Philemon 1
1 Paul a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy a brother, to Philemon our beloved brother and fellow-laborer, and to the beloved Apphia,
Pablo, prisionero de Cristo Jesús, y Timoteo, nuestro hermano, a Filemón, nuestro amado colaborador,
2 and to Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the church in thine house,
a la amada Apia, a Arquipo, nuestro compañero de armas, y a la asamblea en vuestra casa:
3 grace and peace be to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
4 I thank my God always making mention of thee in my prayers,
Doy gracias a mi Dios siempre, haciendo mención de vosotros en mis oraciones,
5 (hearing of the faith which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and of thy love to all the saints, )
oyendo hablar de tu amor y de la fe que tienes para con el Señor Jesús y para con todos los santos,
6 that the communication of thy faith may become effectual in the acknowledgement of all the good that is in you towards Christ Jesus:
para que la comunión de tu fe se haga efectiva en el conocimiento de todo lo bueno que hay en nosotros en Cristo Jesús.
7 for we have much joy and comfort in thy love, because by thee, dear brother, the bowels of the saints are refreshed.
Porque tenemos mucha alegría y consuelo en tu amor, porque los corazones de los santos han sido refrescados por medio de ti, hermano.
8 Wherefore though I have sufficient authority in Christ to enjoin thee what is meet,
Por lo tanto, aunque tengo toda la audacia en Cristo para ordenaros lo que conviene,
9 I would rather intreat thee out of love to me, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner too for the sake of Jesus Christ.
sin embargo, por amor, más bien apelo a vosotros, siendo uno como Pablo, anciano, pero también prisionero de Jesucristo.
10 I intreat thee then for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds,
Apelo a vosotros por mi hijo Onésimo, del que me he convertido en padre en mis cadenas,
11 who was formerly unprofitable to thee, but now profitable both to thee and to me; whom I have sent back to thee:
que antes os era inútil, pero que ahora nos es útil a vosotros y a mí.
12 him therefore, as my own bowels, do thou receive.
Te lo devuelvo. Recibid, pues, a éste, es decir, a mi propio corazón,
13 Whom I would gladly have kept with me, that he might have ministered unto me as thou wouldst have done, in the bonds of the gospel.
a quien deseaba retener conmigo, para que en vuestro nombre me sirviera en mis cadenas para la Buena Nueva.
14 But I would do nothing without thy knowledge, that thy kindness might not be as it were forced, but voluntary.
Pero no quise hacer nada sin tu consentimiento, para que tu bondad no fuera como por necesidad, sino por libre voluntad.
15 For perhaps he was therefore parted from thee for a season, that thou mightest receive him for ever: (aiōnios g166)
Por lo tanto, tal vez se separó de ti por un tiempo para que lo tuvieras para siempre, (aiōnios g166)
16 not now as a servant, but above a servant, a dear brother, especially to me, and how much more to thee both in the flesh and in the Lord.
no ya como un esclavo, sino más que un esclavo, un hermano amado, especialmente para mí, pero cuánto más para ti, tanto en la carne como en el Señor.
17 If therefore thou accountest me a friend, receive him as thou wouldst receive me.
Si, pues, me consideras un socio, recíbelo como a mí.
18 If he hath wronged thee in any thing, or is indebted to thee, place it to my accompt:
Pero si os ha perjudicado o os debe algo, ponedlo en mi cuenta.
19 I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will pay it: not to say that thou indeed owest even thy own self to me.
Yo, Pablo, escribo esto con mi propia mano: Te lo devolveré (sin mencionar que me debes incluso a ti mismo además).
20 Yea, my brother, let me enjoy this satisfaction from thee in the Lord: and thus refresh my bowels in the Lord.
Sí, hermano, permíteme que me alegre de ti en el Señor. Refresca mi corazón en el Señor.
21 Being fully persuaded of thy compliance, I have written to thee; knowing that thou wilt indeed do more than I ask.
Confiando en tu obediencia, te escribo, sabiendo que harás incluso más allá de lo que te digo.
22 But I must add, prepare me also a lodging; for I hope that through your prayers I shall be restored to you.
Prepara también una habitación de huéspedes para mí, pues espero que, gracias a vuestras oraciones, se me restituya.
23 Epaphras my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus, and Marcus,
Os saluda Epafras, mi compañero de prisión en Cristo Jesús,
24 Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke my fellow-laborers, salute thee.
así como Marcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis compañeros de trabajo.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo esté con vuestro espíritu. Amén.
