2 Chronicles 35
1 Forsothe Josie made pask to the Lord in Jerusalem, that was offrid in the fourtenthe dai of the firste monethe;
Josias célébra à Jérusalem la Pâque en l’honneur de Yahweh, et on immola la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois.
2 and he ordeynede prestis in her offices; and he comaundide hem for to mynystre in the hows of the Lord.
Il établit les prêtres dans leurs fonctions, et il les encouragea à faire le service dans la maison de Yahweh.
3 And he spak to the dekenes, at whos techyng al Israel was halewid to the Lord, Sette ye the arke in the seyntuarie of the temple, which Salomon, kyng of Israel, the sone of Dauid, bildide; for ye schulen no more bere it. But now serue `youre Lord God and his puple Israel,
Il dit aux lévites qui enseignaient tout Israël et qui étaient consacrés à Yahweh: « Placez l’arche sainte dans la maison qu’a bâtie Salomon, fils de David, roi d’Israël; vous n’avez plus à la porter sur l’épaule. Servez maintenant Yahweh, votre Dieu, et son peuple d’Israël.
4 and make you redi bi youre housis and meynees in the departyngis of ech bi hym silf, as Dauid, king of Israel, comaundide, and Salomon, his sone, discryuede;
Tenez-vous prêts, selon vos familles, dans vos classes, selon le règlement de David, roi d’Israël, et selon le dispositif de Salomon, son fils.
5 and serue ye in the seyntuarie bi the meynees and cumpenyes of dekenes,
Tenez-vous dans le sanctuaire, selon les divisions des familles de vos frères, les fils du peuple, — pour chaque division une classe de la famille des lévites.
6 and be ye halewid, and offre ye pask; also `make redi youre britheren, that thei moun `do bi the wordis, whiche the Lord spak in the hond of Moyses.
Immolez la Pâque, sanctifiez-vous et préparez- la pour vos frères, pour qu’on se conforme à la parole de Yahweh, qu’il a dite par l’organe de Moïse. »
7 Ferthermore Josie yaf to al the puple, that was foundun there in the solempnytee of pask, lambren, and kidis of the flockis, and of residue scheep `he yaf thritti thousynde, and of oxis thre thousynde; these thingis of al the catel of the kyng.
Josias donna aux gens du peuple du petit bétail, agneaux et chevreaux, au nombre de trente mille, le tout en vue de la Pâque, pour tous ceux qui se trouvaient là, et trois mille bœufs, le tout pris sur les biens du roi.
8 And hise duykis offriden tho thingis whiche thei avowiden bi fre wille, as wel to the puple as to prestis and dekenes. Forsothe Elchie, and Zacharie, and Jehiel, princes of the hows of the Lord, yauen to preestis, to make pask in comyn, two thousynde and sixe hundrid scheep, and thre hundrid oxis.
Ses chefs firent spontanément un présent au peuple, aux prêtres et aux lévites: Helcias, Zacharias et Jahiel, princes de la maison de Dieu, donnèrent aux prêtres pour la Pâque deux mille six cents agneaux et trois cents bœufs;
9 Forsothe Chononye, and Semei, and Nathanael and hise britheren, also Asabie, Jahiel, and Josabaz, princis of dekenes, yauen to othere dekenes, to make pask, fyue thousynde of scheep, and fyue hundrid oxis.
Chonénias, Séméïas et Nathanaël, ses frères, Hasabias, Jéhiel et Jozabad, princes des lévites, donnèrent aux lévites pour la Pâque cinq mille agneaux et cinq cents bœufs.
10 And the seruyce was maad redi; and preestis stoden in her office, and dekenes in cumpenyes, bi comaundement of the kyng; and pask was offrid.
Ainsi le service fut organisé: les prêtres se tinrent à leurs postes, ainsi que les lévites, selon leurs divisions, conformément à l’ordre du roi.
11 And preestis spreynten her hondis with blood, and dekenes drowen of the skynnes of sacrifices, and departiden tho sacrificis,
Les lévites immolèrent la Pâque, et les prêtres répandaient le sang qu’ils recevaient de leur main, tandis que les lévites dépouillaient les victimes.
12 for to yyue bi the housis and meyneis of alle men; and that tho schulden be offrid to the Lord, as it is writun in the book of Moises; and of oxis thei diden in lijk maner.
Ils mirent à part les morceaux destinés à l’holocauste, pour les donner aux divisions des familles des gens du peuple, afin qu’ils les offrissent à Yahweh, comme il est écrit dans le livre de Moïse; et de même pour les bœufs.
13 And thei rostiden pask on the fier, bi that that is writun in the lawe. Sotheli thei sethiden pesible sacrifices in pannes, and cawdruns, and pottis, and in haste thei deliden to al the puple;
Ils firent rôtir au feu la Pâque, selon le règlement, et ils firent cuire les saintes offrandes dans des pots, des chaudrons et des poêles, et ils s’empressèrent de les distribuer à tous les gens du peuple.
14 but thei maden redi aftirward to hem silf, and to prestis; for preestis weren occupied `til to nyyt in the offryng of brent sacrifices and of ynnere fatnessis. Wherfor dekenes maden redi to hem silf and to preestis, the sones of Aaron, `the laste.
