< Ephesians 4 >

1 I therefore, a prisoner for the sake of the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all humility and meekness;
Ng’omusibe wa Mukama waffe, mbakuutira mubeere n’empisa ezisaanira obulamu bwe mwayitirwa okutambuliramu.
2 and with long-suffering forbear one another in love,
Mubeerenga bakkakkamu, abawombeefu era abagumiikiriza, nga mugumiikirizagana mu kwagala.
3 endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: for there is but one body and one Spirit,
Munyiikirenga okukuuma obumu obw’Omwoyo mu kwegatta awamu okw’emirembe.
4 even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Omubiri nga bwe guli ogumu, n’Omwoyo omu, n’essuubi liri limu ery’okuyitibwa kwammwe.
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Mukama waffe ali omu, n’okukkiriza kumu n’okubatizibwa kumu.
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.
Katonda ali omu, era ye Kitaawe wa bonna, afuga byonna, akolera mu byonna era abeera mu byonna.
7 But grace is given to each of us, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Buli omu ku ffe yaweebwa ekisa ng’okugera kwa Kristo bwe kuli.
8 Wherefore it is said, "When he ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."
Ebyawandiikibwa kyebiva bigamba nti, “Bwe yalinnya mu ggulu, n’atwala omunyago, n’awa abantu ebirabo.”
9 Now this expression "He ascended" what does it mean, but that He descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
Okugamba nti “yalinnya,” kitegeeza ki? Kitegeeza nti yasooka kukka mu bitundu ebya wansi w’ensi.
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.
Oyo Kristo eyakka, ye wuuyo ddala eyalinnya ewala ennyo, n’ayisa waggulu w’eggulu lyonna, alyoke ajjule obwengula bw’ensi yonna.
11 And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry,
Era y’omu oyo eyawa abamu okuba abatume, n’abalala okuba bannabbi, n’abalala okuba ababuulizi b’enjiri, n’abalala okuba abasumba, n’abalala okuba abayigiriza.
12 to the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ekyo yakikola olw’okutendeka abantu ba Katonda olw’omulimu ogw’obuweereza, okuzimba omubiri gwa Kristo.
13 till we all arrive in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at perfect maturity, even to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Ekyo kijja kutwongera okugenda mu maaso, okutuusa ffenna lwe tulibeera n’okukkiriza kumu, n’okumanyira ddala Omwana wa Katonda nga tukulidde ddala mu mwoyo okutuuka ku kigera eky’okubeera nga Kristo bw’ali.
14 That we may be no longer children fluctuating and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the artful insinuations of men, and their crafty methods of deceiving;
Tuteekwa okulekeraawo okweyisa ng’abaana abato, nga tuyuuguumizibwa amayengo nga tutwalibwa buli muyaga ogw’okuyigiriza okw’abantu abakuusa, mu nkwe olw’okugoberera enteekateeka ey’obulimba.
15 but holding the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, who is the head, even Christ:
Tube ba mazima mu kwagala, tulyoke tukulire mu Kristo mu byonna, nga tweyongera okuba nga ye, Omutwe gw’Ekkanisa.
16 from whom the whole body being fitly joined together and compacted by the aid of every joint, according to the operation proportioned to every part, maketh an increase to the edification of itself in love.
Mu ye omubiri gwonna mwe gugattirwa obulungi awamu, ne guyungibwa mu buli nnyingo, nga gukola ng’ekigera kya buli kitundu bwe kuli, nga gukula era nga gwezimba mu kwagala.
17 This I say therefore, and charge you in the name of the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk,
Ng’omugoberezi wa Mukama waffe, mbalagira okulekeraawo okutambula ng’abatamanyi Katonda bwe batambulira mu birowoozo byabwe eby’obusirusiru.
18 in the vanity of their mind, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, by reason of the hardness of their heart:
Amagezi gaabwe gajjudde ekizikiza. Tebalina mugabo mu by’obulamu bwa Katonda, kubanga bajjudde obutamanya era emitima gyabwe mikakanyavu.
19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, to commit all uncleanness with greediness.
Tebakyalina nsonyi, beemalidde mu bya buwemu, na mululu gwa kukola bya bugwenyufu ebya buli ngeri.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
Kyokka mmwe si bwe mwayigirizibwa ku bya Kristo.
21 if ye have indeed hearkened to Him, and been instructed in Him, as the truth is in Jesus; to put off the old man,
Obanga ddala mwamuwulira, era ne muyigirizibwa mu ye ng’amazima bwe gali mu Yesu,
22 which according to your former conversation was corrupted with deceitful lusts,
kale mwambulemu obulamu obw’omuntu ow’edda, avunda olw’okwegomba okw’obulimba.
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Mufuuke baggya olw’Omwoyo afuga ebirowoozo byammwe,
24 and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.
era mwambale omuntu omuggya, eyatondebwa mu kifaananyi kya Katonda mu butuukirivu ne mu kutukuzibwa okw’amazima.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak ye every one truth to his neighbor; for we are all members of one society.
Mulekeraawo okulimba, mwogerenga amazima buli muntu ne munne, kubanga tuli bitundu bya mubiri gumu.
26 Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath;
“Bwe musunguwalanga mwekuume muleme kwonoona.” Temuzibyanga budde nga mukyasunguwadde.
27 and give not the devil room to ensnare you.
Temuwanga Setaani bbanga.
28 Let him that stole steal no more; but rather let him labour, doing some good with his hands, that he may have something to bestow on him that hath need of it.
Abadde omubbi alekeraawo okubba, wabula anyiikirenga okukola eby’omugaso ng’akola n’emikono gye, alyoke afune ky’agabirako n’abo abeetaaga.
29 Let no corrupt word come out of your mouth; but what is good to useful edification, that it may benefit the hearers.
Mwekuume mulemenga okwogera ebigambo ebitasaana, wabula mwogerenga ebyo byokka ebizimba nga buli muntu bwe yeetaaga, biryoke bigase abo ababiwulira.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God whereby ye are sealed to the day of redemption.
Era temunakuwazanga Mwoyo Mutukuvu wa Katonda, eyabateekako akabonero akalaga nga mwanunulibwa.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and fury, and clamor, and calumny, be put away from you, with all malice: and be kind one to another,
Okunyiiga, n’obusungu, n’obukambwe, n’okukaayana, n’okuvuma, na buli kibi kyonna, biremenga kubeera mu mmwe.
32 tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgiveth you.
Mubenga ba kisa, buli omu alumirwenga munne, era musonyiwaganenga, nga Katonda bwe yabasonyiwa mu Kristo.
