1 Peter 5
1 Therfor Y, an euene eldre man, and a witnesse of Cristis passiouns, which also am a comynere of that glorie, that schal be schewid in tyme to comynge; byseche ye the eldre men,
Starších, kteříž mezi vámi jsou, prosím já spolustarší, a svědek Kristových utrpení, a budoucí, kteráž zjevena bude, slávy účastník,
2 that ben among you, fede ye the flok of God, that is among you, and puruey ye, not as constreyned, but wilfulli, bi God; not for loue of foule wynnyng,
Paste stádo Boží, kteréž při vás jest, opatrujíce je, ne bezděky, ale dobrovolně, ne pro mrzký zisk, ale ochotně,
3 but wilfulli, nether as hauynge lordschip in the clergie, but that ye ben maad ensaumple of the floc, of wille.
Ani jako panujíce nad dědictvím Páně, ale příkladem jsouce stádu.
4 And whanne the prince of scheepherdis schal appere, ye schulen resseyue the coroun of glorie, that may neuere fade.
A když se ukáže kníže pastýřů, vezmete tu neuvadlou korunu slávy.
5 Also, ye yonge men, be ye suget to eldre men, and alle schewe ye togidere mekenesse; for the Lord withstondith proude men, but he yyueth grace to meke men.
Podobně mládenci, buďte poddáni starším. A všickni poddanost jedni druhým ukazujte, pokorou vnitř se ozdobte. Bůh zajisté pyšným se protiví, ale pokorným dává milost.
6 Therfor be ye mekid vndir the myyti hoond of God, that he reise you in the tyme of visitacioun,
Pokořtež se tedy pod mocnou ruku Boží, aby vás povýšil časem svým,
7 and caste ye al youre bisynesse in to hym, for to hym is cure of you.
Všelikou péči svou uvrhouce na něj. Nebo on má péči o vás.
8 Be ye sobre, and wake ye, for youre aduersarie, the deuel, as a rorynge lioun goith aboute, sechinge whom he schal deuoure.
Střízliví buďte, bděte; nebo protivník váš ďábel jako lev řvoucí obchází, hledaje, koho by sežral.
9 Whom ayenstonde ye, stronge in the feith, witynge that the same passioun is maad to thilke brithirhode of you, that is in the world.
Jemuž odpírejte, silní jsouce u víře, vědouce, že tatáž utrpení bratrstvo vaše, kteréž na světě jest, obkličují.
10 And God of al grace, that clepide you in to his euerlastinge glorie, you suffrynge a litil, he schal performe, and schal conferme, and schal make sad. (aiōnios g166)
Bůh pak všeliké milosti, kterýž povolal nás k věčné slávě své v Kristu Ježíši, když maličko potrpíte, on dokonalé vás učiň, utvrď, zmocni, i upevni, (aiōnios g166)
Jemuž sláva a císařství na věky věků. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 Bi Siluan, feithful brother to you as Y deme, Y wroot schortli; bisechinge, and witnessinge that this is the very grace of God, in which ye stonden.
Po Silvánovi, vám věrném bratru, tak za to mám, že jsem psal krátce, napomínaje a osvědčuje, že tato jest pravá milost Boží, v kteréž stojíte.

Pozdravuje vás ta církev, kteráž jest v Babyloně, účastnice vyvolení vašeho, a Marek syn můj.
14 Grete ye wel togidere in hooli cos. Grace be to you alle that ben in Crist. Amen.
Pozdravtež jedni druhých v políbení laskavém. Pokoj vám všechněm, kteříž jste v Kristu Ježíši. Amen.
