1 Samuel 2
1 And Anna worschipide, and seide, Myn herte fulli ioiede in the Lord, and myn horn is reisid in my God; my mouth is alargid on myn enemyes, for Y was glad in thin helthe.
Toen bad Hanna en zeide: Mijn hart springt van vreugde op in den HEERE; mijn hoorn is verhoogd in den HEERE; mijn mond is wijd opengedaan over mijn vijanden; want ik verheug mij in Uw heil.
2 Noon is hooli as the Lord is; `for noon other is, outakun thee, and noon is strong as oure God.
Er is niemand heilig, gelijk de HEERE; want er is niemand dan Gij, en er is geen rotssteen, gelijk onze God!
3 Nyle ye multiplie to speke hiye thingis, and haue glorie; elde thingis go awey fro youre mouth; for God is Lord of kunnyngis, and thouytis ben maad redi to hym.
Maakt het niet te veel, dat gij hoog, hoog zoudt spreken, dat iets hards uit uw mond zou gaan; want de HEERE is een God der wetenschappen, en Zijn daden zijn recht gedaan.
4 The bouwe of strong men is ouercomun, and sijk men ben gird with strengthe.
De boog der sterken is gebroken; en die struikelden, zijn met sterkte omgord.
5 Men fillid bifore settiden hem silf to hire for looues, and hungri men ben fillid; while the bareyn womman childide ful manye, and sche that hadde many sones, was sijke.
Die verzadigd waren, hebben zich verhuurd om brood, en die hongerig waren, zijn het niet meer; totdat de onvruchtbare zeven heeft gebaard, en die vele kinderen had, krachteloos is geworden.
De HEERE doodt en maakt levend; Hij doet ter helle nederdalen, en Hij doet weder opkomen. (Sheol h7585)
7 The Lord makith pore, and makith riche; he makith low, and reisith.
De HEERE maakt arm en maakt rijk; Hij vernedert, ook verhoogt Hij.
8 He reisith a nedi man fro poudur, and `he reisith a pore man fro dryt, that he sitte with princes, and holde the seete of glorie; for the endis of erthe ben of the Lord, and he hath set the world on tho.
Hij verheft den geringe uit het stof, en den nooddruftige verhoogt Hij uit den drek, om te doen zitten bij de vorsten, dat Hij hen den stoel der ere doe beerven; want de grondvesten des aardrijks zijn des HEEREN, en Hij heeft de wereld daarop gezet.
9 He schal kepe `the feet of hise seyntis, and wickid men schulen be stille to gidere in derknessis; for a man schal not be maad strong in his owne strengthe.
Hij zal de voeten Zijner gunstgenoten bewaren; maar de goddelozen zullen zwijgen in duisternis; want een man vermag niet door kracht.
10 Aduersaries of the Lord schulen drede hym, and in heuenes he schal thundre on hem; the Lord schal deme the endis of erthe, and he schal yyue lordschip to his kyng, and he schal enhaunse the horn, `that is, power, of his Crist.
Die met den HEERE twisten, zullen verpletterd worden; Hij zal in den hemel over hen donderen; de HEERE zal de einden der aarde richten, en zal Zijn Koning sterkte geven, en den hoorn Zijns Gezalfden verhogen.
11 And Helcana yede in to Ramatha, in to his hows; forsothe the child was seruaunt in the siyt of the Lord bifor the face of Ely the preest.
Daarna ging Elkana naar Rama in zijn huis; maar de jongeling was den HEERE dienende voor het aangezicht van den priester Eli.
12 Forsothe the sones of Hely weren sones of Belial,
Doch de zonen van Eli waren kinderen Belials; zij kenden den HEERE niet.
13 and knewen not the Lord, nether the office of preestis to the puple; but who euer hadde offrid sacrifice, the child of the preest cam, while the fleischis weren in sething, and he hadde a fleischhook with thre teeth in his hond;
Want de wijze dier priesters met het volk was, dat, wanneer iemand een offerande offerde, des priesters jongen kwam, terwijl het vlees kookte, met een drietandigen krauwel in zijn hand;
14 and he sente it in to the `grete vessel of stoon, ethir in to the caudrun, ethir in to the pot, ethir in to the panne; and what euer thing the fleischhook reiside, the preest took to hym silf; so thei diden to al Israel of men comynge in to Silo.
