1 Therfor al Israel was gaderid to Dauid in Ebron, and seide, We ben thi boon and thi fleisch;

Lalu berkumpullah seluruh Israel kepada Daud di Hebron dan berkata: "Ketahuilah, kami ini darah dagingmu.

2 also yisterdai and the thridde dai ago, whanne Saul regnede yit on Israel, thou it were that leddist out and leddist in Israel; for `thi Lord God seide to thee, Thou schalt fede my puple Israel, and thou schalt be prince on it.

Telah lama, ketika Saul memerintah, engkaulah yang memimpin segala gerakan orang Israel. Dan TUHAN, Allahmu, telah berfirman kepadamu: Engkaulah yang harus menggembalakan umat-Ku Israel, dan engkaulah yang menjadi raja atas umat-Ku Israel."

3 Therfor alle the gretter in birthe of Israel camen to the kyng in Ebron; and Dauid maad with hem a boond of pees bifor the Lord, and thei anoyntiden hym kyng on Israel, bi the word of the Lord, which he spak in the hond of Samuel.

Maka datanglah semua tua-tua Israel menghadap raja di Hebron, lalu Daud mengadakan perjanjian dengan mereka di Hebron di hadapan TUHAN, kemudian mereka mengurapi Daud menjadi raja atas Israel, seperti yang difirmankan TUHAN dengan perantaraan Samuel.

4 Therfor Dauid yede, and al Israel, in to Jerusalem; this Jerusalem is Jebus, where Jebuseis enhabiteris of the lond weren.

Lalu Daud dengan seluruh orang Israel pergi ke Yerusalem; itulah Yebus, dan di sana orang Yebus adalah penduduk negeri itu.

5 And thei that dwelliden at Jebus seiden to Dauid, Thou schalt not entre hidur. Forsothe Dauid took the hiy tour of Syon, which is the citee of Dauid;

Penduduk Yebus berkata kepada Daud: "Engkau tidak sanggup masuk ke mari." Tetapi Daud merebut kubu pertahanan Sion, yaitu kota Daud.

6 and he seide, Ech man that `sleeth first Jebusei, schal be prince and duyk. Therfor Joab, sone of Saruye, stiede first, and was maad prince.

Daud telah berkata: "Siapa lebih dahulu memukul kalah orang Yebus, ia akan menjadi kepala dan pemimpin." Lalu Yoab, anak Zeruya, yang menyerang lebih dahulu, maka ia menjadi kepala.

7 Sotheli Dauid dwellide in the hiy tour, and therfor it was clepid the cytee of Dauid;

Lalu Daud menetap di kubu pertahanan itu, sebab itu orang menamainya: Kota Daud.

8 and he bildide the citee in cumpas fro Mello til to the cumpas; forsothe Joab bildide the tother part of the citee.

Ia memperkuat kota itu sekelilingnya, mulai dari Milo, bahkan sekelilingnya seluruhnya, sedang Yoab membangun kembali selebihnya dari kota itu.

9 And Dauid profitide goynge and wexynge, and the Lord of oostis was with hym.

Lalu makin lama makin besarlah kuasa Daud, sebab TUHAN semesta alam menyertainya.

10 These ben the princes of the stronge men of Dauid, that helpiden hym, that he schulde be kyng on al Israel, bi the word of the Lord which he spak to Israel.

Inilah kepala-kepala para pahlawan yang mengiringi Daud, yang telah memberi dukungan yang kuat kepadanya, bersama-sama seluruh Israel, dalam mencapai kedudukan raja dan yang mengangkat dia sebagai raja, seperti yang difirmankan TUHAN mengenai Israel.

11 And this is the noumbre of the stronge men of Dauid; Jesbaam, the sone of Achamony, was prince among thretti; this reiside his schaft ethir spere on thre hundrid woundid men in o tyme.

Inilah daftar para pahlawan yang mengiringi Daud: Yasobam bin Hakhmoni, kepala triwira; ia mengayunkan tombaknya melawan tiga ratus orang yang tertikam mati dalam satu pertempuran.

12 And after hym was Eleazar, the sone of his fadris brothir, and was `a man of Ahoit, which Eleazar was among thre miyti men.

Dan sesudah dia, Eleazar anak Dodo, orang Ahohi itu; ia termasuk ketiga pahlawan itu.

13 This was with Dauid in Aphesdomyn, whanne Filisteis weren gaderid to o place in to batel; and a feeld of that cuntrey was ful of barli, and the puple fledde fro the face of Filisteis.

Ia ada bersama-sama Daud di Pas-Damim, ketika orang Filistin berkumpul di sana untuk berperang. Ada sebidang tanah ladang penuh jelai di sana; ketika tentara melarikan diri dari hadapan orang Filistin,

14 This Eleazar stood in the myddis of the feeld, and defendide it; and whanne he hadde slayn Filisteis, the Lord yaf greet helthe to his puple.

maka berdirilah mereka di tengah-tengah ladang itu; mereka dapat mempertahankannya dan memukul kalah orang Filistin. Demikianlah diberikan TUHAN kemenangan yang besar.

15 Sotheli thre of thritti princes yeden doun to the stoon, wher ynne Dauid was, to the denne of Odolla, whanne Filisteis settiden tentis in the valey of Raphaym.

