1 John 1
1 That thing that was fro the bigynnyng, which we herden, which we sayn with oure iyen, which we bihelden, and oure hondis touchiden, of the word of lijf;
Esta carta trata sobre la Palabra de vida que existía desde el principio, que hemos escuchado, que hemos visto con nuestros propios ojos y le hemos contemplado, y que hemos tocado con nuestras manos.
2 and the lijf is schewid. And we sayn, and we witnessen, and tellen to you the euerlastynge lijf, that was anentis the fadir, and apperide to vs. (aiōnios g166)
Esta Vida nos fue revelada. La vimos y damos testimonio de ella. Estamos hablándoles de Aquél que es la Vida Eterna, que estaba con el Padre, y que nos fue revelado. (aiōnios g166)
3 Therfor `we tellen to you that thing, that we seyn, and herden, that also ye haue felowschipe with vs, and oure felowschip be with the fadir, and with his sone Jhesu Crist.
Los que hemos visto y oído eso mismo les contamos, para que también puedan participar de esta amistad junto a nosotros. Esta amistad con el Padre y su Hijo Jesucristo.
4 And we writen this thing to you, that ye haue ioye, and that youre ioye be ful.
Escribimos para decirles esto, a fin de que nuestra felicidad sea completa.
5 And this is the tellyng, that we herden of hym, and tellen to you, that God is liyt, and ther ben no derknessis in him.
Este es el mensaje que recibimos de él y que nosotros les declaramos a ustedes: Dios es luz, y no hay ningún vestigio de oscuridad en él.
6 If we seien, that we han felawschip with hym, and we wandren in derknessis, we lien, and don not treuthe.
Si decimos ser sus amigos, y seguimos viviendo en oscuridad, estamos mintiendo, y no vivimos en la verdad.
7 But if we walken in liyt, as also he is in liyt, we han felawschip togidere; and the blood of Jhesu Crist, his sone, clensith vs fro al synne.
Pero si vivimos en la luz, así como él está en la luz, entonces somos amigos unos con otros, y la sangre de Jesús, su Hijo, nos limpia de todo pecado.
8 If we seien, that we han no synne, we disseyuen vs silf, and treuthe is not in vs.
Si decimos que no pecamos, nos engañamos a nosotros mismos, y la verdad no está en nosotros.
9 If we knowlechen oure synnes, he is feithful and iust, that he foryyue to vs oure synnes, and clense vs from al wickidnesse.
Pero si confesamos nuestros pecados, él es fiel y justo para perdonar nuestros pecados y limpiarnos de todo lo malo que hay dentro de nosotros.
10 And if we seien, we han not synned, we maken hym a liere, and his word is not in vs.
Si decimos que no hemos pecado, estamos llamando a Dios mentiroso, y su palabra no está en nosotros.
