Luke 5
1 And when the people were pressing on Him to hear the word of God, as He stood by the lake of Gennesareth, seeing two vessels at the edge of the lake,
Mientras la multitud le apretaba y escuchaba la palabra de Dios, él estaba de pie junto al lago de Genesaret.
2 (but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets: )
Vio dos barcas paradas junto al lago, pero los pescadores habían salido de ellas y estaban lavando las redes.
3 He went into one of them, which was Simon's, and desired him to put off a little way from the shore: and He sat down and taught the multitudes from the ship.
Entró en una de las barcas, que era la de Simón, y le pidió que se alejara un poco de la tierra. Se sentó y enseñó a las multitudes desde la barca.
4 And when He had done speaking, He said to Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
Cuando terminó de hablar, le dijo a Simón: “Rema mar adentro y echa las redes para pescar”.
5 And Simon answered and said unto Him, Master, we have been toiling all the night, and have caught nothing; however at thy word I will cast the net.
Simón le respondió: “Maestro, hemos trabajado toda la noche y no hemos pescado nada; pero en tu palabra echaré la red”.
6 And when they had done this, they inclosed a multitude of fishes; and their net was breaking.
Cuando hicieron esto, pescaron una gran cantidad de peces, y su red se rompía.
7 And they beckoned to their partners that were in the other ship, to come and help them; and they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were even sinking: and when Simon Peter saw it,
Hicieron señas a sus compañeros de la otra barca para que vinieran a ayudarlos. Vinieron y llenaron las dos barcas, de modo que empezaron a hundirse.
8 he fell at the knees of Jesus, saying, Lord, depart from me, for I am a sinful man;
Pero Simón Pedro, al verlo, cayó de rodillas ante Jesús, diciendo: “Apártate de mí, porque soy un hombre pecador, Señor”.
9 for he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of fishes which they had taken;
Porque estaba asombrado, y todos los que estaban con él, de la pesca que habían hecho;
10 as were also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Be not afraid, from henceforth thou shalt be a captor of men.
y también Santiago y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran compañeros de Simón. Jesús le dijo a Simón: “No tengas miedo. A partir de ahora cogerás gente viva”.
11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they left all and followed Him.
Cuando llevaron sus barcas a tierra, lo dejaron todo y le siguieron.
12 And when He was in one of the cities of that country, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus, fell prostrate to Him, and besought Him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
Mientras estaba en una de las ciudades, he aquí que había un hombre lleno de lepra. Al ver a Jesús, se postró sobre su rostro y le rogó diciendo: “Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme”.
13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed: and immediately the leprosy departed from him.
Extendió la mano y lo tocó, diciendo: “Quiero. Queda limpio”. Inmediatamente la lepra lo abandonó.
14 And He charged him to tell no one: but go, said He, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Le ordenó que no se lo dijera a nadie: “Pero vete y muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu purificación lo que ha mandado Moisés, para que les sirva de testimonio.”
15 But the fame of Him spread more and more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.
Pero la noticia sobre él se extendió mucho más, y se reunieron grandes multitudes para escuchar y ser curados por él de sus enfermedades.
16 But He frequently retired into solitary places, and prayed.
Pero él se retiró al desierto y oró.
17 And one day, as He was teaching, there were pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea, and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present to heal the people:
Uno de esos días, estaba enseñando, y había fariseos y maestros de la ley sentados que habían salido de todas las aldeas de Galilea, Judea y Jerusalén. El poder del Señor estaba con él para curarlos.
18 and behold, some men bringing on a couch a man that was paralytic; and they endeavoured to bring him in, and lay him before Him:
He aquí que unos hombres trajeron a un paralítico en un catre, y trataron de traerlo para ponerlo delante de Jesús.
19 but when they could not find what way to bring him in because of the croud, they went up on the battlements of the house, and let him down from the roof with his couch, into the midst before Jesus,
Al no encontrar la manera de hacerlo entrar a causa de la multitud, subieron a la azotea y lo hicieron bajar por las tejas con su catre al centro, ante Jesús.
