2 Chronicles 15
1 Forsothe Azarie, the sone of Obeth, whanne the spirit of the Lord was comyn in to hym,
Or Azarias, fils d’Oded, l’esprit de Dieu étant venu en lui,
2 yede out in to the metyng of Asa; and seide to hym, Asa and al Juda and Beniamyn, here ye me; the Lord is with you, for ye weren with hym; if ye seken hym, ye schulen fynde hym; sotheli if ye forsaken hym, he schal forsake you.
Sortit à la rencontre d’Asa, et lui dit: Ecoutez-moi, Asa, et vous, Juda et Benjamin. Le Seigneur a été avec vous, parce que vous avez été avec lui. Si vous le cherchez, vous le trouverez, mais si vous l’abandonnez, il vous abandonnera.
3 Forsothe many daies schulen passe in Israel with outen veri God, and without preest, and without techere, and without lawe.
Il se passera un grand nombre de jours en Israël, sans vrai Dieu, sans prêtre enseignant et sans loi.
4 And whanne thei turnen ayen in her angwisch, and crien to the Lord God of Israel, and seken hym, thei schulen fynde hym.
Et lorsque dans leur angoisse ils reviendront au Seigneur Dieu d’Israël, et qu’ils le chercheront, ils le trouveront.
5 In that tyme schal not be pees to go out and to go in, but dredis on al side on alle the dwelleris of londis.
En ce temps-là, il n’y aura point de paix pour l’entrant et le sortant, mais des terreurs de toutes parts sur tous les habitants de la terre;
6 For a folk schal fiyte ayens folk, and a citee ayens a citee, for the Lord schal disturble hem in al anguysch;
Car une nation combattra contre une nation, et une ville contre une ville, parce que le Seigneur les troublera de toutes sortes d’angoisses.
7 but be ye coumfortid, and youre hondis be not slakid; for mede schal be to youre werk.
Vous donc, fortifiez-vous, et que vos mains ne s’affaiblissent point; car il y aura une récompense pour votre œuvre.
8 And whanne Asa hadde herd this thing, that is, the wordis and profesye of Asarie, the sone of Obed, the profete, he was coumfortid, and he dide a wei alle the idols fro al the lond of Juda and of Beniamyn, and fro the citees whiche he hadde take of the hil of Effraym. And he halewide the auter of the Lord, that was bifor the porche of the hows of the Lord.
Lorsqu’Asa eut entendu cela, c’est-à-dire les paroles et la prophétie d’Azarias, fils d’Oded, le prophète, il se fortifia, et enleva les idoles de toute la terre de Juda et de Benjamin, et des villes qu’il avait prises, du mont Ephraïm, et il dédia l’autel du Seigneur qui était devant le portique du Seigneur.
9 And he gaderide togidere al Juda and Beniamyn, and with hem the comelyngis of Effraym, and of Manasses, and of Symeon; for manye of Israel, seynge that his Lord God was with hym, fledden ouer to hym.
Et il assembla tout Juda et Benjamin, et avec eux les étrangers venus d’Ephraïm, de Manassé, et de Siméon; car plusieurs s’étaient réfugiés d’Israël vers lui, voyant que le Seigneur son Dieu était avec lui.
10 And whanne thei hadden comun in to Jerusalem, in the thridde monethe, in the fiftenthe yeer of the rewme of Asa,
Et lorsqu’ils furent venus à Jérusalem le troisième mois, l’an quinzième du règne d’Asa,
11 thei offriden `to the Lord in that dai, bothe of the spuylis and of the prey, which thei hadden brouyt, seuene hundrid oxis, and seuene thousynde wetheris.
Ils immolèrent au Seigneur en ce jour-là, parmi les dépouilles et le butin qu’ils avaient emmené, sept cents bœufs et sept mille béliers.
12 And Asa entride bi custom to make strong the boond of pees, that thei schulden seke the Lord God of her fadris in al her herte, and in al her soule.
Et le roi entra selon la coutume pour confirmer l’alliance, afin qu’ils cherchassent le Seigneur Dieu de leurs pères de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme.
13 Sotheli he seide, If ony man sekith not the Lord God of Israel, die he, fro the leeste `til to the mooste, fro man `til to womman.
Or, si quelqu’un, dit-il, ne cherche pas le Seigneur Dieu d’Israël, qu’il meure, depuis le plus petit jusqu’au plus grand, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la femme.
14 And alle that weren in Juda sworen with cursyng to the Lord, with greet vois, in hertli song, and in sown of trumpe, and in sown of clariouns;
Et ils le jurèrent au Seigneur avec une voix forte au milieu des cris de joie, au bruit de la trompette et au son des clairons,
15 for thei sworen in al her herte, and in al the wille thei souyten hym, and founden hym; and the Lord yaf to hem reste bi cumpas.
Tous ceux qui étaient dans la Judée, avec exécration; car c’est en tout leur cœur qu’ils jurèrent, et avec leur entière volonté qu’ils cherchèrent le Seigneur; et ils le trouvèrent, et le Seigneur leur donna le repos à l’entour.
16 But also he puttide doun Maacha, the modir of `Asa the kyng, fro the streit empire, for sche hadde made in a wode the symylacre, `ether licnesse, of a mannus yerde; and he al to-brak al `that symylacre, and pownede it in to gobetis, and `brente it in the stronde of Cedron.
Asa déposa Maacha, mère du roi, de l’autorité souveraine, parce qu’elle avait élevé dans un bois sacré un simulacre de Priape, qu’il brisa entièrement; et l’ayant mis en pièces, il le brûla dans le torrent de Cédron.
17 But hiy places weren left in Israel; netheles the herte of Asa was riytful in alle hise daies.
Mais les hauts lieux restèrent en Israël; cependant le cœur d’Asa fut parfait durant tous ses jours.
18 And he brouyte in to the hows of the Lord tho thingis that his fadir avowide, siluer and gold, and dyuerse purtenaunce of vessels;
Et les choses que son père avait vouées ainsi que lui-même, il les porta dans la maison du Seigneur: de l’argent, de l’or et différentes espèces de vases.
19 sotheli batel was not `til to the threttithe yeer of the rewme of Asa.
Or il n’y eut point de guerre jusqu’à la trente-cinquième année du règne d’Asa.
