Mark 12
1 And He began to speak unto them in parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and made a fence about it, and digged a place for the wine-fat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and travelled abroad.
Se puso a hablarles en parábolas. “Un hombre plantó una viña, la rodeó de un seto, cavó un pozo para el lagar, construyó una torre, la alquiló a un agricultor y se fue a otro país.
2 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that he might receive from them of the fruit of the vineyard:
Cuando llegó el momento, envió a un siervo al agricultor para que le diera su parte del fruto de la viña.
3 and they took him and beat him, and sent him away empty.
Lo tomaron, lo golpearon y lo despidieron vacío.
4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they threw stones, and wounded him on the head, and sent him away shamefully used.
Volvió a enviar a otro siervo, y le tiraron piedras, lo hirieron en la cabeza y lo despidieron maltratado.
5 And again, he sent another; and him they killed: and many others, beating some, and killing others.
Volvió a enviar a otro, y lo mataron a él y a otros muchos, golpeando a unos y matando a otros.
6 Having yet therefore one Son, his beloved, he sent him also at last unto them, saying, they will reverence my Son.
Por eso, teniendo todavía uno, su hijo amado, lo envió el último a ellos, diciendo: “Respetarán a mi hijo”.
7 But the husbandmen said to one another, this is the heir, Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.
Pero aquellos campesinos dijeron entre sí: ‘Este es el heredero. Vengan, matémoslo, y la herencia será nuestra’.
8 And they took him, and killed Him too, casting him out of the vineyard.
Lo tomaron, lo mataron y lo echaron de la viña.
9 What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and will let the vineyard to others.
¿Qué hará, pues, el señor de la viña? Vendrá y destruirá a los labradores, y dará la viña a otros.
10 And have ye not read this scripture, "The stone, which the builders refused, is become the head of the corner:
¿Acaso no has leído esta Escritura? La piedra que desecharon los constructores fue nombrado jefe de la esquina.
11 this was from the Lord, and it is marvellous in our eyes."
Esto era del Señor. Es maravilloso a nuestros ojos’”.
12 And they sought to lay hands on Him, but they were afraid of the people; (for they knew that He spake the parable against them) and they left Him, and went away.
Intentaron apoderarse de él, pero temían a la multitud, pues se dieron cuenta de que decía la parábola contra ellos. Lo dejaron y se fueron.
13 And they send to Him some of the pharisees, and of the Herodians to insnare Him in his discourse:
Enviaron a algunos de los fariseos y de los herodianos hacia él, para atraparlo con palabras.
14 and these, when they came, said to Him, Master, we know that thou art a man of truth, and carest for no man; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to pay tribute to Cesar, or not? should we give, or should we not give?
Cuando llegaron, le preguntaron: “Maestro, sabemos que eres honesto y que no te inclinas por nadie, pues no eres parcial con nadie, sino que enseñas verdaderamente el camino de Dios. ¿Es lícito pagar impuestos al César, o no?
15 But He knew their hypocrisy, and said to them, Why do ye tempt me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
¿Debemos dar, o no debemos dar?” Pero él, conociendo su hipocresía, les dijo: “¿Por qué me ponéis a prueba? Traedme un denario, para que lo vea”.
16 So they brought one: and He saith to them, Whose is this image and inscription? And they said Cesar's.
Lo trajeron. Les dijo: “¿De quién es esta imagen y esta inscripción?” Le dijeron: “Del César”.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Render then unto Cesar the things that are Cesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at Him.
Jesús les respondió: “Dad al César lo que es del César y a Dios lo que es de Dios”. Se maravillaron mucho con él.
18 Then come the sadducees to Him, who say there is no resurrection;
Algunos saduceos, que dicen que no hay resurrección, se acercaron a él. Le preguntaron, diciendo:
19 and they asked Him, saying, Master, Moses, in his writings tells us, if any one's brother die, and leave a wife, and leave no children, that his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
“Maestro, Moisés nos escribió: “Si el hermano de un hombre muere y deja esposa, y no deja hijos, que su hermano tome a su esposa y levante descendencia para su hermano”.
20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife and died and left no seed;
Había siete hermanos. El primero tomó una esposa, y al morir no dejó descendencia.
21 and the second took her, and died, and he left no seed neither; and the third likewise.
El segundo la tomó y murió sin dejar descendencia. El tercero hizo lo mismo;
22 And all the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all died the woman also.
y los siete la tomaron y no dejaron hijos. El último de todos murió también la mujer.