Sekali datanglah tiga orang dari ketiga puluh kepala ke gunung batu mendapatkan Daud dekat gua Adulam, sedang tentara orang Filistin berkemah di lembah Refaim.

16 Forsothe Dauid was in a strong hold, and the stacioun, `that is, the oost gaderid, of Filisteis was in Bethleem.

Pada waktu itu Daud ada di dalam kubu gunung dan pasukan pendudukan orang Filistin pada waktu itu ada di Betlehem.

17 Therfor Dauid desiride watir, and seide, Y wolde, that sum man yaf to me water of the cisterne of Bethleem, which is in the yate.

Lalu timbullah keinginan pada Daud, dan ia berkata: "Sekiranya ada orang yang memberi aku minum air dari perigi Betlehem yang ada dekat pintu gerbang!"

18 Therfor these thre yeden thoruy the myddil of the castelis of Filisteis, and drowen watir of the cisterne of Bethleem, that was in the yate, and thei brouyten to Dauid, that he schulde drynke; and Dauid nolde `drynke it, but rather he offride it to the Lord, and seide, Fer be it,

Lalu ketiga orang itu menerobos perkemahan orang Filistin, mereka menimba air dari perigi Betlehem yang ada dekat pintu gerbang, mengangkatnya dan membawanya kepada Daud. Tetapi Daud tidak mau meminumnya, melainkan mempersembahkannya sebagai korban curahan kepada TUHAN,

19 that Y do this thing in the siyt of my God, and that Y drynke the blood of these men, for in the perel of her lyues thei brouyten watir to me; and for this cause he nolde drynke. Thre strongeste men diden these thingis.

katanya: "Jauhlah dari padaku, ya Allah, untuk berbuat demikian! Patutkah aku meminum darah taruhan nyawa orang-orang ini? Sebab dengan mempertaruhkan nyawanya mereka membawanya." Dan tidak mau ia meminumnya. Itulah yang dilakukan ketiga pahlawan itu.

20 Also Abisai, the brother of Joab, he was the prince of thre men, and he reiside his schaft ayens thre hundrid woundid men; and he was moost named among thre,

Abisai, adik Yoab, dialah kepala ketiga puluh orang itu. Dan dialah yang mengayunkan tombaknya melawan tiga ratus orang yang mati ditikamnya; ia mendapat nama di antara ketiga puluh orang itu.

21 among the secounde thre he was noble, and the prince of hem; netheles he cam not til to the firste thre.

Di antara ketiga puluh orang itu ia paling dihormati. Memang ia menjadi pemimpin mereka, tetapi ia tidak dapat menyamai triwira itu.

22 Banaye, the sone of Joiada, strongest man of Capsael, that dide many werkis; he killide two stronge men of Moab; and he yede doun, and killide a lioun in the myddil of a cisterne, in the tyme of snow;

Selanjutnya Benaya bin Yoyada, anak seorang yang gagah perkasa, yang besar jasanya, yang berasal dari Kabzeel; ia menewaskan kedua pahlawan besar dari Moab. Juga pernah ia turun ke dalam lobang dan membunuh seekor singa pada suatu hari bersalju.

23 and he killide a man of Egipt, whos stature was of fyue cubitis, and he hadde a spere as the beem of webbis; therfor Banaye yede doun to hym with a yerde, and rauyschide the spere, which he held in the hond, and killide hym with his owne spere.

Pula ia membunuh seorang Mesir, seorang yang tinggi perawakannya lima hasta tingginya; di tangan orang Mesir itu ada tombak seperti pesa tukang tenun, tetapi ia mendatanginya dengan tongkat, merampas tombak itu dari tangan orang Mesir itu, lalu membunuh orang itu dengan tombaknya sendiri.

24 Banaye, the sone of Joiada, dide these thingis, that was moost named among thre stronge men, and was the firste among thretti;

Itulah yang diperbuat Benaya bin Yoyada; ia mendapat nama di antara ketiga puluh pahlawan itu.

25 netheles he cam not til to the thre; sotheli Dauid settide hym at his eere.

Sesungguhnya, di antara ketiga puluh orang itu ia paling dihormati, tetapi ia tidak dapat menyamai triwira. Dan Daud mengangkat dia mengepalai pengawalnya.

26 Forsothe the strongeste men `in the oost weren Asael, the brother of Joab, and Eleanan, the sone of his fadris brothir of Bethleem,

Pahlawan-pahlawan yang gagah perkasa ialah juga Asael, saudara Yoab, selanjutnya Elhanan bin Dodo, dari Betlehem;

27 Semynoth Arorites, Helles Phallonytes, Iras,

Samot, orang Harod; Heles, orang Peloni;

28 the sone of Acces of Thecue, Abieser of Anathot,

Ira anak Ikesh orang Tekoa; Abiezer, orang Anatot;

29 Sobochay Sochites, Ylai Achoytes,

Sibkhai, orang Husa; Ilai, orang Ahohi;

30 Maray Nethophatithes, Heles, the sone of Banaa, Nethophatithes, Ethaa,

Maharai, orang Netofa; Heled bin Baana, orang Netofa;

31 the sone of Rabai, of Gabaath of the sones of Beniamyn; Banaye Pharatonythes, men of the stronde Gaas,

Itai bin ribai, dari Gibea orang Benyamin; Benaya, orang Piraton;
