John 12
1 Jesus however, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had been dead, and whom He raised from the dead.
১নিস্তারপর্ব্ব শুরুর ছয় দিন আগে যীশু বৈথনিয়াতে এলেন। যেখানে লাসার ছিলেন, যাকে যীশু মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে উঠিয়েছিলেন।
2 Therefore they made Him a supper there, and Martha waited at table, but Lazarus was one of them that sat down with Him.
২সুতরাং তারা তাঁর জন্য সেখানে একটা ভোজের ব্যবস্থা করেছিল এবং মার্থা পরিবেশন করছিলেন, তাদের মধ্যে লাসার ছিল একজন যে টেবিলে যীশুর সঙ্গে বসেছিল।
3 And Mary taking a pound of ointment of spikenard of great value, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped them with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
৩তারপর মরিয়ম এক লিটার খুব দামী, সুগন্ধি লতা দিয়ে তৈরী খাঁটি আতর এনে যীশুর পায়ে মাখিয়ে দিলেন এবং নিজের চুল দিয়ে তাঁর পা মুছিয়ে পরিষ্কার করে দিলেন; বাড়িটি আতরের সুগন্ধে ভরে গেল।
4 Therefore said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, who was about to betray Him,
৪তাঁর শিষ্যদের মধ্যে একজন ঈষ্করিয়োতীয় যিহূদা, যে যীশুর সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে, সে বলল,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor?
৫“কেন এই আতর তিনশো দিনারে বিক্রি করে গরিবদের দিলে না?”
6 He said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the common purse he carried what was put into it.
৬সে যে গরিব লোকদের জন্য চিন্তা করে একথা বলেছিল তা নয়, কিন্তু কারণ সে ছিল একজন চোর: সেই টাকার থলি তার কাছে থাকত এবং কিছু সে নিজের জন্য নিয়ে নিত।
7 Jesus therefore said, Let her alone, she hath reserved this as for the day of my burial.
৭যীশু বললেন, “আমার সমাধি দিনের জন্য তার কাছে যা আছে সেটা তার কাছেই রাখতে বল।
8 For the poor ye have always with you, but me ye have not always.
৮গরিবদের তোমরা সবদিন তোমাদের কাছে পাবে কিন্তু তোমরা আমাকে সবদিন পাবে না।”
9 And a great number of the Jews understanding that He was there, came not only on account of Jesus, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom He had raised from the dead.
৯ইহূদিদের একদল লোকে জানতে পারল যে, যীশু এখানে ছিলেন, তারা কেবল যীশুর জন্য আসেনি, কিন্তু তারা অবশ্যই লাসারকে দেখতে এসেছিল, যাকে যীশু মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে উঠিয়েছিলেন।
10 Wherefore the chief priests took counsel to put Lazarus also to death.
১০প্রধান যাজকরা একসঙ্গে ষড়যন্ত্র করল যে লাসারকে ও মেরে ফেলতে হবে;
11 Because on his account many of the Jews went away from them, and believed on Jesus.
১১তার এই সব কারণের জন্য ইহূদিদের মধ্যে অনেকে চলে গিয়ে যীশুকে বিশ্বাস করেছিল।
12 The next day a great multitude that were come to the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm-trees,
১২পরের দিন অনেক লোক উত্সবে এসেছিল। তখন তারা শুনতে পেল যীশু যিরূশালেমে আসছেন,
13 and went out to meet Him, and cried, Hosanna! blessed be the king of Israel, who cometh in the name of the Lord.
১৩তারা খেঁজুর পাতা নিয়েছিল এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেল এবং চিত্কার করতে লাগল, “হোশান্না! তিনি ধন্য তিনি, যিনি প্রভুর নামে আসছেন, যিনি ইস্রায়েলের রাজা।”
14 And Jesus having gotten a young ass sat thereon,
১৪যীশু একটা গাধাশাবক দেখতে পেলেন এবং তার ওপর বসলেন; যেরকম লেখা ছিল,
15 as it is written, "Fear not, O daughter of Sion, behold thy king cometh sitting on an ass's colt."
১৫“ভয় কোরো না, সিয়োন কন্যা; দেখ, তোমার রাজা আসছেন, একটা গাধাশাবকের উপরে বসে আসছেন।”
16 Now his disciples did not understand these things at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning Him, and that they had done thus unto Him.
১৬তাঁর শিষ্যরা প্রথমে এই সব বিষয় বুঝতে পারেনি; কিন্তু যীশু যখন মহিমান্বিত হলেন, তখন তাঁদের মনে পড়ল যে, তাঁর বিষয়ে এই সব লেখা ছিল এবং তারা তাঁর প্রতি এই সব করেছে।
17 And the people that were with Him testified, that He called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead:
১৭যীশু যখন লাসারকে কবর থেকে বেরিয়ে আসতে বলেছিলেন তখন যে সব লোক তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিল এবং তিনি লাসারকে মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে উঠিয়েছেন, সেই বিষয়ে তারা সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছিল।
18 and for this reason the people went to meet Him, because they heard that He had done this miracle.