23 In the resurrection therefore, when they rise again, whose wife shall be of them; for all the seven had her to wife?
En la resurrección, cuando resuciten, ¿de quién será ella la esposa de ellos? Porque los siete la tuvieron como esposa”.
24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
Jesús les contestó: “¿No es porque estáis equivocados, al no conocer las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios?
25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels in heaven.
Porque cuando resuciten de entre los muertos, ni se casan ni se dan en matrimonio, sino que son como ángeles en el cielo.
26 But as to the dead, that they are raised, have ye not read in the book of Moses, how God spake to him in the bush, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Pero sobre los muertos, que resucitan, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés sobre la Zarza, cómo Dios le habló diciendo: “Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob”?
27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: therefore ye do greatly mistake.
No es el Dios de los muertos, sino de los vivos. Por tanto, estáis muy equivocados”.
28 And one of the scribes, who heard them disputing, seeing that He answered them well, came to Him and asked Him, Which is the chief commandment of all?
Uno de los escribas se acercó y los oyó interrogar juntos, y sabiendo que les había respondido bien, le preguntó: “¿Cuál es el mayor de los mandamientos?”
29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord,
Jesús respondió: “El más grande es: ‘Escucha, Israel, el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor es uno.
30 and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:" this is the first or chief commandment,
Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas. Este es el primer mandamiento.
31 and the second is like it, even this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:" there is no other commandment greater than these.
El segundo es así: ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo’. No hay otro mandamiento mayor que éstos”.
32 And the scribe said unto Him, Truly, Master, thou hast spoke exceeding well; for there is one God, and there is no other beside Him.
El escriba le dijo: “En verdad, maestro, has dicho bien que él es uno, y no hay otro sino él;
33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole-burnt-offerings and sacrifices.
y amarlo con todo el corazón, con todo el entendimiento, con toda el alma y con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a sí mismo, es más importante que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios.”
34 And Jesus seeing that he answered discreetly, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared any more to put questions to Him.
Al ver que respondía con sabiduría, Jesús le dijo: “No estás lejos del Reino de Dios”. Después nadie se atrevió a preguntarle nada.
35 And Jesus spake and said, as He was teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say, that the Christ is the son of David?
Jesús respondió, mientras enseñaba en el templo: “¿Cómo es que los escribas dicen que el Cristo es hijo de David?
36 for David himself said by the holy Spirit, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Porque el mismo David dijo en el Espíritu Santo ‘El Señor dijo a mi Señor, “Siéntate a mi derecha, hasta que haga de tus enemigos el escabel de tus pies”.
37 So that David himself calleth Him Lord: how then is He his son? And many of the people heard Him with pleasure.
Por lo tanto, el mismo David lo llama Señor, ¿cómo puede ser su hijo?” La gente común le escuchaba con gusto.
38 And He said unto them as He was teaching them, Beware of the scribes, who love to walk in long robes, and salutations in public-places,
En su enseñanza les decía: “Cuídense de los escribas, a quienes les gusta andar con ropas largas, y recibir saludos en las plazas,
39 and the chief seats in the synagogues, and uppermost places at feasts;
y obtener los mejores asientos en las sinagogas y los mejores lugares en las fiestas,
40 who devour widows houses, and for a shew of religion make long prayers: these shall receive the heavier judgement.
los que devoran las casas de las viudas, y por un pretexto hacen largas oraciones. Estos recibirán mayor condena”.
41 And as Jesus was sitting over against the treasury, He saw how the people threw money into the treasury, and many of the rich put in much;
Jesús se sentó frente al tesoro y vio cómo la multitud echaba dinero en el tesoro. Muchos ricos echaban mucho.
42 and there came a poor widow and put in two mites, that is, a farthing.
Vino una viuda pobre y echó dos moneditas de bronce, que equivalen a una moneda de cuadrante.
43 And He called his disciples to Him, and saith unto them, Verily I tell you, that this poor widow has given more than all those who have cast into the treasury.
Llamó a sus discípulos y les dijo: “Os aseguro que esta viuda pobre ha echado más que todos los que echan en el tesoro,
44 For they all have contributed out of their abundance: but she out of her penury hath given all that she had, even her whole living.
porquetodos han echado de su abundancia, pero ella, de su pobreza, ha echado todo lo que tenía para vivir.”
