1 Chronicles 14
1 And Iram, the kyng of Tyre, sente messageris to Dauid, and `he sente trees of cedre, and werk men of wallis and of trees, that thei schulden bilde to hym an hows.
Și Hiram, împăratul Tirului, a trimis la David mesageri și lemnărie de cedru, cu pietrari și tâmplari, pentru a-i construi o casă.
2 And Dauid knewe that the Lord hadde confermyd hym in to kyng on Israel; and that his rewme was reisid on his puple Israel.
Și David a înțeles că DOMNUL l-a întărit împărat peste Israel, fiindcă împărăția sa a fost ridicată pe înălțimi, din cauza poporului său Israel.
3 And Dauid took othere wyues in Jerusalem, and gendride sones and douytris.
Și David și-a luat mai multe soții la Ierusalim: și David a născut mai mulți fii și fiice.
4 And these ben the names of hem that weren borun to hym in Jerusalem; Sammu, and Sobab, Nathan, and Salomon,
Și acestea sunt numele copiilor lui pe care i-a avut în Ierusalim: pe Șamua și pe Șobab, pe Natan și pe Solomon,
5 Jeber, and Elisu, and Heli, and Eliphalech,
Și pe Ibhar și pe Elișua și pe Elpelet,
6 and Noga, and Napheg, and Japhie,
Și pe Noga și pe Nefeg și pe Iafia,
7 and Elisama, and Baliada, and Eliphelech.
Și pe Elișama și pe Beeliada și pe Elifelet.
8 Forsothe the Filisteis herden that Dauid was anoyntid `in to kyng on al Israel, and alle stieden to seke Dauid. And whanne Dauid hadde herd this thing, he yede out ayens hem.
Și când filistenii au auzit că David a fost uns împărat peste întregul Israel, toți filistenii s-au urcat să îl caute pe David. Și David a auzit și a ieșit împotriva lor.
9 Forsothe Filisteis camen, and weren spred abrood in the valey of Raphaym;
Și filistenii au venit și s-au întins în valea lui Refaim.
10 and Dauid counselide the Lord, and seide, Whether Y schal stie to Filisteis? and whether thou schalt bitake hem in to myn hondis? And the Lord seide to hym, Stie thou, and Y schal bitake hem in thin hond.
Și David a cerut sfat de la Dumnezeu, spunând: Să mă urc împotriva filistenilor; îi vei da în mâna mea? Și DOMNUL i-a spus: Urcă-te; căci îi voi da în mâna ta.
11 And whanne thei hadden styed in to Baal Pharasym, Dauid smoot hem there, and seide, God hath departid myn enemyes bi myn hond, as watris ben departid. And therfor the name of that place was clepid Baal Pharasym; and thei leften there her goddis,
Astfel s-au urcat la Baal-Perațim; și David i-a lovit acolo. Atunci David a spus: Dumnezeu s-a năpustit asupra dușmanilor mei prin mâna mea ca năpustirea apelor, de aceea au pus acelui loc numele, Baal-Perațim.
12 which Dauid comaundide to be brent.
Și ei și-au lăsat dumnezeii acolo, iar David a dat poruncă și au fost arși cu foc.
13 Forsothe another tyme Filisteis felden in, and weren spred abrood in the valei;
Și filistenii s-au întins din nou în vale.
14 and eft Dauid counseilide the Lord, and the Lord seide to hym, Thou schalt not stie aftir hem; go awei fro hem, and thou schalt come ayens hem euen ayens the pere trees.
De aceea David a cerut din nou, sfat de la Dumnezeu; și Dumnezeu i-a spus: Nu te urca după ei; întoarce-te de la ei și vino asupra lor de partea opusă, a duzilor.
15 And whanne thou schalt here the sowun of a goere in the cop of the pere trees, thanne thou schalt go out to batel; for the Lord is go out byfor thee, to smyte the castels of Filisteis.
Și va fi, când vei auzi un foșnit de pași în vârful duzilor, atunci să ieși la bătălie, fiindcă Dumnezeu a ieșit înaintea ta pentru a lovi oastea filistenilor.
16 Therfor Dauid dide as God comaundide to hym, and he smoot the castels of Filisteis fro Gabaon `til to Gazara.
David de aceea a făcut precum Dumnezeu îi poruncise, și au lovit oastea filistenilor de la Gabaon chiar până la Ghezer.
17 And the name of Dauid was puplischid in alle cuntreis, and the Lord yaf his drede on alle folkis.
Și faima lui David s-a răspândit în toate țările; și DOMNUL a adus frica de el asupra tuturor națiunilor.
