Revelation 18
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was enlightened with his glory.
இதற்குப் பின்பு, பரலோகத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு தூதன் வருவதை நான் கண்டேன். அவன் மிகுந்த அதிகாரம் உடையவனாயிருந்தான். அவனுடைய மாட்சிமையினால், பூமி பிரகாசம் பெற்றது.
2 And he cried with vehemence, and with a loud voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, a den of impure spirits, and a cage for every unclean and hateful bird.
அவன் வல்லமையான குரலிலே சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னதாவது: “‘விழுந்தது! விழுந்தது! மாபெரும் பாபிலோன் விழுந்து போயிற்று!’ அவள் பிசாசுகளுக்கு உறைவிடமானாள். எல்லாத் தீய ஆவிகளுக்கும் இருப்பிடமானாள். அவள் அசுத்தமும் அருவருப்புமான எல்லாப் பறவைகளுக்கும், வெறுக்கத்தக்க மிருகங்களுக்கும் புகலிடமானாள்.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of her furious whoredom, and the kings of the earth have committed whoredom with her, and the merchants of the earth are grown rich by the abundance of her luxury.
ஏனெனில் எல்லா நாடுகளும், அவளது விபசாரத்தின் ஆவேசமூட்டும் மதுவினால் வெறிகொண்டார்கள். பூமியின் அரசர் அவளுடன் விபசாரம் செய்தார்கள். பூமியின் வர்த்தகர் அவளுடைய வளமான வாழ்க்கையினால் அவளுடன் செல்வந்தர் ஆனார்கள்.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out from her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye may not suffer by her plagues:
பின்பு இன்னுமொரு குரல் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து சொன்னதை நான் கேட்டேன்: “‘என்னுடைய மக்களே, அவளைவிட்டு வெளியே வாருங்கள்,’ அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் அவளுடைய பாவங்களில் பங்குகொள்ளாது இருப்பீர்கள். அவளுடைய வாதைகளும் உங்களுக்கு வராமலிருக்கும்;
5 for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
அவளுடைய பாவங்கள் வானத்தைத் தொடும் உயரத்திற்குக் குவிந்துவிட்டன. இறைவன் அவளுடைய குற்றங்களைத் தன் நினைவில் கொண்டுவந்துள்ளார் என்றது.
6 Give to her as she hath given to you, and repay her double according to her works: in the cup, which she hath mixed, mix for her double.
அவள் கொடுத்ததுபோலவே, அவளுக்குத் திருப்பிக்கொடுங்கள்; அவள் செய்ததற்குப் பதிலாய் இரண்டு மடங்காய் அவளுக்குச் செய்யுங்கள். அவளுடைய சொந்த கிண்ணத்திலிருந்தே அவளுக்கு அதை இரண்டு மடங்கு கலந்துகொடுங்கள்.
7 As much as she hath glorified herself and indulged to luxury, so much torment and sorrow give her; because she saith in her heart, I sit as a queen, I am not a widow, and I shall see no sorrow.
அவள் தன்னைத்தானே மேன்மைப்படுத்தி சொகுசாக வாழ்ந்தாள். அதற்குப் பதிலாய் அவளுக்கு வேதனையையும் துக்கத்தையும் கொடுங்கள். அவள் தன் இருதயத்தில், ‘நான் அரசியைப்போல் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறேன். நான் ஒரு விதவை அல்ல; நான் ஒருபோதும் புலம்பமாட்டேன்’ என்று பெருமிதமாய் கூறிக்கொள்கிறாள்.
8 Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, even death and mourning and famine; and she shall be burnt with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
ஆகையால் ஒரே நாளிலே, அவளுக்குரிய வாதைகள் அவள்மேல் வரும்: மரணமும், புலம்பலும், பஞ்சமும் வரும். அவள் நெருப்பினால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவாள். ஏனெனில், அவளை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிற இறைவனாகிய கர்த்தர் வல்லமையானவர்.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed lewdness and lived luxuriously with her, shall bemoan her and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning;
“அவளுடனே விபசாரம் செய்து, அவளுடைய சுகசெல்வத்திலே பங்குகொண்ட பூமியின் அரசர்கள், அவள் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவதின் புகையைக் காணும்போது, அவளுக்காக அழுது புலம்புவார்கள்.
