1 Kings 5
1 Also Hiram, kyng of Tire, sente hise seruauntis to Salomon; for he herde that thei hadden anoyntide hym kyng for his fadir; for Hiram was frend of Dauid in al time.
সোরের রাজা হীরম যখন শুনেছিলেন যে শলোমন তাঁর বাবার স্থানে রাজপদে অভিষিক্ত হয়েছেন, তখন শলোমনের কাছে তিনি তাঁর প্রতিনিধিদের পাঠালেন, কারণ দাউদের সঙ্গে সবসময় তাঁর এক সুসম্পর্ক বজায় ছিল।
2 Sotheli also Salomon sente to Hiram,
শলোমন হীরমের কাছে এই খবর দিয়ে পাঠালেন:
3 and seide, Thou knowist the wille of Dauid, my fadir, and for he miyte not bilde an hows to the name of his God, for batels neiyynge bi cumpas, til the Lord yaf hem vndur the step of hise feet.
“আপনি জানেন, যেহেতু সবদিক থেকেই আমার বাবা দাউদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ চালানো হল, তাই যতদিন না সদাপ্রভু তাঁর শত্রুদের তাঁর পদতলে এনেছিলেন, তিনি তাঁর ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামের উদ্দেশে এক মন্দির নির্মাণ করতে পারেননি।
4 Now forsothe my Lord God yaf reste to me bi cumpas, and noon aduersarie is, nethir yuel asailyng;
কিন্তু এখন আমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু সবদিক থেকেই আমাকে বিশ্রাম দিয়েছেন, এবং এখন আর কোনও প্রতিপক্ষ বা দুর্বিপাক নেই।
5 wherfor Y thenke to buylde a temple to the name of my Lord God, as God spak to Dauid, my fadir, and seide, Thi sone, whom Y schal yyue to thee for thee on thi trone, he schal bilde an hows to my name.
তাই আমি সংকল্প করেছি, সদাপ্রভু আমার বাবা দাউদকে যা বললেন, সেই অনুসারেই আমি আমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামের উদ্দেশে একটি মন্দির নির্মাণ করব। কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে বললেন, ‘যাকে আমি তোমার স্থানে সিংহাসনে বসাব, তোমার সেই ছেলেই আমার নামের উদ্দেশে মন্দির নির্মাণ করবে।’
6 Therfor comaunde thou, that thi seruauntis hewe doun to me cedris of the Liban; and my seruauntis be with thi seruauntis; sotheli Y schal yyue to thee the meede of thi seruauntis, what euere meede thou schalt axe; for thou woost, that in my puple is not a man that kan hewe trees, as Sidonyes kunnen.
“তাই আদেশ দিন, যেন আমার জন্য লেবাননের দেবদারু গাছগুলি কাটা হয়। আমার লোকজন আপনার লোকজনের সঙ্গে থেকে কাজ করবে, এবং আপনার ঠিক করে দেওয়া বেতনই আমি আপনার লোকজনকে দেব। আপনি তো জানেনই যে সীদোনীয়দের মতো আমাদের কাছে কাঠ কাটার কাজে এত নিপুণ কোনও লোক নেই।”
7 Therfor whanne Hiram hadde herde the wordis of Salomon, he was ful glad, and seide, Blessid be the Lord God to dai, that yaf to Dauid a sone moost wijs on this puple ful myche.
শলোমনের কাছ থেকে এই খবর পেয়ে হীরম খুব খুশি হয়ে বললেন, “আজ সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা হোক, কারণ তিনি দাউদকে এই বিশাল দেশটি শাসন করার জন্য বিচক্ষণ এক ছেলে দিয়েছেন।”
8 And Hiram sente to Salomon, and seide, Y haue herde what euer thingis thou sentist to me; Y schal do al thi wille, in trees of cedres, and of beechis.
তাই হীরম শলোমনের কাছে এই খবর পাঠালেন: “আপনি আমায় যে খবর পাঠিয়েছেন, তা আমি পেয়েছি এবং দেবদারু ও চিরহরিৎ গাছের কাঠ জোগানোর সম্বন্ধে আপনি আমার কাছে যা যা চেয়েছেন, আমি সেসবকিছু করব।
9 My seruauntis schulen putte doun tho trees fro the Liban to the see, and Y schal araye tho trees in schippis in the see, `til to the place which thou schalt signyfie to me; and Y schal dresse tho there, that thou take tho; and thou schalt yyue necessaries to me, that mete be youun to myn hows.
