1 Corinthians 12
1 But of spiritual thingis, britheren, Y nyle that ye vnknowun.
A co do duchowych [darów], bracia, nie chcę, żebyście byli w niewiedzy.
2 For ye witen, that whanne ye weren hethene men, hou ye weren led goynge to doumbe maumetis.
Wiecie, że gdy byliście poganami, do niemych bożków, jak was wiedziono, [daliście się] prowadzić.
3 Therfor Y make knowun to you, that no man spekynge in the spirit of God, seith departyng fro Jhesu; and no man may seie the Lord Jhesu, but in the Hooli Goost.
Dlatego oznajmiam wam, że nikt, kto mówi przez Ducha Bożego, nie powie, że Jezus jest przeklęty. Nikt też nie może powiedzieć, że Jezus jest Panem, jak tylko przez Ducha Świętego.
4 And dyuerse graces ther ben, but it is al oon Spirit;
A różne są dary, lecz ten sam Duch.
5 and dyuerse seruyces ther ben, but it is al oon Lord; and dyuerse worchingis ther ben,
Różne też są posługi, lecz ten sam Pan.
6 but `al is oon God, that worchith alle thingis in alle thingis.
I różne są działania, lecz ten sam Bóg, który sprawia wszystko we wszystkich.
7 And to ech man the schewyng of spirit is youun to profit. The word of wisdom is youun to oon bi spirit;
A każdemu jest dany przejaw Ducha dla [wspólnego] pożytku.
8 to another the word of kunnyng, bi the same spirit;
Jednemu bowiem przez Ducha jest dana mowa mądrości, drugiemu mowa wiedzy przez tego samego Ducha;
9 feith to another, in the same spirit; to anothere, grace of helthis, in o spirit;
Innemu wiara w tym samym Duchu, innemu dar uzdrawiania w tym samym Duchu;
10 to another, the worchyng of vertues; to another, profecie; to another, very knowyng of spiritis; to another, kyndis of langagis; to another, expownyng of wordis.
Innemu [dar] czynienia cudów, innemu proroctwo, innemu rozróżnianie duchów, innemu różne [rodzaje] języków, a innemu tłumaczenie języków.
11 And oon and the same spirit worchith alle these thingis, departynge to ech bi hem silf as he wole.
A to wszystko sprawia jeden i ten sam Duch, udzielając każdemu z osobna, jak chce.
12 For as ther is o body, and hath many membris, and alle the membris of the bodi whanne tho ben manye, ben o bodi, so also Crist.
Jak bowiem ciało jest jedno, a członków ma wiele i wszystkie członki jednego ciała, choć jest ich wiele, są jednym ciałem, tak i Chrystus.
13 For in o spirit alle we ben baptisid `in to o bodi, ether Jewis, ether hethene, ether seruauntis, ether free; and alle we ben fillid with drink in o spirit.
Bo wszyscy przez jednego Ducha zostaliśmy ochrzczeni w jedno ciało, czy to Żydzi, czy Grecy, czy niewolnicy, czy wolni, i wszyscy zostaliśmy napojeni w jednego Ducha.
14 For the bodi is not o membre, but manye.
Ciało bowiem nie jest jednym członkiem, ale wieloma.
15 If the foot seith, For Y am not the hoond, Y am not of the bodi; not therfor it is not of the bodi.
Gdyby noga powiedziała: Ponieważ nie jestem ręką, nie należę do ciała – czy dlatego nie należy do ciała?
16 And if the ere seith, For Y am not the iye, Y am not of the bodi; not therfor it is not of the bodi.
A gdyby ucho powiedziało: Ponieważ nie jestem okiem, nie należę do ciała – czy dlatego nie należy do ciała?
17 If al the bodi is the iye, where is heryng? and if al the bodi is heryng, where is smellyng?
Gdyby całe ciało było okiem, gdzież [byłby] słuch? A gdyby całe [było] słuchem, gdzież powonienie?
18 But now God hath set membris, and ech of hem in the bodi, as he wolde.
Lecz Bóg umieścił członki w ciele, każdy z nich tak, jak chciał.
19 That if alle weren o membre, where were the bodi?
Gdyby wszystkie były jednym członkiem, gdzież byłoby ciało?
20 But now ther ben many membris, but o bodi.
Tymczasem wiele jest członków, lecz jedno ciało.
21 And the iye may not seie to the hond, Y haue no nede to thi werkis; or eft the heed to the feet, Ye ben not necessarie to me.
Nie może więc oko powiedzieć ręce: Nie potrzebuję ciebie, albo głowa nogom: Nie potrzebuję was.
22 But myche more tho that ben seyn to be the lowere membris of the bodi, ben more nedeful;
Przeciwnie, o wiele bardziej potrzebne są te członki ciała, które wydają się najsłabsze.
23 and thilke that we gessen to be the vnworthier membris of the bodi, we yyuen more honour `to hem; and tho membris that ben vnonest, han more oneste.
A te, które uważamy za mało godne szacunku, tym większym otaczamy szacunkiem, a nasze wstydliwe [członki] otrzymują większe poszanowanie.
24 For oure oneste membris han nede of noon; but God tempride the bodi, yyuynge more worschip to it, to whom it failide,
Natomiast nasze przyzwoite członki tego nie potrzebują. Lecz Bóg tak ukształtował ciało, że dał [członkowi], któremu brakuje [czci], więcej szacunku;
25 that debate be not in the bodi, but that the membris be bisi in to the same thing ech for othere.
Aby nie było podziału w ciele, ale żeby członki jednakowo troszczyły się o siebie nawzajem.
26 And if o membre suffrith ony thing, alle membris suffren therwith; ethir if o membre ioieth, alle membris ioien togidere.
Tak więc, jeśli jeden członek cierpi, cierpią z nim wszystkie członki, a jeśli jeden członek doznaje czci, radują się z nim wszystkie członki.
27 And ye ben the bodi of Crist, and membris of membre.
Wy zaś jesteście ciałem Chrystusa, a z osobna członkami.
28 But God sette sum men in the chirche, fyrst apostlis, the secunde tyme prophetis, the thridde techeris, aftirward vertues, aftirward graces of heelyngis, helpyngis, gouernails, kyndis of langagis, interpretaciouns of wordis.
A Bóg ustanowił niektórych w kościele najpierw [jako] apostołów, potem proroków, po trzecie nauczycieli, potem cudotwórców, potem dary uzdrawiania, niesienia pomocy, rządzenia, różne języki.
29 Whether alle apostlis? whethir alle prophetis? whether alle techeris? whether alle vertues?
Czy wszyscy są apostołami? Czy wszyscy prorokami? Czy wszyscy nauczycielami? Czy wszyscy cudotwórcami?
30 whether alle men han grace of heelyngis? whether alle speken with langagis? whether alle expownen?
Czy wszyscy mają dary uzdrawiania? Czy wszyscy mówią językami? Czy wszyscy tłumaczą?
31 But sue ye the betere goostli yiftis. And yit Y schewe to you a more exellent weye.
Starajcie się usilnie o lepsze dary; a ja wam wskażę drogę jeszcze doskonalszą.