Ensuite ils préparèrent la Pâque pour eux et pour les prêtres; car les prêtres, fils d’Aaron, furent occupés, jusqu’à la nuit, à offrir l’holocauste et les graisses: c’est pourquoi les lévites la préparèrent pour eux et pour les prêtres, fils d’Aaron.
15 Forsothe syngeris, the sones of Asaph, stoden in her ordre, bi the comaundement of Dauid, and of Asaph, and of Eman, and of Yditum, the profetis of the kyng; but the porteris kepten bi ech yate, so that thei yeden not awei fro the seruice, sotheli in a poynt; wherfor and dekenes, her britheren, maden redi metis to hem.
Les chantres, fils d’Asaph, étaient à leur place, selon l’ordre de David, d’Asaph, d’Héman et d’Idithun, le voyant du roi, et les portiers étaient à chaque porte; ils n’avaient pas à se détourner de leur office, car leurs frères, les lévites, préparaient pour eux la Pâque.
16 Therfor al the religioun of the Lord was fillid riytfuli in that day, that thei maden pask, and offriden brent sacrifices on the auter of the Lord, bi the comaundement of kyng Josie.
Ainsi fut organisé tout le service de Yahweh, en ce jour-là, pour célébrer la Pâque et offrir des holocaustes sur l’autel de Yahweh, conformément à l’ordre du roi Josias.
17 And the sones of Israel, that weren foundun there, maden pask in that tyme, and the solempnite of therf looues seuene daies.
Les enfants d’Israël qui se trouvaient là célébrèrent la Pâque en ce temps, et la fête des Azymes pendant sept jours.
18 No pask was lijk this in Israel, fro the daies of Samuel, the prophete; but nethir ony of the kyngis of Israel made pask as Josie dide, to preestis and dekenes, and to al Juda and Israel, that was foundun, and to the dwelleris of Jerusalem.
Aucune Pâque pareille à celle-ci n’avait été célébrée en Israël depuis les jours de Samuel le prophète, et aucun des rois d’Israël n’avait fait une Pâque pareille à celle que célébrèrent Josias, les prêtres et les lévites, tout Juda et tout Israël qui se trouvaient là, et les habitants de Jérusalem.
19 This pask was halewid in the eiytenthe yeer of `the rewme of Josie.
Ce fut la dix-huitième année du règne de Josias que cette Pâque fut célébrée.
20 Aftir that Josie hadde reparelid the temple, Nechao, the kyng of Egipt, stiede to fiyte in Carcamys bisidis Eufrates; and Josie yede forth in to his metyng.
Après tout cela, lorsque Josias eut réparé la maison de Yahweh, Néchao, roi d’Égypte, monta pour combattre à Charcamis, sur l’Euphrate; et Josias sortit à sa rencontre.
21 And he seide bi messangeris sent to hym, Kyng of Juda, what is to me and to thee? Y come not ayens thee to dai, but Y fiyte ayens another hows, to which God bad me go in haste; ceesse thou to do ayens God, which is with me, lest he sle thee.
Et Néchao lui envoya des messagers pour dire: « Que me veux-tu, roi de Juda? Ce n’est pas contre toi que je viens aujourd’hui; mais c’est contre une maison avec laquelle je suis en guerre, et Dieu m’ a dit de me hâter. Cesse de t’opposer à Dieu, qui est avec moi, et qu’il ne te fasse pas mourir! »
22 Josie nolde turne ayen, but made redi batel ayens hym; and he assentide not to the wordis of Nechao, bi Goddis mouth, but he yede for to fiyte in the feeld of Magedo.
Mais Josias ne se détourna pas de lui et se déguisa pour l’attaquer; il n’écouta pas les paroles de Néchao, qui venaient de la bouche de Dieu; il s’avança pour combattre dans la plaine de Mageddo.
23 And there he was woundide of archeris, and seide to hise children, `Lede ye me out of the batel, for Y am woundid greetli.
Les archers tirèrent sur le roi Josias, et le roi dit à ses serviteurs: « Transportez-moi, car je suis gravement blessé. »
24 Whiche baren hym ouer fro the chare in to an other chare, that suede hym, bi custom of the kyng, and `baren out hym in to Jerusalem; and he diede, and was biried in the sepulcre of hise fadris. And al Juda and Jerusalem biweiliden hym,
Ses serviteurs le transportèrent du char, et le placèrent dans l’autre char qui était à lui, et l’emmenèrent à Jérusalem. Il mourut, et fut enterré dans les sépulcres de ses pères. Tout Juda et Jérusalem pleurèrent Josias.
25 Jeremye moost, of whom alle syngeris and syngeressis `til in to present dai rehersen `lamentaciouns, ether weilyngis, on Josie; and it cam forth as a lawe in Israel, Lo! it is seid writun in Lamentaciouns.
Jérémie composa une lamentation sur Josias; tous les chanteurs et toutes les chanteuses ont parlé de Josias dans leurs lamentations, jusqu’à ce jour; on en a fait une coutume en Israël. Et voici que ces chants sont écrits dans les Lamentations.
26 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Josie, and of hise mercies, that ben comaundid in the lawe of the Lord,
Le reste des actes de Josias, et ses œuvres pieuses conformes à ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Yahweh,
27 and hise werkis, `the firste and the laste, ben wryten in the book of kyngis of Israel and of Juda.
ses actes, les premiers et les derniers, voici que cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d’Israël et de Juda.
