1 Corinthians 1
1 Poul, clepid apostle of Jhesu Crist, bi the wille of God, and Sostenes, brothir, to the chirche of God that is at Corynthe,
Paulo, niliyeitwa kwa mapenzi ya Mungu kuwa mtume wa Kristo Yesu, na Sosthene ndugu yetu.
2 to hem that ben halewid in Crist Jhesu, and clepid seyntis, with alle that inwardli clepen the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, in ech place of hem and of oure,
Kwa kanisa la Mungu lililoko Korintho, kwa wale waliotakaswa katika Kristo Yesu na walioitwa kuwa watakatifu, pamoja na wale wote ambao kila mahali wanaliitia Jina la Kristo Yesu Bwana wetu, aliye Bwana wao na wetu pia:
3 grace to you and pees of God, oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.
Neema na amani itokayo kwa Mungu Baba yetu na kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo iwe nanyi.
4 Y do thankyngis to my God eueremore for you, in the grace of God that is youun to you in Crist Jhesu.
Ninamshukuru Mungu siku zote kwa ajili yenu kwa sababu ya neema yake mliyopewa katika Kristo Yesu.
5 For in alle thingis ye ben maad riche in hym, in ech word, and in ech kunnyng,
Kwa kuwa katika Kristo mmetajirishwa kwa kila hali, katika kusema kwenu na katika maarifa yenu yote,
6 as the witnessyng of Crist is confermyd in you;
kwa sababu ushuhuda wetu kumhusu Kristo ulithibitishwa ndani yenu.
7 so that no thing faile to you in ony grace, that abiden the schewyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist;
Kwa hiyo hamkupungukiwa na karama yoyote ya kiroho wakati mnangoja kwa shauku kudhihirishwa kwa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.
8 which also schal conferme you in to the ende with outen cryme, in the dai of the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
Atawafanya imara mpaka mwisho, ili msiwe na hatia siku ile ya Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.
9 `A trewe God, bi whom ye ben clepid in to the felouschipe of his sone Jhesu Crist oure Lord.
Mungu ambaye mmeitwa naye ili mwe na ushirika na Mwanawe Yesu Kristo, Bwana wetu ni mwaminifu.
10 But, britheren, Y biseche you, bi the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, that ye alle seie the same thing, and that dissenciouns be not among you; but be ye perfit in the same wit, and in the same kunnyng.
Nawasihi ndugu zangu, katika Jina la Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo, kwamba mpatane nia zenu ninyi kwa ninyi, ili pasiwepo na matengano katikati yenu na kwamba mwe na umoja kikamilifu katika nia na katika kusudi.
11 For, my britheren, it is teld to me of hem that ben at Cloes, that stryues ben among you.
Ndugu zangu, nimepata habari kutoka kwa baadhi ya watu wa nyumbani mwa Kloe kwamba kuna magomvi katikati yenu.
12 And Y seie that, that ech of you seith, For Y am of Poul, and Y am of Apollo, and Y am of Cefas, but Y am of Crist.
Maana yangu ni kwamba: Mmoja wenu husema, “Mimi ni wa Paulo”; mwingine, “Mimi ni wa Apolo”; mwingine, “Mimi ni wa Kefa,” na mwingine, “Mimi ni wa Kristo.”
13 Whether Crist is departid? whether Poul was crucified for you, ether ye ben baptisid in the name of Poul?
Je, Kristo amegawanyika? Je, Paulo ndiye alisulubishwa kwa ajili yenu? Je, mlibatizwa kwa jina la Paulo?
14 Y do thankyngis to my God, that Y baptiside noon of you, but Crispus and Gayus;
Nashukuru kwamba sikumbatiza mtu yeyote isipokuwa Krispo na Gayo.
15 lest ony man seie, that ye ben baptisid in my name.
Kwa hiyo hakuna mtu yeyote anayeweza kusema kwamba alibatizwa kwa jina langu.
16 And Y baptiside also the hous of Stephan, but Y woot not, that Y baptiside ony other.
(Naam, niliwabatiza pia watu wa nyumbani mwa Stefana. Lakini zaidi ya hao sijui kama nilimbatiza mtu mwingine yeyote.)
17 For Crist sente me not to baptise, but to preche the gospel; not in wisdom of word, that the cros of Crist be not voidid awei.