En sloeg in de teile, of in den ketel, of in de pan, of in den pot; al wat de krauwel optrok, dat nam de priester voor zich. Alzo deden zij aan al de Israelieten, die te Silo kwamen.
15 Yhe bifor that `the sones of Hely brenten the ynnere fatnesse, the `child of the preest cam, and seyde to the offerere, Yyue `thou fleisch to me, that Y sethe to the preest; for Y schal not take of thee sodun fleisch, but raw.
Ook eer zij het vet aanstaken, kwam des priesters jongen, en zeide tot den man, die offerde: Geef dat vlees om te braden voor den priester; want hij zal geen gekookt vlees van u nemen, maar rauw.
16 And `the offrere seide to hym, The ynnere fatnesse be brent first to day bi the custom, and take thou to thee hou myche euer thi soule desirith. Whiche answeride, and seide to hym, Nay, for thou schalt yyue now; ellis Y schal take bi violence.
Wanneer nu die man tot hem zeide: Zij zullen dat vet als heden ganselijk aansteken, zo neem dan voor u, gelijk als het uw ziel lusten zal; zo zeide hij tot hem: Nu zult gij het immers geven, en zo niet, ik zal het met geweld nemen.
17 Therfor the synne of the children was ful greuouse bifor the Lord; for thei withdrowen men fro the `sacrifice of the Lord.
Alzo was de zonde dezer jongelingen zeer groot voor het aangezicht des HEEREN; want de lieden verachtten het spijsoffer des HEEREN.
18 `Forsothe Samuel, a child gird with a lynnun clooth, mynystride bifor the face of the Lord.
Doch Samuel diende voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, zijnde een jongeling, omgord met den linnen lijfrok.
19 And his moder made to hym a litil coote, which sche brouyte in daies ordeyned, and stiede with hir hosebonde, that he schulde offre a solempne offryng, and his auow.
En zijn moeder maakte hem een kleinen rok, en bracht hem dien van jaar tot jaar, als zij opkwam met haar man, om het jaarlijkse offer te offeren.
20 And Heli blesside Helcana and his wijf; and Heli seide `to hym, The Lord yelde to thee seed of this womman, for the yifte which thou hast youe to the Lord. And thei yeden in to her place.
En Eli zegende Elkana, en zijn huisvrouw, en zeide: De HEERE geve u zaad uit deze vrouw voor de bede, die zij den HEERE afgebeden heeft. En zij gingen naar zijn plaats.
21 Therfor the Lord visitide Anna, and sche conseyuede, and childide thre sones and twei douytris. And the child Samuel was `magnyfied at the Lord.
Want de HEERE bezocht Hanna, en zij werd bevrucht, en baarde drie zonen en twee dochters; en de jongeling Samuel werd groot bij den HEERE.
22 Forsothe Hely was ful eld, and he herde alle `thingis whiche hise sones diden in al Israel, and hou thei slepten with wymmen, that awaitiden at the dore of the tabernacle.
Doch Eli was zeer oud, en hoorde al, wat zijn zonen aan gans Israel deden, en dat zij sliepen bij de vrouwen, die met hopen samenkwamen aan de deur van de tent der samenkomst.
23 And he seide to hem, Whi doen ye siche thingis, the worste thingis whiche Y here of al the puple?
En hij zeide tot hen: Waarom doet gij al zulke dingen, dat ik deze uw boze stukken hore van dit ganse volk?
24 Nyle ye, my sones; it is not good fame, which Y here, that ye make the `puple of the Lord to do trespas.
Niet, mijn zonen; want dit is geen goed gerucht, dat ik hoor; gij maakt, dat het volk des HEEREN overtreedt.
25 If a man synneth ayens a man, God may be plesid to him; forsothe if a man synneth ayens the Lord, who schal preye for hym? And thei herden not the vois of her fadir, for God wolde sle hem.
Wanneer een mens tegen een mens zondigt, zo zullen de goden hem oordelen; maar wanneer een mens tegen den HEERE zondigt, wie zal voor hem bidden? Doch zij hoorden de stem huns vaders niet, want de HEERE wilde hen doden.
26 Forsothe the child Samuel profitide, and encreessyde, and pleside bothe God and men.
En de jongeling Samuel nam toe, en werd groot en aangenaam beide bij den HEERE en ook bij de mensen.
