2 Chronicles 36
1 Therfor the puple of the lond took Joachaz, the sone of Josie, and ordeynede hym kyng for his fadir in Jerusalem.
Alors le peuple du pays prit Jéhoachaz fils de Josias, et on l'établit Roi à Jérusalem en la place de son père.
2 Joachaz was of thre and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede thre monethis in Jerusalem.
Jéhoachaz était âgé de vingt et trois ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem.
3 Sotheli the kyng of Egipt, `whan he hadde come to Jerusalem, remouyde hym, and condempnede the lond in an hundrid talentis of siluer and in a talent of gold.
Et le Roi d'Egypte le déposa à Jérusalem, et condamna le pays à une amende de cent talents d'argent, et d'un talent d'or.
4 And he ordeynede for hym Eliachim, his brother, kyng on Juda and Jerusalem; and turnede his name Joakym. Sotheli he took thilk Joachaz with hym silf, and brouyte in to Egipt.
Et le Roi d'Egypte établit pour Roi sur Juda et sur Jérusalem Eliakim frère de [Joachaz], et lui changea son nom, [l'appelant] Jéhojakim; puis Nécò prit Jéhoachaz, frère de Jéhojakim, et l'emmena en Egypte.
5 Joakym was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde eleuene yeer in Jerusalem, and he dide yuel bifor `his Lord God.
Jéhojakim était âgé de vingt-cinq ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem, et fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel son Dieu.
6 Nabugodonosor, kyng of Caldeis, styede ayens this Joakym, and ledde hym boundun with chaynes in to Babiloyne.
Nébucadnetsar Roi de Babylone monta contre lui, et le lia de doubles chaînes d'airain pour le mener à Babylone.
7 To which Babiloyne he translatide also the vessels of the Lord, and settide tho in his temple.
Nébucadnetsar emporta aussi à Babylone des vaisseaux de la maison de l'Eternel, et les mit dans son Temple à Babylone.
8 Sotheli the residue of wordis of Joakym, and of hise abhomynaciouns whiche he wrouyte, and that weren foundun in hym, ben conteyned in the book of kyngis of Israel and of Juda. Therfor Joachym, his sone, regnede for hym.
Or le reste des faits de Jéhojakim, et ses abominations, lesquelles il fit, et ce qui fut trouvé en lui, voilà ces choses sont écrites au Livre des Rois d'Israël et de Juda, et Jéhojachin son fils régna en sa place.
9 Joachym was of eiyte yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede thre monethis and ten daies in Jerusalem, and he dide yuel in the siyt of the Lord.
Jéhojachin était âgé de huit ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna trois mois et dix jours à Jérusalem, et il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel.
10 And whanne the cercle of the yeer was turned aboute, Nabugodonosor the kynge sente men, whiche also brouyten hym in to Babiloyne, whanne the moost preciouse vessels of the hows of the Lord weren borun out togidir. Sotheli he ordeynede Sedechie, his fadris brother, kyng on Juda and Jerusalem.
Et l'année suivante le Roi Nébucadnetsar envoya, et le fit emmener à Babylone avec les vaisseaux précieux de la maison de l'Eternel, et établit pour Roi sur Juda et sur Jérusalem Sédécias son frère.
11 Sedechie was of oon and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede eleuene yeer in Jerusalem.
Sédécias était âgé de vingt et un ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem.
12 And he dide yuel in the siyt of `his Lord God, and he was not aschamed of the face of Jeremye, the prophete, spekynge to hym bi the mouth of the Lord.
Il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel son Dieu, et ne s'humilia point pour [tout ce que lui disait] Jérémie le Prophète, qui lui parlait de la part de l'Eternel.
13 Also he yede awey fro the kyng Nabugodonosor, that hadde made hym to swere bi God; and he made hard his nol and herte, that he nolde turne ayen to the Lord of Israel.
Et même il se rebella contre le Roi Nébucadnetsar, qui l'avait fait jurer par [le Nom de] Dieu; et il roidit son cou, et obstina son cœur pour ne retourner point à l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël.
14 But also alle the princes of preestis and the puple trespassiden wickidli, bi alle abhomynaciouns of hethene men; and thei defouliden the hows of the Lord, which he halewide to hym silf in Jerusalem.