Kwa maana Kristo hakunituma ili kubatiza bali kuhubiri Injili; sio kwa maneno ya hekima ya kibinadamu, ili msalaba wa Kristo usije ukakosa nguvu yake.
18 For the word of the cros is foli to hem that perischen; but to hem that ben maad saaf, that is to seie, to vs, it is the vertu of God.
Kwa maana ujumbe wa msalaba kwa wale wanaopotea ni upuzi, lakini kwetu sisi tunaookolewa ni nguvu ya Mungu.
19 For it is writun, Y schal distruye the wisdom of wise men, and Y schal reproue the prudence of prudent men.
Kwa maana imeandikwa: “Nitaiharibu hekima ya wenye hekima, na kubatilisha akili ya wenye akili.”
20 Where is the wise man? where is the wise lawiere? where is the purchasour of this world? Whether God hath not maad the wisdom of this world fonned? (aiōn g165)
Yuko wapi mwenye hekima? Yuko wapi msomi? Yuko wapi mwanafalsafa wa nyakati hizi? Je, Mungu hakufanya hekima ya ulimwengu huu kuwa upumbavu? (aiōn g165)
21 For the world in wisdom of God knewe not God bi wisdom, it pleside to God, bi foli of prechyng, `to maken hem saaf that bileueden.
Kwa kuwa katika hekima ya Mungu, ulimwengu kwa hekima yake haukumjua yeye, ilimpendeza Mungu kuwaokoa wale walioamini kwa upuzi wa lile neno lililohubiriwa.
22 For Jewis seken signes, and Grekis seken wisdom;
Wayahudi wanadai ishara za miujiza na Wayunani wanatafuta hekima.
23 but we prechen Crist crucified, to Jewis sclaundre, and to hethene men foli;
Lakini sisi tunamhubiri Kristo aliyesulubiwa: yeye kwa Wayahudi ni kikwazo na kwa Wayunani ni upuzi.
24 but to tho Jewis and Grekis that ben clepid, we prechen Crist the vertu of God and the wisdom of God.
Lakini kwa wale ambao Mungu amewaita, Wayahudi na pia Wayunani, Kristo ndiye nguvu ya Mungu na pia hekima ya Mungu.
25 For that that is foli thing of God, is wiser than men; and that that is the feble thing of God, is strengere than men.
Kwa maana upumbavu wa Mungu una hekima zaidi kuliko hekima ya wanadamu, nao udhaifu wa Mungu una nguvu kuliko nguvu ya wanadamu.
26 But, britheren, se ye youre clepyng; for not many wise men aftir the fleisch, not many myyti, not many noble.
Ndugu zangu, kumbukeni mlivyokuwa mlipoitwa. Kwa kipimo cha kibinadamu, si wengi wenu mliokuwa na hekima. Si wengi mliokuwa na ushawishi, si wengi mliozaliwa katika jamaa zenye vyeo.
27 But God chees tho thingis that ben fonned of the world, to confounde wise men;
Lakini Mungu alivichagua vitu vipumbavu vya ulimwengu ili awaaibishe wenye hekima, Mungu alivichagua vitu dhaifu vya ulimwengu ili awaaibishe wenye nguvu.
28 and God chees the feble thingis of the world, to confounde the stronge thingis; and God chees the vnnoble thingis `and dispisable thingis of the world, and tho thingis that ben not, to distruye tho thingis that ben;
Alivichagua vitu vya chini na vinavyodharauliwa vya dunia hii, vitu ambavyo haviko, ili avibatilishe vile vilivyoko,
29 that ech man haue not glorie in his siyt.
ili mtu yeyote asijisifu mbele zake.
30 But of hym ye ben in Crist Jhesu, which is maad of God to vs wisdom, and riytwisnesse, and holynesse, and ayenbiyng; that,
Bali kwa yeye ninyi mmepata kuwa katika Kristo Yesu, aliyefanyika kwetu hekima itokayo kwa Mungu, yaani haki, na utakatifu na ukombozi.
31 as it is wrytun, He that glorieth, haue glorie in the Lord.
Hivyo, kama ilivyoandikwa: “Yeye ajisifuye na ajisifu katika Bwana.”
