< Luke 1 >

1 Whereas many have undertaken to compose a narrative of the things, which have been fully certified among us;
Abhanu bafu bhekomesishe okujitonda kisi emisango jinu jakumiye agati yeswe.
2 as they delivered them to us, who were from the beginning eye-witnesses of them, and ministers of the word;
Lwakutyo eswe chayabhwilwe na bhanu bhajilolele na ameso kwambila kubhwambilo bhali bhakosi bho Omusango gwa Nyamuanga.
3 it seemed good to me also, having thoroughly traced them all from the very first, to write an account of them in order to thee,
Kulwejo anye ona, nejile namala okukengela kisi obhwambilo bhwe emisango jona- nalola ati nikisi nikwandikile kubhwitondi bhwajo-Teofilo owechibhalo.
4 most excellent Theophilus, that thou mayst know the certainty of the things wherein thou hast been instructed.
Koleleki utule okumenya echimali che emisango jinu weigisibhwe.
5 There was in the days of Herod king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia; and his wife was of the family of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
Munsiku ja Herode omukama wa Yudea, aliga alio omugabisi atogwaga Zakaria, owamulubho lwo obhugabhisi bhwa Abiya; omugasi waye Elizabeti aliga asokole muluganda lwa Haruni.
6 And they were both righteous in the sight of God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Abho bhone bhaliga bhali bhalengelesi imbele ya Nyamuanga bhagwatiliye ebhilagilo byona ebhyo Omukama na jindamu jaye.
7 And they had no child, for Elisabeth was barren; and they were both far advanced in years.
Nawe bhaliga bhatana mwana, kulwokubha Elizabethi aliga alimugumba, na bhaliga bhakokoye muno.
8 And it came to pass, while he was in the order of his course performing the priest's office before God,
Kakingile akatungu ko olubho lwa Zakaria okubha imbele ya Nyamuanga nakolaga emilimu jobhugabhisi,
9 according to the custom of dividing the office of the priests, that it fell to his lot to burn incense, entring into the temple of the Lord:
Mbe nibhamusola okwingana lwa kutyo bhasolwaga mumilimu jo obugabhisi, agende mwiyekalu okututa omuchumulilo.
10 and all the people were praying without at the time of offering incense.
Katungu nibhatuta omuchumulilo elikofyanya lyaliga lilianja nilisabhwa.
11 And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right hand of the altar of incense.
Mbe Malaika wo Omukama amufulumukiyeko nemelegulu mukubhoko kwe ebhulyo okwe ebhigabhilo bhokututila.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was startled and struck with fear:
Ejile Zakaria amulola natinyuka nabhamo nobhubha.
13 but the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias; for thy prayer is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John:
Nawe malaika namubhwila ati, “Wasiga kubhaya Zakaria, kulwokubha lisabhwa lyao lyongwibhwa. Omugasi wao Elijabeti kaja okwibhulila omwana we echilume. Risina lyaye umutoge Yoana.
14 and he shall be a joy and transport to thee, yea, many shall rejoice on account of his birth; for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord,
Ulikondelwa nokusandabha, na bhanfu bhalikondelelwa ukwibhulwa kwaye.
15 and he shall drink neither wine nor any other strong liquor; and he shall be filled with the holy Spirit even from his birth;
Kulwokubha alibha mukulu imbele ya meso go Omukama. Atalinywa omulamba gwa majabhibhu amwi echinu chinu echitamisha, na alijusibhwa Mwoyo Mweru kusokelela munda ya nyilamwene.
16 and many of the children of Israel shall he convert unto the Lord their God.
Alubhasubhya bhanu bhafu bha Isiraeli kumukama Nyamuanga webhwe
17 And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers unto the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to prepare for the Lord a people well-disposed.
Alitangata imbele yo obhusu bhwa Lata Bhugenyi kulwo mwoyo na mumanaga ga Eliya. Alikola kutyo koleleki asubye emitima ja abhebhusi kubhana, koleleki bhanyantongwa bhalame mubhwengeso bhwa abhalengelesi. Alikola kutyo okubhemalilisha bhanu bhelabhilwe okusolwa ingulu yaye.”
18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife far advanced in years.
Zakaria nabhwila malaika ati, “Omusango gunu enigumenya kutiki? Kulwokubha anye nakokoye ke emyaka jo omugasi wani ona jabheye myafu muno.”
19 And the angel answering said to him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God, and I am sent to speak to thee, and to tell thee this good news:
Malaika nasubhya namubhwila ati, “Anye nanye Gabhulyeli, unu nimeleguyu imbele ya Nyamuanga. Nitumilwe okuja nikubhwile omusango gunu ogwekisi.
20 and now shalt thou be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall come to pass; because thou believedst not my words, which shall be fulfilled at their season.
Mbe lola oubha mujibhi, utakwaika kukingila kulusiku olwo jinu jilikumila. Kulwokubha walemele okwikilisha emisango jani ejojilikumila mukatungu akene.
21 And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and wondered at his staying so long in the temple:
Mbe abhanu bhaliga bhamulindiliye zakaria. Nibhalugula okulola namala omwanya mulela ali mwiyekalu.
22 but when he came out he could not speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he made signs to them, and continued speechless:
Nawe ejile auluka atatule kwaika nabho. Nibhamenya ati aliga alolele chiroro mwiyekaru.
23 and as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
Nijibha ati ejile amala emilimu jo obhugabhisi nemuka okusubha ika owaye.
24 And after these days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and retired five months,

“Linu nilyo Lata Bhugenyi amankolelea ejile ansima koleleki ansosheko jinswalo imbele ya abhanu.”
26 But in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee called Nazareth,

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with God:

34 Then said Mary to the angel, How can this be, since I am a virgin?
Mariamu nabhusya malaika jiribha kutiki okubha nitana murume.
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee, and therefore thine holy offspring shall be called the Son of God: and lo,

37 for nothing is impossible with God.

38 Then Mary said, Behold the servant of the Lord, may it be unto me according to thy word. So the angel departed from her.
Maliamu naikati, Lola, anye ndi mukosi we chigasi wa Nyamuanga. Siga jibhe kutyo aikile kwanye emisango jao.”Neya malaika namusiga.
39 Then Mary arose and went with speed into the hill-country, to a city of Juda,

Oli yabhonekene ati Elijabheti ejile inkesha ya Maliamu, omwana munda yae nejunga, na Elijabheti nejushwa no mwoyo mwelu.
42 and she cried out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb:
Naikila ingulu kwo bhulaka bhunene,”una libhando agati ya bhagasi bhona, no mwana unu ali munda yao ona abhonekewe.
43 and whence is this honor to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44 for behold, as soon as the voice of thy salutation reached my ears, the child in my womb leaped for joy:

46 And Mary said, "My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour;
