Acts 12
1 About that time Herod the king exerted his power to distress some of the church.
೧ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೆರೋದನು ಸಭೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈಹಾಕಿದನು.
2 And he cut off James, the brother of John, with the sword.
೨ಯೋಹಾನನ ಅಣ್ಣನಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.
3 And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded to apprehend Peter also, (in the days of unleavened bread: )
೩ಇದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು, ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಪೇತ್ರನನ್ನೂ ಬಂಧಿಸಿದನು. ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬ ಅಂದರೆ ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಹಬ್ಬ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
4 whom he seized and put into prison, delivering him to four quaternions of soldiers to guard him; intending, after the passover, to bring him out to the people.
೪ಅವನನ್ನು ಪಸ್ಕ ಹಬ್ಬವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ತರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಯೋಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಯಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳಿದ್ದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಗುಂಪುಗಳ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
5 Peter was therefore kept in custody: but incessant prayer was made to God for him by the church.
೫ಪೇತ್ರನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕಾವಲಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಸಭೆಯವರು ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
6 And when Herod was about to bring him forth, that very night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the guards at the door watched the prison.
೬ಹೆರೋದನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ತರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದ ದಿನದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಪೇತ್ರನು ಎರಡು ಸರಪಣಿಗಳಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ನಿದ್ದೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಕಾವಲುಗಾರರು ಬಾಗಿಲ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
7 And behold an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the room; and smiting Peter on the side, he waked him, and said, Rise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
೭ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಪೇತ್ರನೆದುರಿಗೆ ನಿಂತನು; ಅವನಿದ್ದ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕು ಹೊಳೆಯಿತು. ಅವನು ಪೇತ್ರನ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಟ್ಟಿ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ; “ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಏಳು” ಅಂದನು. ಆಗಲೇ ಅವನ ಕೈಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ಸರಪಣಿಗಳು ಕಳಚಿಬಿದ್ದವು.
8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself and tie on thy sandals: and he did so. And he saith unto him, Throw thy garment round thee, and follow me.
೮ಆ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ; “ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆರಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು, ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು. “ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಾ” ಅಂದನು.
9 So he went out and followed him; and he did not know, that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision.
೯ಅವನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆ ದೂತನ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ, ದೂತನ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿ ನಿಜವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ತಾನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದು ಕನಸು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದನು.
10 And passing through the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate, that leadeth into the city, which of its own accord opened to them: and they went out and passed on through one street; and then the angel departed from him.
೧೦ಅವರು ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡನೆಯ ಕಾವಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅದು ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೆರೆಯಿತು; ಅವರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಒಂದು ಬೀದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದರು; ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆ ದೂತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದನು.
11 And Peter being come to himself said, Now I know truly, that the Lord hath sent his angel and hath delivered me from the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
೧೧ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಂಡು; “ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಹೆರೋದನ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯಜನರು ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದ ಕೇಡಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿದನೆಂದು ನನಗೀಗ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು” ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
12 And considering with himself, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, who was sirnamed Mark, where many were gathered together and praying.
೧೨ಆತನು ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡ ತರುವಾಯ, ಅವನು ಮಾರ್ಕನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಯೋಹಾನನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮರಿಯಳ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
13 And when Peter knocked at the door of the porch, a servant named Rhoda came to ask who was there.
೧೩ಪೇತ್ರನು ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಕದವನ್ನು ತಟ್ಟಲು ರೋದೆ ಎಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕೆಲಸದವಳು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಳು.
14 And knowing Peter's voice, through excess of joy she did not open the door, but ran in and told them, that Peter was standing at the door.
೧೪ಅವಳು ಪೇತ್ರನ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತುಹಿಡಿದು ಅತಿಯಾದ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯದೆ ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ; “ಪೇತ್ರನು ಬಾಗಿಲ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು. ಅವರು ಅವಳಿಗೆ; “ನಿನಗೆ ಹುಚ್ಚು ಹಿಡಿದದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
15 And they said to her, Thou art mad: but she confidently affirmed that it was so. Then said they, It is his angel.
೧೫ಆದರೆ ಅವಳು ತಾನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಅದೆ ಎಂದು ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಇರಲು, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು; “ಅವನ ದೂತನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು” ಅಂದರು.
16 But Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door, they saw him, and were astonished.
೧೬ಆದರೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಬಾಗಿಲು ತಟ್ಟುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರಲು, ಅವರು ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬೆರಗಾದರು.
17 But he made a sign to them with his hand to be silent, and related to them, how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go, tell these things to James and to the other brethren. And he departed and went to another place.
೧೭ಅವನು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೈಸನ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ; “ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೂ, ಸಹೋದರರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಸಿರೆಂದು” ಹೇಳಿ ಬೇರೆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small disturbance among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.
೧೮ಬೆಳಗಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಏನಾದನೆಂದು ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಕಳವಳ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
19 And Herod searching for him, and not finding him, brought the keepers to a trial, and ordered them to be executed. Then he went down from Judea to Cesarea, and abode there.
೧೯ಹೆರೋದನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಸಿ ಅವನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಕಾವಲುಗಾರರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಣೆಮಾಡಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದನು. ಬಳಿಕ ಹೆರೋದನು ಯೂದಾಯದಿಂದ ಕೈಸರೈಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾಲ ಇದ್ದನು.
20 And Herod was going to make war upon the Tyrians and Sidonians: but they came to him with one consent, and making interest with Blastus the king's chamberlain, they sued for peace; because their territory was supplied with provision by the king's country.
೨೦ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತೂರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀದೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆರೋದನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕೋಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಒಮ್ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅರಸನ ಅಂತಃಪುರದ ಮೇಲಣ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಬ್ಲಾಸ್ತನನ್ನು ಒಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅರಸನ ಸೀಮೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅವರ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ದವಸಧಾನ್ಯ ಬರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
21 And upon a set day, Herod arrayed in his royal robes, and sitting upon his throne, made an oration to them.
೨೧ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿದ ಒಂದು ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆರೋದನು ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man:
೨೨ಕೂಡಿದ್ದ ಜನರು; “ಇದು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಧ್ವನಿಯಲ್ಲ, ದೇವರ ಧ್ವನಿಯೇ” ಎಂದು ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿದರು.
23 but immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and being devoured by worms he died.
೨೩ಆ ಘನತೆಯನ್ನು ಅವನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸದೆ, ಹೋದುದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಡಿದನು; ಅವನು ಹುಳಬಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ತನು.
24 But the word of God grew and was multiplied.
೨೪ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಹಬ್ಬಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿತು.
25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their charge, taking along with them John who was sirnamed Mark.
೨೫ಬಾರ್ನಬನು ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಲನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಧರ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಮಾರ್ಕನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಯೋಹಾನನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