20 who seeing their faith said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
Al ver su fe, le dijo: “Hombre, tus pecados te son perdonados”.
21 And the scribes and pharisees began to cavil, saying, Who is this that talketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God?
Los escribas y los fariseos se pusieron a razonar, diciendo: “¿Quién es éste que dice blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar los pecados, sino sólo Dios?”
22 but Jesus knowing their thoughts, answered and said unto them, What are ye disputing in your hearts?
Pero Jesús, percibiendo sus pensamientos, les respondió: “¿Por qué razonáis así en vuestros corazones?
23 Which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Rise up and walk?
¿Qué es más fácil decir: “Tus pecados te son perdonados”, o decir: “Levántate y anda”?
24 but that ye may know, that the Son of man hath power even on earth to forgive sins, (He spake to the paralytic) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go to thine house.
Pero para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar los pecados, dijo al paralítico: “Te digo que te levantes, toma tu camilla y te vete a tu casa.”
25 And immediately he rose up before them, took up the bed on which he lay, and went away to his house, glorifying God.
Inmediatamente se levantó delante de ellos, tomó lo que tenía puesto y se fue a su casa, glorificando a Dios.
26 And they were all amazed and glorified God, and were filled with awe, saying, we have seen wonderful things to-day.
El asombro se apoderó de todos, y glorificaron a Dios. Se llenaron de temor, diciendo: “Hoy hemos visto cosas extrañas”.
27 After these things He went out and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the custom-house, and said to him, Follow me:
Después de estas cosas, salió y vio a un recaudador de impuestos llamado Leví, sentado en la oficina de impuestos, y le dijo: “¡Sígueme!”
28 and he left all, rose up, and followed Him.
Lo dejó todo, se levantó y le siguió.
29 And Levi made Him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great number of publicans, and others at table with them.
Leví hizo una gran fiesta para él en su casa. Había una gran multitud de recaudadores de impuestos y otros que estaban reclinados con ellos.
30 And their scribes and pharisees murmured at his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Sus escribas y los fariseos murmuraban contra sus discípulos, diciendo: “¿Por qué coméis y bebéis con los recaudadores de impuestos y los pecadores?”
31 And Jesus answered and said unto them, They that are in health have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I am not come to call the righteous,
Jesús les respondió: “Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, pero los enfermos sí.
32 but sinners to repentance.
No he venido a llamar a los justos, sino a los pecadores, al arrepentimiento.”
33 And they said unto Him, Why do the disciples of John frequently fast and pray, and likewise those of the pharisees; but thine eat and drink?
Le dijeron: “¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan suelen ayunar y orar, así como los discípulos de los fariseos, pero los tuyos comen y beben?”
34 And He said unto them, Can ye make those of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
Les dijo: “¿Podéis hacer ayunar a los amigos del novio mientras el novio está con ellos?
35 but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, then they will fast.
Pero vendrán días en que el novio les será quitado. Entonces ayunarán en esos días”.
36 Then He spake a parable to them, That no one putteth a piece of new cloth upon an old garment: otherwise, the new maketh a rent, and doth not match the old:
También les contó una parábola. “Nadie pone un trozo de una prenda nueva en una prenda vieja, porque si no se romperá la nueva, y además el trozo de la nueva no coincidirá con el de la vieja.
37 nor doth any one put new wine in to old vessels; otherwise, the new wine will burst the casks, and be spilled, and the vessels will be destroyed:
Nadie pone vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque el vino nuevo reventaría los odres, se derramaría y los odres se destruirían.
38 but new wine must be put into new vessels, and then both are saved.
Pero el vino nuevo debe ponerse en odres frescos, y ambos se conservan.
39 And no one that has been drinking old wine, immediately desireth new; for he saith, the old is better.
Nadie que haya bebido vino viejo desea inmediatamente el nuevo, porque dice: “El viejo es mejor”.”