27 Sotheli a man of God cam to Hely, and seide to hym, The Lord seith these thingis, Whether Y was not schewid apertli to the hows of thi fadir, whanne he was in Egipt, in the hows of Farao?
En er kwam een man Gods tot Eli, en zeide tot hem: Zo zegt de HEERE: Heb Ik Mij klaarlijk geopenbaard aan het huis uws vaders, toen zij in Egypte waren, in het huis van Farao?
28 And Y chees hym of alle lynagis of Israel `in to preest to me, that he schulde stie to myn auter, and schulde brenne encense to me, and that he schulde bere bifor me preestis cloth; and Y yaf to `the hows of thi fadir alle thingis of the sacrifices of the sones of Israel.
En Ik heb hem uit alle stammen van Israel Mij ten priester verkoren, om te offeren op Mijn altaar, om het reukwerk aan te steken, om den efod voor Mijn aangezicht te dragen; en heb aan het huis uws vaders gegeven al de vuurofferen van de kinderen Israels.
29 Whi hast thou cast awey with the heele my sacrifice, and my yiftis, whiche Y comaundide to be offrid in the temple; and thou onouridst more thi sones than me, that ye eeten the principal partis of ech sacrifice of `Israel, my puple?
Waarom slaat gijlieden achteruit tegen Mijn slachtoffer, en tegen Mijn spijsoffer, hetwelk Ik geboden heb in de woning; en eert uw zonen meer dan Mij, dat gijlieden u mest van het voornaamste van alle spijsoffers van Mijn volk Israel?
30 Therfor the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y spekynge spak, that thin hows and `the hows of thi fadir schulde mynystre in my siyt til in to with outen ende; `now forsothe the Lord seith, Fer be this fro me; but who euere onourith me, Y schal glorifie hym; forsothe thei that dispisen me, schulen be vnnoble.
Daarom spreekt de HEERE, de God Israels: Ik had wel klaarlijk gezegd: Uw huis en uws vaders huis zouden voor Mijn aangezicht wandelen tot in eeuwigheid; maar nu spreekt de HEERE: Dat zij verre van Mij; want die Mij eren, zal Ik eren, maar die Mij versmaden, zullen licht geacht worden.
31 Lo! daies comen, and Y schal kitte awei thin arm, and the arm of the hows of thi fadir, that an eld man be not in thin hows.
Zie, de dagen komen, dat Ik uw arm zal afhouwen, en den arm van uws vaders huis, dat er geen oud man in uw huis wezen zal.
32 And thou schalt se thin enemy in the temple, in alle prosperitees of Israel; and an eld man schal not be in thin hows in alle daies.
En gij zult aanschouwen de benauwdheid der woning Gods, in plaats van al het goede, dat Hij Israel zou gedaan hebben; en er zal te genen dage een oud man in uw huis zijn.
33 Netheles Y schal not outerli take awei of thee a man fro myn auter, but that thin iyen faile, and thi soule faile; and greet part of thin hows schal die, whanne it schal come to mannus age.
Doch de man, dien Ik u niet zal uitroeien van Mijn altaar, zou zijn om uw ogen te verteren, en om uw ziel te bedroeven; en al de menigte uws huizes zal sterven, mannen geworden zijnde.
34 Forsothe this schal be signe, that schal come to thi twei sones Ophym and Fynees, bothe schulen die in o dai.
Dit nu zal u een teken zijn, hetwelk over uw beide zonen, over Hofni en Pinehas, komen zal: op een dag zullen zij beiden sterven.
35 And Y schal reise to me a feithful preest, that schal do bi myn herte and my soule; and Y schal bilde to hym a feithful hows, and he schal go bifore my Crist in alle daies.
En Ik zal Mij een getrouwen priester verwekken; die zal doen, gelijk als in Mijn hart en in Mijn ziel zijn zal; dien zal Ik een bestendig huis bouwen, en hij zal altijd voor het aangezicht Mijns Gezalfden wandelen.
36 Forsothe it schal come, that who euer dwellith in thin hows, he come that `me preie for him, and that he offre a peny of siluer, and a cake of breed, and seie, Y biseche, suffre thou me to o `part of the preest, that Y ete a mussel of breed.
En het zal geschieden, dat al wie van uw huis zal overig zijn, zal komen, om zich voor hem neder te buigen voor een stukje gelds, en een bolle broods, en zal zeggen: Neem mij toch aan tot enige priesterlijke bediening, dat ik een bete broods moge eten.