আমার লোকজন লেবানন থেকে সেগুলি ভূমধ্যসাগরে টেনে নামাবে, এবং আমি সমুদ্রের জলে সেগুলি ভেলার মতো করে ভাসিয়ে ঠিক সেখানেই পৌঁছে দেব, আপনি যে স্থানটি নির্দিষ্ট করে দেবেন। সেখানে আমি সেগুলির বাঁধন খুলিয়ে দেব এবং আপনাকেও আমার রাজপরিবারের জন্য খাবারদাবারের জোগান দেওয়ার মাধ্যমে আমার ইচ্ছা পূরণ করতে হবে।”
10 Therfor Hiram yaf to Salomon `trees of cedres, and `trees of beechis, bi al his wille;
এইভাবে হীরম শলোমনের চাহিদানুসারে তাঁকে দেবদারু ও চিরহরিৎ গাছের কাঠ সরবরাহ করে যাচ্ছিলেন,
11 forsothe Salomon yaf to Hiram twenti thousynde chorus of wheete, in to meete to his hows, and twenti chorus of pureste oile; Salomon yaf these thingis to Hiram bi alle yeeris.
এবং শলোমন হীরমের পরিবারের জন্য খাদ্যসম্ভাররূপে 20,000 বাত মাড়াই করা জলপাই তেলের পাশাপাশি 20,000 কোর গম তাঁকে দিলেন। বছরের পর বছর শলোমন হীরমের জন্য এমনটি করে গেলেন।
12 Also the Lord yaf wisdom to Salomon, as he spak to hym; and pees was bitwixe Hiram and Salomon, and bothe smytiden boond of pees.
সদাপ্রভু তাঁর নিজের করা প্রতিজ্ঞানুসারে শলোমনকে সুবিবেচনা দিলেন। হীরম ও শলোমনের মধ্যে শান্তিপূর্ণ সম্পর্ক ছিল, এবং তারা দুজন এক চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরিত করলেন।
13 And kyng Salomon chees werk men of al Israel; and the summe was thretti thousynde of men.
রাজা শলোমন সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল থেকে ত্রিশ হাজার লোককে বাধ্যতামূলকভাবে কাজে লাগালেন।
14 And `Salomon sente hem in to the Liban, ten thousynde bi ech monethe bi whilis, so that in twei monethis bi whilis thei weren in her howsis; and Adonyram was on sich a summe.
প্রতি মাসে পালা করে দশ-দশ হাজার লোককে তিনি লেবাননে পাঠাতেন, ফলস্বরূপ এক মাস তারা লেবাননে ও দুই মাস ঘরে কাটাত। অদোনীরাম বেগার শ্রমিকদের দেখাশোনার দায়িত্বে ছিলেন।
15 Therfor seuenti thousynde of hem, that baren burthuns, weren to Salomon, and foure score thousynde of masouns in the hil, with out the souereyns,
শলোমনের কাছে সত্তর হাজার ভারবহনকারী ও পাহাড়ে আশি হাজার পাথর ভাঙার লোক ছিল,
16 that weren maistris of alle werkis, bi the noumbre of thre thousynde and thre hundrid, comaundynge to the puple, and to hem that maden werk.
এছাড়াও শলোমনের 33,000 সর্দার-শ্রমিকও ছিল, যারা প্রকল্পটির তত্ত্বাবধান করত ও শ্রমিকদের পরিচালনা করত।
17 And the kyng comaundide, that thei schulden take greete stonys, `and preciouse stonys, in to the foundement of the temple, and that thei schulden make tho square;
রাজার আদেশে তারা পাথর খাদান থেকে উৎকৃষ্ট মানের বড়ো বড়ো পাথরের চাঙড় কেটে তুলত, যা দিয়ে মন্দিরের জন্য আকর্ষণীয় ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর তৈরি হতে যাচ্ছিল।
18 whiche stoonys the masouns of Salomon, and the masouns of Hyram, hewiden. Forsothe Biblies maden redi trees and stonus, to the hows to be bildid.
শলোমনের ও হীরমের কারিগররা এবং গিব্লীয় শ্রমিকেরা মন্দির নির্মাণের জন্য কাঠ ও পাথর কেটে সেগুলি তৈরি করে রাখত।