১৮এটার আরও কারণ ছিল যে লোকেরা তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গিয়েছিল কারণ তারা এই সব চিহ্ন কাজের কথা শুনেছিল।
19 The pharisees therefore said among themselves, Do ye not see that ye prevail nothing? Behold, all the world is gone after Him.
১৯ফরীশীরা ঐ কারণে তাদের মধ্যে বলতে লাগলো, “দেখ, তোমরা কিছু করতে পারবে না; দেখ, সারা জগত তাঁকে অনুসরণ করছে।”
20 And among those that came up to worship at the feast there were certain Greeks:
২০ঐ উত্সবে যারা উপাসনা করবার জন্য এসেছিল তাদের মধ্যে কয়েক জন গ্রীক ছিল।
21 that came to Philip who was of Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we have a desire to see Jesus.
২১তারা গালীলের বৈৎসৈদার ফিলিপের কাছে গিয়েছিল এবং তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিল, বলেছিল, “মহাশয়, আমরা যীশুকে দেখতে চাই।”
22 And Philip cometh and telleth Andrew, and then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.
২২ফিলিপ গিয়ে আন্দ্রিয়কে বললেন; আন্দ্রিয় ফিলিপের সঙ্গে গিয়ে যীশুকে বললেন।
23 And Jesus answered them saying, The time is come that the Son of man is to be glorified.
২৩যীশু উত্তর করে তাদের বললেন, “মনুষ্যপুত্রকে মহিমান্বিত করার দিন এসেছে।
24 Though I tell you indeed and in truth, Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it remaineth alone; but if it die, it produceth much fruit.
২৪সত্য, সত্য, আমি তোমাদের বলছি, গমের বীজ মাটিতে পড়ে যদি না মরে, তবে এটা একটা মাত্র থাকে, কিন্তু যদি এটা মরে তবে এটা অনেক ফল দেবে।
25 So he, that loveth his life, shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall preserve it unto life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
২৫যে কেউ তার নিজের জীবনকে ভালবাসে, সে তা হারাবে; কিন্তু যে কেউ এই জগতে তার জীবনকে ঘৃণা করে সে অনন্তকালের জন্য প্রাণ রক্ষা পাবে। (aiōnios g166)
26 If any man would serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: and if any one serve me, him will my Father honour.
২৬কেউ যদি আমার সেবা করে, তবে সে আমাকে অনুসরণ করুক; এবং আমি যেখানে থাকব আমার সেবকও সেখানে থাকবে। কেউ যদি আমার সেবা করে, তবে পিতা তাকে সম্মান করবেন।”
27 Now is my soul troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I to this hour.
২৭আমার আত্মা এখন অস্থির হয়েছে: আমি কি বলব? “পিতা, এই দিনের থেকে আমাকে রক্ষা কর? কিন্তু এর জন্যই, আমি এই দিনের এসেছি।
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
২৮পিতা, তোমার নাম মহিমান্বিত হোক।” তখন স্বর্গ হইতে এই কথা শোনা গেল, আমি তা মহিমান্বিত করেছি এবং আবার মহিমান্বিত করব।
29 The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said, That it was thunder: but others said, it was an angel spake to Him.
২৯যে লোকেরা সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে শুনেছিল তারা বলল যে এটা মেঘের গর্জন। অন্যরা বলেছিল, “কোন স্বর্গদূত তাঁর সঙ্গে কথা বললেন।”
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not for my sake, but for yours.
৩০যীশু উত্তরে বললেন, “এই কথা আমার জন্য বলা হয়নি কিন্তু তোমাদের জন্যই বলা হয়েছে।
31 Now is the judgement of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
৩১এখন এই জগতের বিচার হবে: এখন এই জগতের শাসনকর্ত্তা বিতাড়িত হবে।
32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, shall draw all men unto me.
৩২আর যদি আমাকে পৃথিবীর ভিতর থেকে উপরে তোলা হয়, আমি সব লোককে আমার কাছে টেনে আনব।”
33 This He said, signifying what death He should die.
৩৩এই কথার মাধ্যমে তিনি বোঝালেন, “কিভাবে তাঁর মৃত্যু হবে।”
34 The people answered Him, We have heard out of the law, that the Messiah abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)
৩৪লোকেরা তাঁকে উত্তর দিল, “আমরা নিয়ম থেকে শুনেছি যে খ্রীষ্ট চিরকাল থাকবেন। আপনি কিভাবে বলছেন যে, মনুষ্যপুত্রকে অবশ্যই উঁচুতে তোলা হবে? তাহলে এই মনুষ্যপুত্র কে?” (aiōn g165)
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while the light is to be with you; walk while ye have the light, least darkness overtake you; for he that walketh in the dark knoweth not whither he goeth.
