1 Corinthians 1
1 Poul, clepid apostle of Jhesu Crist, bi the wille of God, and Sostenes, brothir, to the chirche of God that is at Corynthe,
Eu, Paulo, chamado por Deus para ser apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, junto com o nosso irmão Sóstenes, escrevemos esta carta
2 to hem that ben halewid in Crist Jhesu, and clepid seyntis, with alle that inwardli clepen the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, in ech place of hem and of oure,
para a igreja de Deus em Corinto, para aqueles que se tornam justos em Cristo Jesus, chamados para serem santos e para todos os que louvam o Senhor Jesus Cristo, Senhor tanto deles quanto nosso, em todo o mundo.
3 grace to you and pees of God, oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.
Que a graça e a paz de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo estejam com vocês.
4 Y do thankyngis to my God eueremore for you, in the grace of God that is youun to you in Crist Jhesu.
Eu sempre agradeço a Deus por vocês, por causa da graça que ele lhes deu, em Cristo Jesus.
5 For in alle thingis ye ben maad riche in hym, in ech word, and in ech kunnyng,
Por meio dele, vocês se tornaram ricos em tudo, em tudo o que vocês dizem e em tudo o que sabem.
6 as the witnessyng of Crist is confermyd in you;
De fato, a mensagem sobre Cristo se provou tão válida nas suas vidas
7 so that no thing faile to you in ony grace, that abiden the schewyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist;
que vocês continuam a receber todos os dons espirituais, enquanto esperam pela vinda do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
8 which also schal conferme you in to the ende with outen cryme, in the dai of the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
Ele também os manterá fortes até o fim, para que vocês se mantenham justos até o dia da chegada do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
9 `A trewe God, bi whom ye ben clepid in to the felouschipe of his sone Jhesu Crist oure Lord.
Deus é fiel e chamou vocês para que se unam ao seu Filho, Jesus Cristo, o nosso Senhor.
10 But, britheren, Y biseche you, bi the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, that ye alle seie the same thing, and that dissenciouns be not among you; but be ye perfit in the same wit, and in the same kunnyng.
Irmãos e irmãs, eu suplico a vocês, em nome do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que todos vivam em acordo e que não haja divisões entre vocês. E que, pelo contrário, sejam unidos e tenham o mesmo propósito.
11 For, my britheren, it is teld to me of hem that ben at Cloes, that stryues ben among you.
Pois ouvi coisas sobre vocês, meus irmãos e minhas irmãs, ditas por algumas pessoas da família de Cloé, de que está havendo discussões entre vocês.
12 And Y seie that, that ech of you seith, For Y am of Poul, and Y am of Apollo, and Y am of Cefas, but Y am of Crist.
Deixem que eu explique o que quero dizer: Vocês andam dizendo: “Eu sigo Paulo”, ou “Eu sigo Apolo” e outro “Eu sigo Pedro”, ou “Eu sigo Cristo.”
13 Whether Crist is departid? whether Poul was crucified for you, ether ye ben baptisid in the name of Poul?
Será que Cristo está dividido? Por acaso, Paulo morreu preso a uma cruz por vocês? Foi em nome de Paulo que vocês foram batizados?
14 Y do thankyngis to my God, that Y baptiside noon of you, but Crispus and Gayus;
Estou agradecido a Deus pelo fato de não ter batizado vocês, a não ser Crispo e Gaio.
15 lest ony man seie, that ye ben baptisid in my name.
Pois assim, ninguém pode afirmar que foi batizado em meu nome.
16 And Y baptiside also the hous of Stephan, but Y woot not, that Y baptiside ony other.
Ah, eu também batizei a família de Estéfanas; mas não consigo me lembrar de mais ninguém além desses.
17 For Crist sente me not to baptise, but to preche the gospel; not in wisdom of word, that the cros of Crist be not voidid awei.
Pois Cristo não me enviou para batizar e, sim, para anunciar a boas novas, sem usar para isso a linguagem da sabedoria humana, para que, assim, a morte de Cristo na cruz não perdesse o seu poder.
18 For the word of the cros is foli to hem that perischen; but to hem that ben maad saaf, that is to seie, to vs, it is the vertu of God.
Pois a mensagem da cruz não faz sentido para aqueles que estão perdidos, mas é o poder de Deus para aqueles entre nós que estão salvos.
19 For it is writun, Y schal distruye the wisdom of wise men, and Y schal reproue the prudence of prudent men.
Como está escrito nas Sagradas Escrituras: “Destruirei a sabedoria dos sábios e acabarei com a inteligência dos inteligentes.”
20 Where is the wise man? where is the wise lawiere? where is the purchasour of this world? Whether God hath not maad the wisdom of this world fonned? (aiōn g165)
Onde estão os sábios, os escritores e os filósofos desta época? Porventura, Deus não transformou a sabedoria deste mundo em loucura? (aiōn g165)
21 For the world in wisdom of God knewe not God bi wisdom, it pleside to God, bi foli of prechyng, `to maken hem saaf that bileueden.
Pois Deus, em toda a sua sabedoria, não permitiu que as pessoas do mundo, com a sabedoria que possuem, o conhecessem. Mas, é por meio da, assim chamada, loucura do anúncio das boas novas que Deus salva aqueles que têm fé nele.
22 For Jewis seken signes, and Grekis seken wisdom;
Os judeus pedem por sinais milagrosos, e os gregos buscam sabedoria,
23 but we prechen Crist crucified, to Jewis sclaundre, and to hethene men foli;
mas a nossa mensagem é a de Cristo morto em uma cruz, que se mostra como uma ofensa para os judeus e como loucura para os não-judeus.
24 but to tho Jewis and Grekis that ben clepid, we prechen Crist the vertu of God and the wisdom of God.
No entanto, para as pessoas que são chamadas por Deus, sejam elas judias ou pagãs, Cristo é o poder e a sabedoria de Deus.
25 For that that is foli thing of God, is wiser than men; and that that is the feble thing of God, is strengere than men.
Pois a loucura de Deus é mais sábia do que a nossa sabedoria, e a fraqueza de Deus é mais forte do que a força humana.
26 But, britheren, se ye youre clepyng; for not many wise men aftir the fleisch, not many myyti, not many noble.
Irmãos e irmãs, lembrem-se de quando foram chamados. Lembrem-se de que este chamado não incluiu muitos dos que são considerados pela humanidade como sábios, poderosos ou importantes.
27 But God chees tho thingis that ben fonned of the world, to confounde wise men;
Pelo contrário, Deus escolheu as coisas que o mundo considera loucas para humilhar as pessoas que se acham sábias. Ele escolheu o que é considerado pelo mundo como fraco para humilhar aqueles que se acham fortes.
28 and God chees the feble thingis of the world, to confounde the stronge thingis; and God chees the vnnoble thingis `and dispisable thingis of the world, and tho thingis that ben not, to distruye tho thingis that ben;
Ele escolheu coisas que o mundo não considera importantes e as quais despreza, mesmo coisas que não são importantes, para reduzir a nada as coisas que são.
29 that ech man haue not glorie in his siyt.
Assim, ninguém poderá se vangloriar diante de Deus.
30 But of hym ye ben in Crist Jhesu, which is maad of God to vs wisdom, and riytwisnesse, and holynesse, and ayenbiyng; that,
É por causa de Deus que vocês vivem em Cristo Jesus, dado por Deus a nós, para ser a nossa sabedoria. Ele nos torna justos e nos liberta.
31 as it is wrytun, He that glorieth, haue glorie in the Lord.
Então, como as Sagradas Escrituras dizem: “Quem quiser se orgulhar, que se orgulhe das ações do Senhor.”
