John 12
1 Jesus however, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had been dead, and whom He raised from the dead.

2 Therefore they made Him a supper there, and Martha waited at table, but Lazarus was one of them that sat down with Him.

3 And Mary taking a pound of ointment of spikenard of great value, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped them with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor?

6 He said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the common purse he carried what was put into it.

7 Jesus therefore said, Let her alone, she hath reserved this as for the day of my burial.

8 For the poor ye have always with you, but me ye have not always.

9 And a great number of the Jews understanding that He was there, came not only on account of Jesus, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom He had raised from the dead.

10 Wherefore the chief priests took counsel to put Lazarus also to death.

11 Because on his account many of the Jews went away from them, and believed on Jesus.

12 The next day a great multitude that were come to the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm-trees,

13 and went out to meet Him, and cried, Hosanna! blessed be the king of Israel, who cometh in the name of the Lord.

14 And Jesus having gotten a young ass sat thereon,

15 as it is written, "Fear not, O daughter of Sion, behold thy king cometh sitting on an ass's colt."

16 Now his disciples did not understand these things at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning Him, and that they had done thus unto Him.

17 And the people that were with Him testified, that He called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead:

18 and for this reason the people went to meet Him, because they heard that He had done this miracle.

19 The pharisees therefore said among themselves, Do ye not see that ye prevail nothing? Behold, all the world is gone after Him.

20 And among those that came up to worship at the feast there were certain Greeks:

21 that came to Philip who was of Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we have a desire to see Jesus.

22 And Philip cometh and telleth Andrew, and then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

23 And Jesus answered them saying, The time is come that the Son of man is to be glorified.

24 Though I tell you indeed and in truth, Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it remaineth alone; but if it die, it produceth much fruit.
Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Kunze kwekuti tsanga yegorosi yawira muvhu ikafa, iyo inogara iri yega; asi kana ikafa, inobereka chibereko chakawanda.
25 So he, that loveth his life, shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall preserve it unto life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

26 If any man would serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: and if any one serve me, him will my Father honour.

27 Now is my soul troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I to this hour.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
Baba, kudzai zita renyu. Naizvozvo inzwi rakauya richibva kudenga, richiti: Ndarikudzawo, uye ndicharikudzazve.
29 The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said, That it was thunder: but others said, it was an angel spake to Him.

30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not for my sake, but for yours.

31 Now is the judgement of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, shall draw all men unto me.

33 This He said, signifying what death He should die.

34 The people answered Him, We have heard out of the law, that the Messiah abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while the light is to be with you; walk while ye have the light, least darkness overtake you; for he that walketh in the dark knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have the light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and then went away, and concealed himself from them.

37 But though He had done so many miracles before their eyes, yet they did not believe on Him:
Kunyange akange aita zviratidzo zvizhinji kudai pamberi pavo, havana kutenda kwaari;
38 so that the word of Esaias the prophet was fulfilled, which he spake, saying, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
kuti shoko raIsaya muporofita rizadziswe, raakareva achiti: Ishe, ndiani wakatenda mharidzo yedu? Neruoko rwaIshe rwakazarurirwa kuna ani?
39 And therefore they could not believe; for Esaias had also said,
Naizvozvo vakange vasingagoni kutenda, nokuti Isaya wakatizve:
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
Wakapofumadza meso avo, akaomesa moyo wavo; kuti varege kuona nemeso kana kunzwisisa nemoyo, vagotendeuka, ndigovaporesa.
41 These things said Esaias when he saw his glory, and spake concerning Him.
Isaya wakareva zvinhu izvi, paakaona kubwinya kwake, ndokutaura pamusoro pake.
42 There were however many of the chief rulers that believed on Him; but because of the pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be excommunicated.
Asi kunyange zvakadaro, vazhinji vevatongiwo vakatenda kwaari; asi nekuda kweVaFarisi vakange vasingabvumi, kuti varege kubudiswa musinagoge;
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
nokuti vakada rukudzo rwevanhu kupfuura rukudzo rwaMwari.
44 And Jesus raised his voice, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me only, but on Him that sent me:
Zvino Jesu wakadanidzira akati: Anotenda kwandiri, haatendi kwandiri, asi kune wakandituma.
45 and he that beholdeth me, beholdeth Him that sent me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me, might not abide in darkness.
Ini ndakauya ndiri chiedza panyika, kuti ani nani anotenda kwandiri arege kugara murima.
47 And if any one hear my words and believe not, I do not condemn him: for I am not now come to condemn the world, but to save the world.
Uye kana ani nani achinzwa mashoko angu akasatenda, handimutongi ini; nokuti handina kuuya kuti nditonge nyika, asi kuti ndiponese nyika.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word, that I have spoken, will condemn him at the last day.
Uyo anondiramba asingagamuchiri mashoko angu, ane anomutonga; shoko randakareva, ndiro richamutonga nezuva rekupedzisira.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father, who sent me, gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.
Nokuti ini handina kureva zvemusoro wangu, asi Baba vakandituma, ndivo vakandipa murairo, zvandichareva nezvandichataura.
