1 Corinthians 1
1 Poul, clepid apostle of Jhesu Crist, bi the wille of God, and Sostenes, brothir, to the chirche of God that is at Corynthe,
Paulus, een geroepen apostel van Jezus Christus, door den wil van God, en Sosthenes, de broeder,
2 to hem that ben halewid in Crist Jhesu, and clepid seyntis, with alle that inwardli clepen the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, in ech place of hem and of oure,
Aan de Gemeente Gods, die te Korinthe is, den geheiligden in Christus Jezus, den geroepenen heiligen, met allen, die den Naam van onzen Heere Jezus Christus aanroepen in alle plaats, beide hun en onzen Heere;
3 grace to you and pees of God, oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.
Genade zij u en vrede van God onzen Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus.
4 Y do thankyngis to my God eueremore for you, in the grace of God that is youun to you in Crist Jhesu.
Ik dank mijn God allen tijd over u, vanwege de genade Gods, die u gegeven is in Christus Jezus;
5 For in alle thingis ye ben maad riche in hym, in ech word, and in ech kunnyng,
Dat gij in alles rijk zijt geworden in Hem, in alle rede en alle kennis;
6 as the witnessyng of Crist is confermyd in you;
Gelijk de getuigenis van Christus bevestigd is onder u;
7 so that no thing faile to you in ony grace, that abiden the schewyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist;
Alzo dat het u aan gene gave ontbreekt, verwachtende de openbaring van onzen Heere Jezus Christus.
8 which also schal conferme you in to the ende with outen cryme, in the dai of the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
Welke God u ook zal bevestigen tot het einde toe, om onstraffelijk te zijn in den dag van onzen Heere Jezus Christus.
9 `A trewe God, bi whom ye ben clepid in to the felouschipe of his sone Jhesu Crist oure Lord.
God is getrouw, door Welken gij geroepen zijt tot de gemeenschap van Zijn Zoon Jezus Christus, onzen Heere.
10 But, britheren, Y biseche you, bi the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, that ye alle seie the same thing, and that dissenciouns be not among you; but be ye perfit in the same wit, and in the same kunnyng.
Maar ik bid u, broeders, door den Naam van onzen Heere Jezus Christus, dat gij allen hetzelfde spreekt, en dat onder u geen scheuringen zijn, maar dat gij samengevoegd zijt in eenzelfden zin, en in een zelfde gevoelen.
11 For, my britheren, it is teld to me of hem that ben at Cloes, that stryues ben among you.
Want mij is van u bekend gemaakt, mijn broeders, door die van het huisgezin van Chloe zijn, dat er twisten onder u zijn.
12 And Y seie that, that ech of you seith, For Y am of Poul, and Y am of Apollo, and Y am of Cefas, but Y am of Crist.
En dit zeg ik, dat een iegelijk van u zegt: Ik ben van Paulus, en ik van Apollos; en ik van Cefas; en ik van Christus.
13 Whether Crist is departid? whether Poul was crucified for you, ether ye ben baptisid in the name of Poul?
Is Christus gedeeld? Is Paulus voor u gekruist? Of zijt gij in Paulus naam gedoopt?
14 Y do thankyngis to my God, that Y baptiside noon of you, but Crispus and Gayus;
Ik dank God, dat ik niemand van ulieden gedoopt heb, dan Krispus en Gajus;
15 lest ony man seie, that ye ben baptisid in my name.
Opdat niet iemand zegge, dat ik in mijn naam gedoopt heb.
16 And Y baptiside also the hous of Stephan, but Y woot not, that Y baptiside ony other.
Doch ik heb ook het huisgezin van Stefanus gedoopt; voorts weet ik niet, of ik iemand anders gedoopt heb.
17 For Crist sente me not to baptise, but to preche the gospel; not in wisdom of word, that the cros of Crist be not voidid awei.
Want Christus heeft mij niet gezonden, om te dopen, maar om het Evangelie te verkondigen; niet met wijsheid van woorden, opdat het kruis van Christus niet verijdeld worde.
18 For the word of the cros is foli to hem that perischen; but to hem that ben maad saaf, that is to seie, to vs, it is the vertu of God.
Want het woord des kruises is wel dengenen, die verloren gaan, dwaasheid; maar ons, die behouden worden, is het een kracht Gods;
19 For it is writun, Y schal distruye the wisdom of wise men, and Y schal reproue the prudence of prudent men.
Want er is geschreven: Ik zal de wijsheid der wijzen doen vergaan, en het verstand der verstandigen zal Ik te niet maken.
20 Where is the wise man? where is the wise lawiere? where is the purchasour of this world? Whether God hath not maad the wisdom of this world fonned? (aiōn g165)
Waar is de wijze? Waar is de schriftgeleerde? Waar is de onderzoeker dezer eeuw? Heeft God de wijsheid dezer wereld niet dwaas gemaakt? (aiōn g165)
21 For the world in wisdom of God knewe not God bi wisdom, it pleside to God, bi foli of prechyng, `to maken hem saaf that bileueden.
Want nademaal, in de wijsheid Gods, de wereld God niet heeft gekend door de wijsheid, zo heeft het Gode behaagd, door de dwaasheid der prediking, zalig te maken, die geloven;
22 For Jewis seken signes, and Grekis seken wisdom;
Overmits de Joden een teken begeren, en de Grieken wijsheid zoeken;
23 but we prechen Crist crucified, to Jewis sclaundre, and to hethene men foli;
Doch wij prediken Christus, den Gekruisigde, den Joden wel een ergernis, en den Grieken een dwaasheid;
24 but to tho Jewis and Grekis that ben clepid, we prechen Crist the vertu of God and the wisdom of God.
Maar hun, die geroepen zijn, beiden Joden en Grieken, prediken wij Christus, de kracht Gods, en de wijsheid Gods.
25 For that that is foli thing of God, is wiser than men; and that that is the feble thing of God, is strengere than men.
Want het dwaze Gods is wijzer dan de mensen; en het zwakke Gods is sterker dan de mensen.
26 But, britheren, se ye youre clepyng; for not many wise men aftir the fleisch, not many myyti, not many noble.
Want gij ziet uw roeping, broeders, dat gij niet vele wijzen zijt naar het vlees, niet vele machtigen, niet vele edelen.
27 But God chees tho thingis that ben fonned of the world, to confounde wise men;
Maar het dwaze der wereld heeft God uitverkoren, opdat Hij de wijzen beschamen zou; en het zwakke der wereld heeft God uitverkoren, opdat Hij het sterke zou beschamen;
28 and God chees the feble thingis of the world, to confounde the stronge thingis; and God chees the vnnoble thingis `and dispisable thingis of the world, and tho thingis that ben not, to distruye tho thingis that ben;
En het onedele der wereld, en het verachte heeft God uitverkoren, en hetgeen niets is, opdat Hij hetgeen iets is, te niet zou maken;
29 that ech man haue not glorie in his siyt.
Opdat geen vlees zou roemen voor Hem.
30 But of hym ye ben in Crist Jhesu, which is maad of God to vs wisdom, and riytwisnesse, and holynesse, and ayenbiyng; that,
Maar uit Hem zijt gij in Christus Jezus, Die ons geworden is wijsheid van God, en rechtvaardigheid, en heiligmaking, en verlossing;
31 as it is wrytun, He that glorieth, haue glorie in the Lord.
Opdat het zij, gelijk geschreven is: Die roemt, roeme in den Heere.