10 standing afar off for fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, the great city Babylon, that powerful city! for in one hour is thy judgement come.
அவளுடைய வேதனையைக் கண்டு, அவர்கள் பயந்து, மிகவும் தூரத்தில் நின்று: “‘ஐயோ மகா நகரமே, ஐயோ கேடு! பாபிலோனே, வல்லமையான நகரமே! ஒருமணி நேரத்தில் உனக்கு அழிவு வந்துவிட்டதே!’ என்று கதறி அழுவார்கள்.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall bewail and mourn over her, because no one will buy their merchandize any more:
“பூமியின் வியாபாரிகளும் அவளுக்காக அழுது புலம்புவார்கள். ஏனெனில், அவர்களுடைய பொருட்களை வாங்குவதற்கு, இனி யாரும் இல்லை.
12 the lading of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and all sorts of thyine wood, and vessels of ivory, and of the most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;
அவள் அவர்களிடம் வாங்கிய பொருட்களில் தங்கம், வெள்ளி, மாணிக்கக் கற்கள்; முத்துக்கள்; மென்மையான நார்ப்பட்டு, ஊதா நிறத்துணி, பட்டுத்துணி, சிவப்புத்துணி; பலவித நறுமண மரங்கள், தந்தத்தாலும், விலையுயர்ந்த மரத்தாலும், வெண்கலத்தாலும், இரும்பாலும், சலவைக் கல்லினாலும் செய்யப்பட்ட எல்லாவிதப் பொருட்களும் அடங்கும்;
13 and their cinnamon, and perfumes, and sweet ointment, and incense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, yea and the souls of men.
இன்னும் இலவங்கப்பட்டை, வாசனைப் பொருட்கள், நறுமணத்தூள், வெள்ளைப்போளம், சாம்பிராணி, திராட்சைரசம், ஒலிவ எண்ணெய், சிறந்த மாவு மற்றும் கோதுமை; ஆடுமாடுகள் மற்றும் செம்மறியாடுகள்; குதிரைகள், வண்டிகள், அடிமைகள் ஆகியவையும் அடங்கும். ஆம், அவர்கள் அவற்றுடன் மனிதருடைய உயிர்களையும் விற்றார்கள்.
14 And the fruits, which thy soul longed after, are gone from thee, and all thy delicate and splendid things are departed, and thou shalt find them no more.
“அவர்கள், ‘பாபிலோனே, நீ ஆசைப்பட்ட சுகபோக கனிகளும் உன்னைவிட்டுப் போயிற்று. உனது செல்வங்களும் மகிமையும் மறைந்துவிட்டன. அவை இனியொருபோதும் திரும்பி வராது’ என்று சொல்வார்கள்.
15 The merchants of these things, who grew rich by their trade with her, shall stand afar off for fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,
இந்தப் பொருட்களை விற்று, அதனால் அவளிடமிருந்து செல்வத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட வர்த்தகர்கள், அவளுடைய வேதனையைப் பார்த்து பயந்து, தூரத்திலே நிற்பார்கள்.
16 and saying, Alas, alas, the great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
அவர்கள் அழுது புலம்பி: “‘ஐயோ கேடு, ஐயோ மகா நகரமே, மென்பட்டையும், ஊதா நிறத்துணியையும், சிவப்பு நிறத்துணியையும் உடுத்தியிருந்தவளே, தங்கத்தினாலும் மாணிக்கக் கற்களினாலும், முத்துக்களினாலும் மினுக்கம் பெற்றிருந்தவளே,
17 for in one hour is so great wealth laid waste. And every pilot, and all on board the ships, and the mariners, and all that traffic by sea, stood afar off,
ஒருமணி நேரத்திலே இப்பேர்ப்பட்ட பெரும் செல்வம் பாழாய்ப் போயிற்றே!’” என்று கதறுவார்கள். “எல்லாக் கப்பல் தலைவர்களும், கடலில் பயணம் செய்கிறவர்களும், மாலுமிகளும், கடலில் தொழில் செய்கிறவர்களும் தூரத்தில் நிற்பார்கள்.
