< Ephesians 2 >
1 And you hath he made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins,
ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ
2 in which ye formerly walked after the manner of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that still operates in the children of disobedience: (aiōn )
ⲃ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲉⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲁⲏⲣ ⲙⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲅⲓ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ (aiōn )
3 among whom also we were all conversant heretofore in our carnal desires, indulging the appetites of the flesh and of our imaginations; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others.
ⲅ̅ⲉⲁⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲉⲛⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲫⲩⲥⲉⲓ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲣⲅⲏ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲛⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ
4 But God being rich in mercy, through his great love wherewith He loved us,
ⲇ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲥ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧⲛ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ
5 hath made us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses, (for by grace ye are saved) and hath raised us up together,
ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲟⲩϫⲏⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲙⲟⲧ
6 and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲑⲙⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ϩⲛ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
7 That in the ages to come He might shew the superabundant riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us through Christ Jesus. (aiōn )
ⲍ̅ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉϥⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲭⲣⲏⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ (aiōn )
8 For by grace ye are saved, through faith: and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not by works, that no one may boast:
ⲏ̅ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲛϩⲉⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲉⲓⲕⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲧⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲡⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ
9 for we are his workmanship,
ⲑ̅ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲁ ϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
10 created in Christ Jesus unto good works, for which God before prepared us, that we might walk in them.
ⲓ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲉⲁϥⲥⲟⲛⲧⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲉϫⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϣⲣⲡ ⲥⲃⲧⲱⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲉⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ
11 Wherefore remember that ye were formerly Gentiles in the flesh, called uncircumcision by that which is called circumcision made by hands in the flesh;
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲣⲓⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲛϭⲓϫ ϩⲛ ⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ
12 and ye were at that time without Christ, aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus,
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϫⲛ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟ ⲛⲁⲗⲗⲟⲧⲣⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲧⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲉⲛⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲉⲙⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟ ⲛⲁⲧⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ
13 ye, who were formerly afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲉⲧⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ
14 For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and removed the wall of partition from between us;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲁϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲗϫⲗ ⲧⲙⲛⲧϫⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲥⲁⲣⲝ
15 having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He might form the two into one new man, in Himself, so making peace;
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲉⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲥϥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ϩⲛ ⲛⲇⲟⲅⲙⲁ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛⲃⲣⲣⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ
16 and that He might reconcile both in one body unto God, by the cross, having thereby slain the enmity:
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥϩⲟⲧⲡⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲁϥⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧϫⲁϫⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
17 and He came and preached peace to you that were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲍⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲏⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ
18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲙⲡϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the houshold of God;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲓⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲁⲛ ϭⲉ ϩⲓⲣⲙ ⲛϭⲟⲓⲗⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ⲛⲣⲙⲛϯⲙⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲣⲙⲛⲏⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone:
ⲕ̅ⲉⲁⲩⲕⲉⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧⲥⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲟⲛⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲕⲟⲟϩ
21 in whom the whole building fitly joined together increaseth to an holy temple in the Lord:
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲕⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϣⲱⲛⲃ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉϥⲁⲩⲝⲁⲛⲉ ⲉⲩⲣⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
22 in whom ye also are built up together for an habitation of God by the Spirit.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲕⲱⲧ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ
