Baasan.

De la Iordan spre est, toată țara Galaadului, pe gadiți și pe rubeniți și pe manasiți, de la Aroer, care este lângă râul Arnon, și Galaadul și Basanul.

34 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Hieu, and alle thingis whiche he dide, and his strengthe, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel?

Și restul faptelor lui Iehu și tot ce a făcut și toată puterea lui, nu sunt ele scrise în cartea cronicilor împăraților lui Israel?

35 And Hieu slepte with hise fadris; and thei birieden hym in Samarie; and Joachaz, his sone, regnyde for hym.

Și Iehu a adormit cu părinții săi și l-au îngropat în Samaria. Și Ioahaz, fiul său, a domnit în locul său.

36 Forsothe the daies, in whiche Hieu regnede on Israel in Samarie, ben eiyte and twenti yeer.

Și timpul cât a domnit Iehu peste Israel în Samaria a fost douăzeci și opt de ani.
