1 Corinthians 2
1 And Y, britheren, whanne Y cam to you, cam not in the heiynesse of word, ethir of wisdom, tellynge to you the witnessyng of Crist.
Meus irmãos e minhas irmãs, quando eu fui até vocês, não tentei impressioná-los com belas palavras ou uma sabedoria invejável, ao falar do que Deus tinha a dizer a vocês.
2 For Y demede not me to kunne ony thing among you, but Crist Jhesu, and hym crucified.
Eu decidi que, enquanto estivesse com vocês, eu não queria tirar a atenção do que era realmente importante, ou seja, Jesus Cristo e o fato dele ter sido crucificado.
3 And Y in sikenesse, and drede, and myche trembling, was among you;
Eu vim até vocês me sentindo fraco e tremendo de medo.
4 and my word and my preching was not in suteli sturyng wordis of mannus wisdom, but in schewyng of spirit and of vertu;
Eu não falei com vocês usando palavras convincentes de sabedoria para que vocês acreditassem. Eu apenas expliquei tudo a vocês por meio da prova e do poder que o Espírito transmite.
5 that youre feith be not in the wisdom of men, but in the vertu of God.
Assim, a sua fé em Deus não se baseia na sabedoria humana, mas, sim, no poder de Deus.
6 For we speken wisdom among perfit men, but not wisdom of this world, nether of princes of this world, that ben distried; (aiōn g165)
No entanto, devemos usar palavras de sabedoria ao falarmos com aqueles que são espiritualmente maduros, mas não a sabedoria deste mundo ou a sabedoria dos que o governam, pois esses logo saem de cena. (aiōn g165)
7 but we speken the wisdom of God in mysterie, `which wisdom is hid; which wisdom God bifor ordeynede bifor worldis in to oure glorie, (aiōn g165)
Em vez disso, anunciamos a sabedoria de Deus como um mistério revelado, que antes estava oculto e que foi planejado por Deus, desde a eternidade, para a nossa glória. (aiōn g165)
8 which noon of the princes of this world knew; for if thei hadden knowe, thei schulden neuere haue crucified the Lord of glorie. (aiōn g165)
Nenhum dos governantes deste mundo conseguiu compreender o que isso significa. Se por acaso eles tivessem compreendido, o Senhor da glória não teria sido crucificado. (aiōn g165)
9 But as it is writun, That iye say not, ne eere herde, nether it stiede in to herte of man, what thingis God arayede to hem that louen hym;
Mas, como está escrito nas Sagradas Escrituras: “Ninguém jamais conseguiu ver, ouvir e até mesmo imaginar o que Deus preparou para aqueles que o amam.”
10 but God schewide to vs bi his spirit. For whi the spirit serchith alle thingis, yhe, the depe thingis of God.
Mas, Deus revelou isso para nós, por meio do Espírito, pois o Espírito mergulha nas profundezas de Deus.
11 And who of men woot, what thingis ben of man, but the spirit of man that is in hym? So what thingis ben of God, no man knowith, but the spirit of God.
Quem conhece os pensamentos de alguém a não ser a própria pessoa? Da mesma maneira, ninguém conhece os pensamentos de Deus, a não ser o Espírito de Deus.
12 And we han not resseiued the spirit of this world, but the spirit that is of God, that we wite what thingis ben youun to vs of God.
Pois nós recebemos o Espírito de Deus, não o espírito deste mundo, para que possamos entender o que Deus tão generosamente nos deu.
13 Whiche thingis we speken also, not in wise wordis of mannus wisdom, but in the doctryn of the spirit, and maken a liknesse of spiritual thingis to goostli men.
É a respeito disso que nós falamos, não usando palavras ensinadas pela sabedoria humana, mas, sim, os ensinamentos que o Espírito nos traz. Nós explicamos tudo o que é espiritual usando termos espirituais.
14 For a beestli man perseyueth not tho thingis that ben of the spirit of God; for it is foli to hym, and he may not vndurstonde, for it is examyned goostli.
É claro que pessoas que não são espirituais não aceitarão o que vem do Espírito de Deus. Isso não passa de coisas sem sentido para elas. Essas pessoas não conseguem entender, pois o que é espiritual precisa ser entendido da maneira adequada, ou seja, espiritualmente.
15 But a spiritual man demeth alle thingis, and he is demed of no man.
As pessoas que têm o Espírito investigam tudo, mas elas mesmas não são investigadas.
16 As it is writun, And who knew the wit of the Lord, or who tauyte hym? And we han the wit of Crist.
Pois “quem entende a mente do Senhor? Quem acha que poderia orientá-lo?” Mas, nós pensamos como Cristo pensa!
