1 Chronicles 20
1 Forsothe it was doon after the ende of a yeer, in that tyme wherinne kyngis ben wont to go forth to batels, Joab gederide the oost, and the strengthe of chyualrie, and he wastide the lond of the sones of Amon, and yede, and bisegide Rabath; forsothe Dauid dwellide in Jerusalem, whanne Joab smoot Rabath, and distriede it.
Y ACONTECIÓ á la vuelta del año, en el tiempo que suelen los reyes salir [á la guerra], que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército, y destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Ammón, y vino y cercó á Rabba. Mas David estaba en Jerusalem: y Joab batió á Rabba, y destruyóla.
2 Forsothe Dauid took the coroun of Melchon fro his heed, and foond therynne the weiyt of gold a talent, and moost precious iemmes, and he made therof a diademe to hym silf; also he took ful many spuylis of the citee.
Y tomó David la corona de su rey de encima de su cabeza, y hallóla de peso de un talento de oro, y había en ella piedras preciosas; y fué puesta sobre la cabeza de David. Y además de esto sacó de la ciudad un muy gran despojo.
3 Sotheli he ledde out the puple that was therynne, and made breris, `ethir instrumentis bi whiche cornes ben brokun, and sleddis, and irone charis, to passe on hem, so that alle men weren kit in to dyuerse partis, and weren al to-brokun; Dauid dide thus to alle the `cytees of the sones of Amon, and turnede ayen with al his puple in to Jerusalem.
Sacó también al pueblo que [estaba] en ella, y cortólos con sierras, y con trillos de hierro, y segures. Lo mismo hizo David á todas las ciudades de los hijos de Ammón. Y volvióse David con todo el pueblo á Jerusalem.
4 Aftir these thingis a batel was maad in Gazer ayens Filisteis, wherynne Sobochai Vsachites slow Saphai of the kyn of Raphym, and mekide hem.
Después de esto aconteció que se levantó guerra en Gezer con los Filisteos; é hirió Sibbecai Husathita á Sippai, del linaje de los gigantes; y fueron humillados.
5 Also another batel was don ayens Filisteis, in which a man youun of God, the sone of forest, a man of Bethleem, killide Goliath of Geth, the brother of giauntis, of whos schaft the tre was as the beem of webbis.
Y volvióse á levantar guerra con los Filisteos; é hirió Elhanán hijo de Jair á Lahmi, hermano de Goliath Getheo, el asta de cuya lanza era como un enjullo de tejedores.
6 But also another batel bifelde in Geth, in which a ful long man was, hauynge sixe fyngris, that is, togidere foure and twenti, and he was gendrid of the generacioun of Raphaym;
Y volvió á haber guerra en Gath, donde hubo un hombre de grande estatura, el cual tenía seis dedos [en pies y manos], [en todos] veinticuatro: y también era hijo de Rapha.
7 he blasfemyde Israel, and Jonathan, the sone of Samaa, brother of Dauid, killide hym.
Denostó él á Israel, mas hiriólo Jonathán, hijo de Sima hermano de David.
8 These ben the sones of Raphaym in Geth, that felden doun in the hond of Dauid and of hise seruauntis.
Estos fueron hijos de Rapha en Gath, los cuales cayeron por mano de David y de sus siervos.