Pareillement tous les principaux des Sacrificateurs, et le peuple, continuèrent de plus en plus à pécher grièvement, selon toutes les abominations des nations; et souillèrent la maison que l'Eternel avait sanctifiée dans Jérusalem.
15 Forsothe the Lord God of her fadris sente to hem bi the hond of hise messangeris, and roos bi nyyt, and amonestide ech day; for he sparide his puple and dwellyng place.
Or l'Eternel le Dieu de leurs pères les avait sommés par ses messagers, qu'il avait envoyés en toute diligence, parce qu'il était touché de compassion envers son peuple, et envers sa demeure.
16 And thei scorneden the messangeris of God, and dispisiden hise wordis, and scorneden hise prophetis; til the greet veniaunce of the Lord stiede on his puple, and noon heelyng were.
Mais ils se moquaient des messagers de Dieu, ils méprisaient ses paroles, et ils traitaient ses Prophètes de Séducteurs, jusqu'à ce que la fureur de l'Eternel s'alluma tellement contre son peuple, qu'il n'y eut plus de remède.
17 And he brouyte on hem the kyng of Caldeis; and killide the yonge men of hem `bi swerd in the hows of seyntuarie; `he hadde not merci of a yong `man, and of a vergyn, and of an eld man, and sotheli nether of a man niy the deth for eldnesse, but he bitook alle in the hond of that king of Caldeis.
C'est pourquoi il fit venir contre eux le Roi des Caldéens, qui tua leurs jeunes gens avec l'épée dans la maison de leur Sanctuaire, et il ne fut point touché de compassion envers les jeunes hommes, ni envers les filles, ni envers les vieillards et décrépits; il les livra tous entre ses mains.
18 And he translatide in to Babiloyne alle the vessels of the hows of the Lord, bothe the grettere and the lasse vessels, and the tresours of the temple, and of the kyng, and of the princes.
Et il fit apporter à Babylone tous les vaisseaux de la maison de Dieu, grands et petits, et les trésors de la maison de l'Eternel, et les trésors du Roi, et ceux de ses principaux [officiers].
19 Enemyes brenten the hows of the Lord; thei distrieden the wal of Jerusalem; thei brenten alle the touris; and thei distrieden what euer thing was preciouse.
On brûla aussi la maison de Dieu, on démolit les murailles de Jérusalem; et on mit en feu tous ses palais, et on ruina tout ce qu'il y avait d'exquis.
20 If ony man ascapide the swerd, he was led in to Babiloyne, and seruyde the kyng and hise sones; til the kyng of Peersis regnyde,
Puis [le roi de Babylone] transporta à Babylone tous ceux qui étaient échappés de l'épée; et ils lui furent esclaves, à lui et à ses fils, jusqu' au temps de la Monarchie des Perses.
21 and the word of the Lord bi the mouth of Jeremye was fillid, and til the lond halewide hise sabatis. For in alle the daies of desolacioun it made sabat, til that seuenti yeer weren fillid.
Afin que la parole de l'Eternel, prononcée par Jérémie, fût accomplie, jusqu'à ce que la terre eût pris plaisir à ses Sabbats et durant tous les jours qu'elle demeura désolée, elle se reposa, pour accomplir les soixante-dix années.
22 Forsothe in the firste yeer of Cyrus, kyng of Persis, to fille the word of the Lord, which he hadde spoke bi the mouth of Jeremye, the Lord reiside the spirit of Cirus, king of Persis, that comaundide to be prechid in al his rewme, yhe, bi scripture, and seide, Cirus,
Or la première année de Cyrus Roi de Perse, afin que la parole de l'Eternel prononcée par Jérémie fût accomplie, l'Eternel excita l'esprit de Cyrus Roi de Perse, qui fit publier dans tout son Royaume, et même par Lettres, en disant:
23 the king of Persis, seith these thingis, The Lord God of heuene yaf to me alle the rewmes of erthe, and he comaundide to me, that Y schulde bilde to hym an hows in Jerusalem, which is in Judee. Who of you is in al his puple? `his Lord God be with hym, and stie he `in to Jerusalem.
Ainsi a dit Cyrus, Roi de Perse: L'Eternel, le Dieu des cieux, m'a donné tous les Royaumes de la terre, lui-même m'a ordonné de lui bâtir une maison à Jérusalem, en Judée. Qui est-ce d'entre vous de tout son peuple [qui s'y veuille employer?] L'Eternel son Dieu soit avec lui, et qu'il monte.
