< Romans 4 >
1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father obtained according to the flesh?
Kale kiki kye tunaayogera ku jjajjaffe Ibulayimu ku bikwata ku by’omubiri?
2 for if Abraham were justified by works, he hath something to boast of; but this he hath not before God:
Singa Ibulayimu yaweebwa obutuukirivu lwa bikolwa, yandyenyumirizza, naye si eri Katonda.
3 for what saith the scripture? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness."
Ebyawandiikibwa bitugamba bitya? Ibulayimu yakkiriza Katonda ne kimubalirwa okuba obutuukirivu.
4 Now to him that worketh the reward is not reckoned as a favor, but as a debt:
Omuntu bw’akola omulimu, asasulwa empeera ye. Empeera gy’aweebwa, teba kirabo.
5 but to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
Katonda tayinza kukusembeza olw’ebikolwa byo. Katonda asembeza aboonoonyi olw’okukkiriza kwe balina mu ye.
6 As David also describeth the blessedness of the man to whom: God imputeth righteousness without works, saying,
Kabaka Dawudi naye yayogera kye kimu ku muntu ono Katonda gw’awa obutuukirivu obutavudde mu bikolwa bye ng’agamba nti:
7 "Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered:
“Baweereddwa omukisa, abasonyiyiddwa ebyonoono byabwe, ne baggyibwako ebibi byabwe.
8 blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth not sin."
Aweereddwa omukisa omuntu, Mukama gw’atalibalira kibi.”
9 Now is this blessedness upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? for we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.
Kale omukisa guno, gw’abakomole bokka oba n’abatali bakomole? Ebyawandiikibwa bitugamba nti okukkiriza kwa Ibulayimu kwamubalirwa okuba obutuukirivu.
10 How then was it accounted to him? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
Kale, kwamubalirwa kutya? Ng’akomolebbwa oba nga tannakomolebwa? Nedda si ng’akomolebbwa naye nga tannakomolebwa.
11 And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had in uncircumcision: that he might be the father of all that believe though not circumcised, that righteousness may be imputed to them also:
Akabonero ke yafuna ak’okukomolebwa, ye nvumbo ku butuukirivu olw’okukkiriza kwe, nga tannakomolebwa, alyoke abeere jjajja w’abo bonna abakkiriza nga si bakomole, nabo balyoke babalirwe obutuukirivu.
12 and the father of circumcision to those, who not only are of the circumcision, but also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.
Ate era ye jjajja w’abantu bonna, abakomole, era abatambulira mu kkubo ery’okukkiriza, jjajjaffe Ibulayimu kwe yalina nga tannakomolebwa.
13 For the promise made to Abraham, or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world, was not by the law, but by the righteousness of faith:
Ibulayimu n’ezzadde lye tebaaweebwa kisuubizo eky’okulya ensi yonna, ng’omugabo gwe, lwa kukwata mateeka. Katonda, ensi yagimusuubiza lwa butuukirivu obwamuweebwa olw’okukkiriza.
14 for if they only that are of the law be heirs, faith is made useless, and the promise is become of no effect.
Kale obanga baweebwa obusika lw’amateeka, okukkiriza kuba tekugasa, era nga n’ekisuubizo tekirina makulu.
15 Now the law worketh wrath; for where there is no law, there is no transgression.
Katonda anyiiga Amateeka ge bwe gatagonderwa. Naye bwe wataba mateeka, tewaba mateeka ga kujeemera.
16 And therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace, that so the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but also to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,
Noolwekyo ekisuubizo kijja lwa kukkiriza, kiryoke kiweebwe lwa kisa, eri ezzadde lyonna, so si ezzadde erigondera amateeka lyokka naye n’eri ezzadde erya Ibulayimu olw’okukkiriza; era oyo ye jjajjaffe ffenna.
17 (as it is written, "I have made thee a father of many nations,") in the sight of Him whom he believed, even God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not as if they were:
Kyawandiikibwa nti, “Nkufudde jjajja w’amawanga amangi.” Ye jjajjaffe mu maaso g’oyo gwe yakkiriza, Katonda azuukiza abafu, era alaba ebitaliiwo ng’ebiriwo, era atonda ebintu ebiggya.
18 who against hope believed, with hope, that he should be the father of many nations, according to that which was said unto him, "So shall thy seed be."
Katonda yasuubiza Ibulayimu abazzukulu bangi. Ne bwe kyalabika ng’ekitasoboka, Ibulayimu yalina okukkiriza mu Katonda, n’oluvannyuma n’abeera jjajja w’amawanga mangi, okusinziira ku ekyo ekyayogerwa nti, “Ezadde lyo bwe liriba.”
19 And not being weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, being about an hundred years old; nor the deadness of Sarah's womb.
Teyatendewererwa mu kukkiriza, newaakubadde nga yali wa myaka nga kikumi, nga n’omubiri gwe munafu nnyo, ate nga ne Saala mugumba.
20 He hesitated not at the promise of God through unbelief: but was strong in faith, giving glory to God,
Teyabuusabuusa kisuubizo kya Katonda mu butakkiriza, naye yaweebwa amaanyi lwa kukkiriza; n’agulumiza Katonda.
21 and being fully persuaded, that what was promised He was able to perform:
Yakakasiza ddala nti Katonda kye yasuubiza asobola okukituukiriza,
22 and therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
era bwe kityo ne kimubalirwa okuba obutuukirivu.
23 Now it was not written on his account only, that it was imputed to him:
Naye tekyawandiikibwa ku lulwe yekka nti, “Kyamubalirwa okuba obutuukirivu;”
24 but for our sakes also, to him it will be imputed, as we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead:
naye era naffe, abakkiririza mu oyo eyazuukiza Yesu Mukama waffe mu bafu.
25 who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Kristo yaweebwayo okuttibwa olw’ebibi byaffe, n’azuukizibwa tulyoke tuweebwe obutuukirivu.
