< 2 Timothy 1 >
1 Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life in Christ Jesus,
Paul yon apot a Kris Jésus pa volonte Bondye, selon pwomès lavi ki nan Kris Jésus,
2 to Timothy my beloved son, grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father, and from Christ Jesus our Lord.
a Timothée fis byeneme mwen an: Lagras, mizerikòd, ak lapè Bondye, Papa a, e Kris Jésus, Senyè nou an.
3 I give thanks to God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience, having remembrance of thee continually in my prayers night and day;
Mwen remèsye Bondye ke mwen sèvi avèk yon bon konsyans jan zansèt mwen yo te fè a, pandan mwen sonje ou tout tan nan lapriyè mwen yo lannwit kon lajounen
4 greatly desiring to see thee, (for I remember thy tears, ) that I may be filled with joy:
avèk lanvi pou m wè ou menm lè mwen sonje dlo ki te sòti nan zye ou, pou m kapab ranpli avèk jwa.
5 keeping in memory the unfeigned faith, that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice: and I am persuaded that it dwells in thee also;
Paske mwen sonje lafwa sensè ki nan ou a, ki te dabò rete nan grann ou, Lois ak manman ou, Eunice, e mwen byen si ke li nan ou tou.
6 for which cause I remind thee to stir up the gift of God which is in thee through the imposition of my hands.
Pou rezon sa a, mwen fè ou sonje pou rechofe don Bondye ki nan ou depi mwen te poze menm sou ou a.
7 For God hath not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but of vigor, and of love, and of prudence.
Paske Bondye pa bannou yon lespri timidite, men pouvwa, lanmou ak disiplin.
8 Be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but bear thy part in the afflictions of the gospel, according to the power of God;
Konsa pa fè wont de temwayaj Senyè nou an, ni mwen menm nan, prizonye Li a, men vin jwenn ansanm avè m nan soufrans pou levanjil la selon pouvwa Bondye a,
9 who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose, and grace bestowed upon us through Christ Jesus, before the world was, (aiōnios )
ki te sove nou e te rele nou avèk yon apèl ki sen, pa selon zèv nou yo, men selon pwòp bi ak gras pa L, ki te bay a nou menm nan Kris Jésus depi tout letènite, (aiōnios )
10 but now made manifest by the appearance of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light by the gospel: for which I was appointed an herald,
men koulye a, ki vin revele pa aparans a Sovè nou an, Kris Jésus, ki te aboli lanmò e te pote lavi ak imòtalite nan limyè, atravè levanjil la.
11 and an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles:
Pou li menm, mwen te chwazi kòm predikatè, apot, ak pwofesè pou ale vè etranje yo.
12 for which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed: for I know in whom I have trusted, and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him against that day.
Pou rezon sa a, mwen osi soufri bagay sa yo, men mwen pa wont; paske mwen konnen nan kilès mwen kwè a, e mwen konvenk ke Li kapab pwoteje sa ke m livre a Li menm nan jiska jou sa a.
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Kenbe fèm a pawòl sen ke ou tande de mwen yo, nan lafwa ak lanmou ki nan Kris Jésus a.
14 The good thing committed to thee keep, through the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.
Veye byen, selon lespri Sen ki demere nan nou an, trezò kite konfye a ou a.
15 Thou knowest that all those of Asia are turned from me, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes.
Ou byen okouran ke tout moun ki an Asie yo, te vire kite m, pami yo menm, Phygelle ak Hermogène.
16 The Lord shew mercy to the family of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: but when he was at Rome,
Ke Senyè a bay mizerikòd a lakay Onésiphore, paske Li te souvan konsole m, e li pa t wont pou chenn mwen yo;
17 he sought for me the more diligently, and found me.
men lè li te Rome, li te chèche mwen avèk dilijans e li te jwenn mwen.
18 (The Lord grant that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day!) And how much he ministered to me at Ephesus too, thou knowest full well.
Ke Senyè a fè li jwenn mizerikòd Senyè a nan jou sa a—e ke ou konnen trè byen tout sèvis li te rann nan Éphèse.
