1 Timothy 3
1 A feithful word. If ony man desirith a bishopriche, he desirith a good werk.
Òtítọ́ ni ọ̀rọ̀ náà, bí ẹnìkan bá fẹ́ ipò alábojútó, iṣẹ́ rere ni ó ń fẹ́.
2 Therfor it bihoueth a byschop to be with out repreef, the hosebonde of o wijf, sobre, prudent, chast, vertewous, holdinge hospitalite, a techere;
Ǹjẹ́ alábojútó yẹ kí ó jẹ́ aláìlẹ́gàn, ọkọ aya kan, olùṣọ̀ràn, aláìrékọjá, oníwà rere, olùfẹ́ àlejò ṣíṣe, ẹni tí ó lè ṣe olùkọ́.
3 not youun myche to wyn, not a smytere, but temperat, not ful of chiding, not coueitouse, wel reulinge his hous,
Kí ó má jẹ́ ọ̀mùtí, tàbí oníjàgídíjàgan, tàbí olójúkòkòrò, bí kò ṣe onísùúrù, kí ó má jẹ́ oníjà, tàbí olùfẹ́ owó.
4 and haue sones suget with al chastite;
Ẹni tí ó káwọ́ ilé ara rẹ̀ gírígírí, tí ó mú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ tẹríba pẹ̀lú ìwà àgbà gbogbo.
5 for if ony man kan not gouerne his house, hou schal he haue diligence of the chirche of God? not new conuertid to the feith,
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ènìyàn kò bá mọ̀ bí a ti ń ṣe ìkáwọ́ ilé ara rẹ̀, òun ó ha ti ṣe lè tọ́jú ìjọ Ọlọ́run?
6 lest he be borun vp in to pride, and falle in to doom of the deuel.
Kí ó má jẹ́ ẹni tuntun ti ó ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbàgbọ́, kí ó má ba à gbéraga, a sì ṣubú sínú ẹ̀bi èṣù.
7 For it bihoueth hym to haue also good witnessing of hem that ben with outforth, that he falle not in to repreef, and in to the snare of the deuel.
Ó sì yẹ kí ó ni ẹ̀rí rere pẹ̀lú lọ́dọ̀ àwọn tí ń bẹ lóde; kí ó má ba à bọ́ sínú ẹ̀gàn àti sínú ìdẹ̀kùn èṣù.
8 Also it bihoueth dekenes to be chast, not double tungid, not youun myche to wyn, not suynge foul wynnyng;
Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni ó yẹ fún àwọn Díákónì láti ní ìwà àgbà, kí wọ́n máa jẹ́ ẹlẹ́nu méjì, kí wọ́n máa fi ara wọn fún wáìnì púpọ̀, kí wọ́n má jẹ́ olójúkòkòrò.
9 that han the mysterie of feith in clene conscience.
Kí wọn máa di ohun ìjìnlẹ̀ ìgbàgbọ́ mú pẹ̀lú ọkàn funfun.
10 But be thei preued first, and mynystre so, hauynge no cryme.
Kí a kọ́kọ́ wádìí àwọn wọ̀nyí dájú pẹ̀lú; nígbà náà ni kí a jẹ́ kí wọn ó ṣiṣẹ́ díákónì, bí wọn bá jẹ́ aláìlẹ́gàn.
11 Also it bihoueth wymmen to be chast, not bacbitinge, sobre, feithful in alle thingis.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni ó yẹ fún àwọn obìnrin láti ni ìwà àgbà, kí wọn má jẹ́ asọ̀rọ̀ ẹni lẹ́yìn bí kò ṣe aláìrékọjá, olóòtítọ́ ní ohun gbogbo.
12 Dekenes be hosebondis of o wijf; whiche gouerne wel her sones and her housis.
Kí àwọn díákónì jẹ́ ọkọ obìnrin kan, kí wọn káwọ́ àwọn ọmọ àti ilé ara wọn dáradára.
13 For thei that mynystren wel, schulen gete a good degre to hem silf, and myche triste in the feith, that is in Crist Jhesu.
Nítorí àwọn tí ó lo ipò díákónì dáradára ra ipò rere fún ara wọn, àti ìgboyà púpọ̀ nínú ìgbàgbọ́ tí ń bẹ nínú Kristi Jesu.
14 Sone Timothe, Y write to thee these thingis, hopinge that Y schal come soon to thee;
Ìwé nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni mo kọ sí ọ, mo sì ń retí àti tọ̀ ọ́ wá ní lọ́ọ́lọ́ọ́.
15 but if Y tarie, that thou wite, hou it bihoueth thee to lyue in the hous of God, that is the chirche of lyuynge God, a pilere and sadnesse of treuthe.
Ṣùgbọ́n bí mo bá pẹ́, kí ìwọ lè mọ̀ bí ó ti yẹ fún àwọn ènìyàn láti máa hùwà nínú ilé Ọlọ́run, tì í ṣe ìjọ Ọlọ́run alààyè, ọ̀wọ́n àti ìpìlẹ̀ òtítọ́.
16 And opynli it is a greet sacrament of pitee, that thing that was schewid in fleisch, it is iustified in spirit, it apperid to aungels, it is prechid to hethene men, it is bileuyd in the world, it is takun vp in glorie.
Láìṣiyèméjì, títóbi ní ohun ìjìnlẹ̀ ìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run: ẹni tí a fihàn nínú ara, tí a dá láre nínú Ẹ̀mí, ti àwọn angẹli rí, tí a wàásù rẹ̀ láàrín àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè, tí a gbàgbọ́ nínú ayé, tí a sì gbà sókè sínú ògo.