18 and cried out, when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like to this great city?
அவள் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுகிறதினால் எழும்பும் புகையை அவர்கள் காணும்போது, ‘இந்த மகா நகரத்தைப்போல், எப்பொழுதேனும் ஒரு நகரம் இருந்ததோ?’ என்று கதறுவார்கள்.
19 And they threw dust on their heads, and cried out, weeping and moaning, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, in which all that had ships at sea were enriched by her sumptuous expences! for in one hour she is become desolate.
அவர்கள் தங்கள் தலைகளில் புழுதியைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு: “‘ஐயோ கேடு! ஐயோ மகா நகரமே, கப்பல் உரிமையாளர்கள் எல்லாம் அவளுடைய செல்வத்தினால்தானே செல்வந்தரானார்களே! ஒருமணி நேரத்தில் அவள் இவ்விதமாய் பாழாய்ப்போனாளே!’ என்று அழுது புலம்புவார்கள்.
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets, for God hath avenged you on her.
“பரலோகமே, அவளைக்குறித்து மகிழ்ச்சியடைவாயாக! பரிசுத்தவான்களே, அப்போஸ்தலரே, இறைவாக்கினரே, நீங்களும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைவீர்களாக! அவள் உங்களுக்குச் செய்தவற்றிற்காக, இறைவன் அவளுக்கு நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.”
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great milstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus shall the great city Babylon be thrown down with violence, and never be found more.
அப்பொழுது ஒரு வல்லமையுள்ள இறைத்தூதன், ஒரு பாறாங்கல்லை எடுத்துக் கடலில் எறிந்தான். அது ஒரு பெரிய ஆலைக்கல்லின் அளவுடையதாய் இருந்தது. அவன் சொன்னதாவது: “பாபிலோன் மாபெரும் நகரமே! நீ இப்படிப்பட்ட ஆவேசத்துடன் வீசி எறியப்படுவாய். நீ இனியொருபோதும் காணப்படமாட்டாய்.
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard in thee no more: and no artist of any art whatsoever shall be found in thee any more; and the sound of a milstone shall be heard in thee no more.
வீணை மீட்டுகிறவர்களின் இசையும், இசைக்கலைஞர், புல்லாங்குழல் ஊதுகிறவர்கள், எக்காளம் ஊதுகிறவர்கள் ஆகியோரின் இசையும் இனியொருபோதும் உன்னிடத்தில் ஒலிக்காது. எந்தத் தொழிலைச் செய்யும் தொழிலாளியும், இனியொருபோதும் உன்னிடத்தில் காணப்படமாட்டான். ஆலைக்கல் ஆட்டுவதால் ஏற்படும் சத்தமும், இனியொருபோதும் உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்காது.
23 And the light of a candle shall be seen in thee no more; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride shall be heard no more in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
விளக்கு வெளிச்சமும் இனியொருபோதும் உன்னிடத்தில் வீசாது. மணமகனின் குரலும் மணமகளின் குரலும் இனியொருபோதும் உன்னிடத்திலே கேட்கமாட்டாது. உன்னுடைய வியாபாரிகள் உலகத்தில் பெரிய மனிதராய் இருந்தார்கள். உன்னுடைய மந்திரச் சொற்களினால் எல்லா நாட்டினரும் தவறாக வழிநடத்தப்பட்டார்கள்.
24 And herein was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
இறைவாக்கினரின் இரத்தமும் பரிசுத்தவான்களின் இரத்தமும் உன்னிலே சிந்தப்பட்டது. பூமியிலே கொல்லப்பட்ட எல்லோருடைய இரத்தக்கறையும் உன்னில் காணப்பட்டது.”
