1 John 5
1 Ech man that bileueth that Jhesus is Crist, is borun of God; and ech man that loueth hym that gendride, loueth hym that is borun of hym.
πας ο πιστευων οτι ιησους εστιν ο χριστος εκ του θεου γεγεννηται και πας ο αγαπων τον γεννησαντα αγαπα {VAR2: [και] } τον γεγεννημενον εξ αυτου
2 In this thing we knowen, that we louen the children of God, whanne we louen God, and don his maundementis.
εν τουτω γινωσκομεν οτι αγαπωμεν τα τεκνα του θεου οταν τον θεον αγαπωμεν και τας εντολας αυτου ποιωμεν
3 For this is the charite of God, that we kepe hise maundementis; and his maundementis ben not heuy.
αυτη γαρ εστιν η αγαπη του θεου ινα τας εντολας αυτου τηρωμεν και αι εντολαι αυτου βαρειαι ουκ εισιν
4 For al thing that is borun of God, ouercometh the world; and this is the victorie that ouercometh the world, oure feith.
οτι παν το γεγεννημενον εκ του θεου νικα τον κοσμον και αυτη εστιν η νικη η νικησασα τον κοσμον η πιστις ημων
5 And who is he that ouercometh the world, but he that bileueth that Jhesus is the sone of God?
τις {VAR1: εστιν [δε] } {VAR2: [δε] εστιν } ο νικων τον κοσμον ει μη ο πιστευων οτι ιησους εστιν ο υιος του θεου
6 This is Jhesus Crist, that cam bi watir and blood; not in water oonli, but in watir and blood. And the spirit is he that witnessith, that Crist is treuthe.
ουτος εστιν ο ελθων δι υδατος και αιματος ιησους χριστος ουκ εν τω υδατι μονον αλλ εν τω υδατι και εν τω αιματι και το πνευμα εστιν το μαρτυρουν οτι το πνευμα εστιν η αληθεια
7 For thre ben, that yyuen witnessing in heuene, the Fadir, the Sone, and the Hooli Goost; and these thre ben oon.
οτι τρεις εισιν οι μαρτυρουντες
8 `And thre ben, that yyuen witnessing in erthe, the spirit, water, and blood; and these thre ben oon.
το πνευμα και το υδωρ και το αιμα και οι τρεις εις το εν εισιν
9 If we resseyuen the witnessing of men, the witnessing of God is more; for this is the witnessing of God, that is more, for he witnesside of his sone.
ει την μαρτυριαν των ανθρωπων λαμβανομεν η μαρτυρια του θεου μειζων εστιν οτι αυτη εστιν η μαρτυρια του θεου οτι μεμαρτυρηκεν περι του υιου αυτου
10 He that bileueth in the sone of God, hath the witnessing of God in hym. He that bileueth not to the sone, makith hym a liere; for he bileueth not in the witnessing, that God witnesside of his sone.
ο πιστευων εις τον υιον του θεου εχει την μαρτυριαν εν {VAR1: αυτω } {VAR2: εαυτω } ο μη πιστευων τω θεω ψευστην πεποιηκεν αυτον οτι ου πεπιστευκεν εις την μαρτυριαν ην μεμαρτυρηκεν ο θεος περι του υιου αυτου
11 And this is the witnessyng, for God yaf to you euerlastinge lijf, and this lijf is in his sone. (aiōnios g166)
και αυτη εστιν η μαρτυρια οτι ζωην αιωνιον εδωκεν {VAR1: ο θεος ημιν } {VAR2: ημιν ο θεος } και αυτη η ζωη εν τω υιω αυτου εστιν (aiōnios g166)
12 He that hath the sone of God, hath also lijf; he that hath not the sone of God, hath not lijf.
ο εχων τον υιον εχει την ζωην ο μη εχων τον υιον του θεου την ζωην ουκ εχει
13 I write to you these thingis, that ye wite, that ye han euerlastynge lijf, which bileuen in the name of Goddis sone. (aiōnios g166)
ταυτα εγραψα υμιν ινα ειδητε οτι ζωην εχετε αιωνιον τοις πιστευουσιν εις το ονομα του υιου του θεου (aiōnios g166)
14 And this is the trist which we han to God, that what euer thing we axen aftir his wille, he schal here vs.
και αυτη εστιν η παρρησια ην εχομεν προς αυτον οτι εαν τι αιτωμεθα κατα το θελημα αυτου ακουει ημων
15 And we witen, that he herith vs, what euer thing we axen; we witen, that we han the axyngis, which we axen of hym.
και εαν οιδαμεν οτι ακουει ημων ο εαν αιτωμεθα οιδαμεν οτι εχομεν τα αιτηματα α ητηκαμεν απ αυτου
16 He that woot that his brother synneth a synne not to deth, axe he, and lijf schal be youun to hym that synneth not to deth. Ther is a synne to deth; `not for it Y seie, that ony man preie.
εαν τις ιδη τον αδελφον αυτου αμαρτανοντα αμαρτιαν μη προς θανατον αιτησει και δωσει αυτω ζωην τοις αμαρτανουσιν μη προς θανατον εστιν αμαρτια προς θανατον ου περι εκεινης λεγω ινα ερωτηση
17 Ech wickidnesse is synne, and ther is synne to deth.
πασα αδικια αμαρτια εστιν και εστιν αμαρτια ου προς θανατον
18 We witen, that ech man that is borun of God, synneth not; but the generacioun of God kepith hym, and the wickid touchith hym not.
οιδαμεν οτι πας ο γεγεννημενος εκ του θεου ουχ αμαρτανει αλλ ο γεννηθεις εκ του θεου τηρει αυτον και ο πονηρος ουχ απτεται αυτου
19 We witen, that we ben of God, and al the world is set in yuel.
οιδαμεν οτι εκ του θεου εσμεν και ο κοσμος ολος εν τω πονηρω κειται
20 And we witen, that the sone of God cam in fleisch, and yaf to vs wit, that we know veri God, and be in the veri sone of hym. This is veri God, and euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)
οιδαμεν δε οτι ο υιος του θεου ηκει και δεδωκεν ημιν διανοιαν ινα {VAR1: γινωσκομεν } {VAR2: γινωσκωμεν } τον αληθινον και εσμεν εν τω αληθινω εν τω υιω αυτου ιησου χριστω ουτος εστιν ο αληθινος θεος και ζωη αιωνιος (aiōnios g166)
21 My litle sones, kepe ye you fro maumetis.
τεκνια φυλαξατε εαυτα απο των ειδωλων