৩৫যীশু তখন তাদের বললেন, “আর অল্প দিনের জন্য আলো তোমাদের সাথে আছে। যতক্ষণ তোমাদের কাছে আলো আছে তোমরা চলতে থাক, যাতে অন্ধকার তোমাদেরকে গ্রাস না করে। যে কেউ অন্ধকারে চলে, সে জানে না সে কোথায় যাচ্ছে।
36 While ye have the light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and then went away, and concealed himself from them.
৩৬যতক্ষণ তোমাদের কাছে আলো আছো, সেই আলোতে বিশ্বাস কর যেন তোমরা আলোর সন্তান হতে পার।” যীশু এই সব কথা বললেন এবং তারপর চলে গেলেন এবং তাদের কাছ থেকে নিজেকে গোপন রাখলেন।
37 But though He had done so many miracles before their eyes, yet they did not believe on Him:
৩৭যদিও যীশু তাদের সামনে অনেক চিহ্ন-কার্য্য করেছিলেন, তা সত্বেও তারা তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করে নি
38 so that the word of Esaias the prophet was fulfilled, which he spake, saying, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
৩৮যাতে যিশাইয় ভাববাদীর বাক্য সমপূর্ণ হয়, যা তিনি বলেছিলেন: “হে প্রভু, কে আমাদের প্রচার বিশ্বাস করেছে? আর কার কাছে প্রভুর বাহু প্রকাশিত হয়েছে?”
39 And therefore they could not believe; for Esaias had also said,
৩৯এই জন্য তারা বিশ্বাস করে নি, কারণ যিশাইয় আবার বলেছেন,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
৪০“তিনি তাদের চোখ অন্ধ করেছেন এবং তিনি তাদের হৃদয় কঠিন করেছেন; না হলে তারা চোখ দিয়ে দেখত, হৃদয়ে উপলব্ধি করত ও আমার কাছে ফিরে আসতো এবং আমি তাদের সুস্থ করতাম।”
41 These things said Esaias when he saw his glory, and spake concerning Him.
৪১যিশাইয় এই সব বিষয় বলেছিলেন কারণ তিনি যীশুর মহিমা দেখেছিলেন এবং তাঁরই বিষয় বলেছিলেন।
42 There were however many of the chief rulers that believed on Him; but because of the pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be excommunicated.
৪২তবুও অনেক শাসকেরা যীশুকে বিশ্বাস করেছিল; তারা ফরীশীদের ভয়ে স্বীকার করল না কারণ যদি তাদের সমাজ থেকে বের করে দেয়।
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
৪৩তারা ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে প্রশংসা পাওয়ার চেয়ে মানুষের কাছ থেকে গৌরব পেতে বেশি ভালবাসত।
44 And Jesus raised his voice, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me only, but on Him that sent me:
৪৪যীশু জোরে চিত্কার করে বললেন, “যে আমার উপরে বিশ্বাস করে সে যে কেবল আমার উপরে বিশ্বাস করে তা নয় কিন্তু যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তাঁকেও,
45 and he that beholdeth me, beholdeth Him that sent me.
৪৫আর যে আমাকে দেখে সে তাঁকেও দেখে যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me, might not abide in darkness.
৪৬আমি এই জগতে আলো হিসাবে এসেছি সুতরাং যে আমার উপরে বিশ্বাস করে সে অন্ধকারে থাকে না।
47 And if any one hear my words and believe not, I do not condemn him: for I am not now come to condemn the world, but to save the world.
৪৭যদি কেউ আমার কথা শোনে কিন্তু মানে না, আমি তার বিচার করি না; কারণ আমি জগতের বিচার করতে আসিনি, কিন্তু জগতকে উদ্ধার করতে এসেছি।”
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word, that I have spoken, will condemn him at the last day.
৪৮যে কেউ আমাকে ত্যাগ করে এবং আমার কথা অগ্রাহ্য করে, একজন আছেন যিনি তাদের বিচার করবেন এটা হলো সেই বাক্য যা আমি বলেছি যে শেষ দিনের তার বিচার করা হবে।
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father, who sent me, gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.
৪৯কারণ আমি আমার নিজের থেকে কিছু বলিনি। কিন্তু, এটা পিতা বলেছেন যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন, তিনি আমাকে আদেশ করেছেন আমি কি বলবো এবং কি করে বলবো।
