< 2 Chronicles 16 >
1 Forsothe in the sixe and thrittithe yeer of his rewme Baasa, the kyng of Israel, stiede in to Juda, and cumpasside Rama with a wal, that no man of the rewme of Asa myyte go out ether entre sikirli.
ʻI he taʻu ʻe tolungofulu ma ono ʻoe pule ʻa ʻAsa, naʻe haʻu ʻa Paʻasa ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli ke tauʻi ʻa Siuta, pea langa ʻe ia ʻa Lama, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa ʻalu kituaʻā ha niʻihi pe haʻu ki loto kia ʻAsa ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta.
2 Sotheli Asa brouyte forth gold and siluer fro the tresours of the hows of the Lord, and fro the kyngis tresouris; and sente to Benadab, kyng of Sirie, that dwellide in Damask,
Pea naʻe ʻomi kituʻa ʻe ʻAsa ʻae siliva mo e koula mei he ngaahi fale koloa ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova, pea mei he fale ʻoe tuʻi, pea ne ʻave ia kia Peni-Hatati ko e tuʻi ʻo Silia ʻaia naʻe nofo ʻi Tamasikusi, ʻo pehē,
3 and seide, Boond of pees is bitwixe me and thee, and my fadir and thi fadir hadden acordyng; wherfor Y sente to thee siluer and gold, that whanne thou hast broke the boond of pees, which thou hast with Baasa, king of Israel, thou make hym to go awei fro me.
“ʻOku ai ʻae lea ʻiate au mo koe, ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe ʻi heʻeku tamai mo hoʻo tamai: vakai ʻoku ou ʻatu ni ʻae siliva mo e koula: ke ke ʻalu, pea maumauʻi hoʻo alea papau mo Paʻasa ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli, koeʻuhi ke ʻalu ia ʻiate au.”
4 And whanne this was foundun, Benadab sente princes of hise oostis to the citees of Israel, whiche smytiden Ahion, and Dan, and Abelmaym, and alle the wallid citees of Neptalym.
Pea naʻe tokanga ʻa Peni-Hatati ki he tuʻi ko ʻAsa, pea ne fekau ʻae ngaahi ʻeiki pule ʻo ʻene ngaahi tau ke tauʻi ʻae ngaahi kolo ʻo ʻIsileli: pea naʻa nau teʻia ʻa Isoni, mo Tani, mo ʻEpelimeimi, mo e ngaahi kolo tukunga koloa kotoa pē ʻo Nafitali.
5 And whanne Baasa hadde herd this, he ceesside to bilde Rama, and left his werk.
Pea ʻi he fanongo ki ai ʻe Paʻasa, naʻa ne tuku ʻene langa ʻa Lama, pea tuku liʻaki pe ʻene ngāue.
6 Forsothe kyng Asa took al Juda, and thei token fro Rama the stonys and trees, whiche Baasa hadde maad redi to bildyng; and he bildide of tho Gabaa, and Maspha.
Pea naʻe ʻave ʻe ʻAsa ko e tuʻi ʻa Siuta kotoa pē mo ia: pea naʻa nau fetuku ʻo ʻave ʻae ngaahi maka kotoa pē ʻo Lama, pea mo e ngaahi ʻakau ʻi ai, ʻaia naʻe langa ʻaki ʻe Paʻasa: pea naʻa ne langa ʻaki ʻe ia ʻa Kepa mo Misipa.
7 In that tyme Anany, the profete, cam to Asa, kyng of Juda, and seide to hym, For thou haddist trist in the kyng of Sirie, and not in `thi Lord God, herfor the oost of `the kyng of Sirie aschapide fro thin hond.
Pea ʻi he kuonga ko ia naʻe haʻu ai ʻa Hanani, ko e tangata kikite kia ʻAsa ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, ʻo ne pehē kiate ia, “Ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo falala ki he tuʻi ʻo Silia, pea naʻe ʻikai te ke falala kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ko ia kuo hao ʻo hola ʻae tau ʻae tuʻi ʻo Silia mei ho nima.
8 Whether `Ethiopiens and Libiens weren not many mo in charis, and knyytis, and ful greet multitude; whiche whanne thou haddist bileuyd to the Lord, he bitook in to thin hondis?
ʻIkai ko e fuʻu tau lahi ʻae kakai ʻItiopea mo e kakai Lupimi, mo e ngaahi saliote lahi mo e kau tangata heka hoosi? Ka ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo falala kia Sihova, naʻa ne tuku mai ʻakinautolu ki ho nima.
9 For the iyen of the Lord biholden al the erthe, and yyuen strengthe to hem, that with perfit herte bileuen in to hym. Therfor thou hast do folili, and for this, yhe, in present tyme batels schulen rise ayens thee.
He ʻoku lele fetoutou mo liliu ʻaki ʻae fofonga ʻo Sihova ʻi māmani kotoa pē, ke fakahā mālohi ʻa ʻene ʻafio ke kau mo kinautolu ʻoku tokanga totonu honau loto kiate ia. ʻI he meʻa ni kuo ke fai fakavalevale: pea mei he kuonga ko eni te ke moʻua koe ʻi he ngaahi tau.”
10 And Asa was wrooth ayens the prophete, and comaundide hym to be sent in to stockis. Forsothe the Lord hadde indignacioun greetli on this thing, and killide ful many of the puple in that tyme.
Pea naʻe ʻita lahi ʻa ʻAsa ki he tangata kikite, pea ne tuku ia ki he fale fakapōpula: he naʻe lili ia kiate ia koeʻuhi ko e meʻa ni. Pea naʻe pule kakaha ʻa ʻAsa ki he kakai niʻihi ʻi he kuonga ko ia.
11 Sotheli the firste and the laste werkis of Asa ben writun in the book of kyngis of Juda and of Israel.
Pea vakai, ko e ngaahi ngāue ʻa ʻAsa, ko e muʻaki mo e kimui, vakai, kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta mo ʻIsileli.
12 Forsothe Asa was sijk ful gretli in the akynge of feet, in the nyne and thrittithe yeer of his rewme; and nether in his sikenesse he souyte the Lord, but tristide more in the craft of lechis.
Pea naʻe mahaki ʻa ʻAsa ʻi hono vaʻe, ʻi hono tolungofulu ma hiva taʻu ʻo ʻene pule, pea naʻe tupu ʻo lahi ʻaupito ʻene mahaki: ka ʻi heʻene mahaki naʻe ʻikai kumi ia kia Sihova, ka ki he kau faitoʻo.
13 And Asa slepte with hise fadris, and he was deed in the oon and fourtithe yeer of his rewme.
Pea naʻe mohe ʻa ʻAsa mo ʻene ngaahi tamai, pea pekia ia ʻi hono fāngofulu ma taha taʻu ʻo ʻene pule.
14 And thei birieden him in his sepulcre, which he hadde maad to hym silf in the cytee of Dauid; and thei puttiden hym on his bed ful of swete smellynge spices and oynementis of hooris, that weren `maad togidere bi the craft of oynement makeris, and thei brenten on hym with ful greet cost.
Pea naʻa nau fai hono putu ki hono fonualoto ʻoʻona, ʻaia naʻa ne ngaohi moʻona ʻi he Kolo ʻo Tevita, pea naʻe tuku ia ki he mohenga naʻe fakafonu ʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa namu kakala kehekehe naʻe teuʻi ʻe he kakai naʻe poto ʻi he ngāue ko ia: pea naʻa nau fai ʻae tutu lahi ʻaupito maʻana.
