1 John 4
1 Moost dere britheren, nyle ye bileue to ech spirit, but preue ye spiritis, if thei ben of God; for many false prophetis wenten out in to the world.
Carísimos, no creáis a todo espíritu, sino poned a prueba los espíritus si son de Dios; porque muchos falsos profetas han salido al mundo.
2 In this thing the spirit of God is knowun; ech spirit that knowlechith that Jhesu Crist hath come in fleisch, is of God;
Conoced el Espíritu de Dios en esto: todo espíritu que confiesa que Jesucristo ha venido en carne, es de Dios;
3 and ech spirit that fordoith Jhesu, is not of God. And this is antecrist, of whom ye herden, that he cometh; and riyt now he is in the world.
y todo espíritu que no confiesa a Jesús, no es de Dios, sino que es el espíritu del Anticristo. Habéis oído que viene ese espíritu, y ahora está ya en el mundo.
4 Ye, litle sones, ben of God, and ye han ouercome hym; for he that is in you is more, than he that is in the world.
Vosotros, hijitos, sois de Dios, y los habéis vencido, porque el que está en vosotros es mayor que el que está en el mundo.
5 Thei ben of the world, therfor thei speken of the world, and the world herith hem.
Ellos son del mundo; por eso hablan según el mundo, y el mundo los escucha.
6 We ben of God; he that knowith God, herith vs; he that is not of God, herith not vs. In this thing we knowen the spirit of treuthe, and the spirit of errour.
Nosotros somos de Dios. El que conoce a Dios nos escucha a nosotros; el que no es de Dios no nos escucha. En esto conocemos el Espíritu de la verdad y el espíritu del error.
7 Moost dere britheren, loue we togidere, for charite is of God; and ech that loueth his brother, is borun of God, and knowith God.
Carísimos, amémonos unos a otros, porque el amor es de Dios, y todo el que ama es nacido de Dios y conoce a Dios.
8 He that loueth not, knowith not God; for God is charite.
El que no ama, no ha aprendido a conocer a Dios, porque Dios es amor.
9 In this thing the charite of God apperide in vs, for God sente hise oon bigetun sone in to the world, that we lyue bi hym.
Y el amor de Dios se ha manifestado en nosotros en que Dios envió al mundo su Hijo Unigénito, para que nosotros vivamos por Él.
10 In this thing is charite, not as we hadden loued God, but for he firste louede vs, and sente hise sone foryyuenesse for oure synnes.
En esto está el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que Él nos amó a nosotros y envió su Hijo como propiciación por nuestros pecados.
11 Ye moost dere britheren, if God louede vs, we owen to loue ech other.
Amados, si de tal manera nos amó Dios, también nosotros debemos amarnos mutuamente.
12 No man say euer God; if we louen togidre, God dwellith in vs, and the charite of hym is perfit in vs.
A Dios nadie lo ha visto jamás; mas si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros y su amor llega en nosotros a la perfección.
13 In this thing we knowen, that we dwellen in hym, and he in vs; for of his spirit he yaf to vs.
En esto conocemos que permanecemos en Él y Él en nosotros, en que nos ha dado de su Espíritu.
14 And we sayen, and witnessen, that the fadir sente his sone sauyour of the world.
Y nosotros vimos y testificamos que el Padre envió al Hijo como Salvador del mundo.
15 Who euer knowlechith, that Jhesu is the sone of God, God dwellith in him, and he in God.
Quienquiera confiesa que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, Dios permanece en él y él en Dios.
16 And we han knowun, and bileuen to the charite, that God hath in vs. God is charite, and he that dwellith in charite, dwellith in God, and God in hym.
En cuanto a nosotros, hemos conocido el amor que Dios nos tiene y hemos creído en ese amor. Dios es amor; y el que permanece en el amor, en Dios permanece y Dios permanece en él.
17 In this thing is the perfit charite of God with vs, that we haue trist in the dai of dom; for as he is, also we ben in this world.
En esto es perfecto el amor en nosotros —de modo que tengamos confianza segura en el día del juicio— porque tal como es Él somos también nosotros en este mundo.
18 Drede is not in charite, but perfit charite puttith out drede; for drede hath peyne. But he that dredith, is not perfit in charite.
En el amor no hay temor; al contrario, el amor perfecto echa fuera el temor, pues el temor supone castigo. El que teme no es perfecto en el amor.
19 Therfor loue we God, for he louede vs bifore.
Nosotros amamos porque Él nos amó primero.
20 If ony man seith, that `Y loue God, and hatith his brother, he is a liere. For he that loueth not his brothir, which he seeth, hou mai he loue God, whom he seeth not?
Si alguno dice: “Yo amo a Dios”, y odia a su hermano, es un mentiroso; pues el que no ama a su hermano a quien ve, no puede amar a Dios, a quien nunca ha visto.
21 And we han this comaundement of God, that he that loueth God, loue also his brothir.
Y este es el mandamiento que tenemos de Él: que quien ama a Dios ame también a su hermano.
